What a beautiful site! I've loved this area of the UK for many years and normally try to stay at Southwold, but it was full this year so I thought I would try Dunwich instead. I am so pleased I did - I will definitely be staying here rather than Southwold again.

The site is in beautiful surroundings. Although it was quite busy, because of all the trees you felt you were within a secluded peaceful site. The beach is just a short walk away down some steps, and from it the views are lovely - you can see across the bay to Southwold, but Sizewell Power Station is just out of view!

The on site facilities are very good - great food and drink at the pub on site, and although a little more than some pubs, it is worth it for the proximity to the site. The toilets and showers are very clean and some of the best showers experienced on holiday this year!

Definitely worth a visit.

Extremely good site in a beautiful setting.  All facilities are excellent, toilets and showers clean and tidy, on site pub serving good meals and a children's play area.  Some of the views from this site over the sea are the best.  There is a walk down from the site to the sea.  The beach runs for miles and when we went there it was deserted.  On the down side they like you to leave by 10am.  However, nobody seemed to follow this rule, we left at 3pm.

Chose the wrong weekend weather wise but was thoroughly impressed by this site and will definitely return. Loved the camping plots for tents, under trees, close to cliff edge, could hear the sea crashing against the shore all night.
Lovely and quiet site, great for families and people who don't want to hear music and partying late at night. Loved the little bar and restaurant, looked like great quantity of good quality food being produced. Real atmosphere. Did enjoy a few drinks in the evening there. They also had tables and chairs outdoors for fine weather!
Had a great walk along the beach into Dunwich and back along the footpaths, will take bicycles next time and use this site as a base.
Bathrooms were fantastic, we were very impressed. No charge for hot water, power showers (3 in ladies). Electric points for hairdryers. All clean and very warm on wet rainy days! Good washing up facilities too. Can't wait to return. A little hard to pay £25 a night for the bank holiday but worth every penny, will return on a normal weekend at about £18.

Fantastic site.  Showers/Toilet block were fully heated, nice big area to change.  The showers were lovely and hot and very powerful.

Unfortunately we were there for a very wet bank holiday weekend, so didn't really see the site at its best, but would love to return another time !

There is a pub on site with pool table in the children's room.

Lovely quiet site, It was fully booked but still very quiet.

We drove to Oulten Broads and hired a day boat for a couple of hours, which was nice.  Supermarkets are a small drive away, but accessible.

We had an evening out to the cinema at Lieceston - lovely small old fashioned cinema with newly fitted surround sound.

All staff very friendly

Just had a great weekend at this campsite. Our pitch was close to the sunken garden This is a gated and fenced area with a few palm trees, shrubs and weeds, in which our 2 small children spent a lot of their time hunting for bugs and worms!

The pitch was a reasonable size but the ground was very hard. It was also bark chipped, not so bad when the tent went up in the dry, but when it rained the chips got everywhere and stuck to the canvas as we took the tent down! Included in the pitch price is EHU, but make sure you have a long lead as some points are quite a way from the pitch. The tent pitches are mainly under the trees, however there are a few grassy ones.

The heated toilet block was nearby with powerful showers. They had good sized changing areas that were nice and clean but I think you had to time it right as my shower was quite cool! On site is a reasonable children's play area close to the pub. There are also indoor washing up sinks, and a small laundry.

We walked along the shingle beach down to the village of Dunwich. There is nice little cafe and shop on the beach front that serves fish and chips, cakes, ice creams and drinks. It was really busy, but quite expensive! We walked back to the campsite through the woods along the clifftop and saw a fox.

All in all the site was quite nice. Although the site was busy it was quite quiet in the evenings and it was lovely to lie in bed and listen to the sound of the waves!

DO NOT CONFUSE WITH CLIFF HOUSE SIZEWELL COMMON! Nothing wrong with either site , but it helps for directions! This site is much more developed; Sizewell is more undeveloped; depends what you like and what you want to pay. This is a bigger site, at the top of cliffs, whereas Sizewell is smaller; a field, right next to the sand dunes.

I did not enjoy our stay here. We stayed for one night underneath dank trees, plagued by gnats and children running round (literally, in circles) our tent. I thought the facilities were clean enough and anywhere, lets be frank here, that sells Adnams ale, sort of shoots up the "I can forgive the place it's oddities" charts.

Lovely to have felt the sun drenching my body as it rose over the beach in the morning, but I'd rather have been inside the tent at that time in the morning with my face in a welcoming pillow - thanks kids.

Vely woodland location right next to a shingle beach with direct access from the site. Our tent pitch was in the old sunken garden, it was a well marked pitch with bark and a very stony base, which was very hard, I gave up trying to get all the pegs in, just glad it wasn’t windy! The toilet block was reasonably clean, but the site was full. You also get free electricity.
There is a pub on site with good priced food (not Mondays); italso sells Adnams Ale and a guest beer on hand pumps, all in good condition. There is a playground for children and agames room. Overall a very nice site.

Visited this site over the May bank holiday and it was full - however, it was not noisy!  We stayed in an area which is primarily for residential caravans and found the toilet block somewhat tatty, however we booked late and this was the last pitch.  Shower had plentiful hot water, but lots of bugs and could have done with a good clean up.  There is another heated shower block in the centre of the site but some walk from where we were situated.
Good access to the beach, which was deserted, and offered miles of walking if you wanted it.
The on site pub was small but there was a fixed marquee type tent outside providing covered space for bench tables. This was fine for us because we have a dog but also good for families.  Food was available and reasonably priced. Shop was a little lacking compared to other sites we have visited. There were several attractions laid on in the evenings if you felt so inclined.

Just had a lovely weekend here. Its a lovely park with a woodland feel. We were in a tent and requested to be by the tolilets and showers as there is only one block for the whole site which is huge! We were put in the sunken garden area. this is ok but the pitches are bark chippings with hard gravel under. Our tent wouldnt have survived here in high winds!
The showers and toilets were lovely and clean and never busy. The bar was really nice, had a good friendly barman, local beers, cheap and resonable quality pub grub and a fun quiz on a Saturday night. the games room really only consists of a pool table though so that might be disapointing.
Brilliant walks in this area, especially starting from Coast guard cottages across the heath. Great rugged costlines here too.
Would certainly return here again!
