We stayed here for a long weekend at the beg of March 09. Lovely site with excellent walks off site. Toilet block was very clean and every one was helpful. Good size pitches, ours was the only one without wood chippings down so we had to keep removing our boots / shoes at the door to prevent lots of mud in the unit.
Walked to Dunwich along the beach, which was great, although hard going due to the shingle.
Southwold was lovely, and walking across Dunwich Heath and towards Minesmere was excellent.
All in all, we had a great weekend and look forward to going back again.

We have been to this site a couple of times. Great site for exploring Suffolk coast.
Amenities are good and well looked after, pub on site serves reasonable food and there is a good play area for young children. You can walk down some steep steps onto the beach and the site is situated perfectly for great cycling through national parks.
Tents have their own small area which feels a little claustrophobic when busy. Prices are fair. Will be returning again.

Visited over the weekend of 5th/6th September. It had been raining heavily but the site was well drained and sheltered by the trees.
The facilities are excellent for the kids with a relatively new set of climbing frames and a small football goal set up. The beach was fantastic for exploring and a walk Dunwich only took an hour on the beach (with the kids running to and fro with the tide). There is a fish and chip cafe and toilet facilities at Dunwich to make the walk worthwhile!
We went 'crabbing' at Walberswick on Sunday (as recommended by the camp staff). The crabs were constantly biting although space was limited.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
The toilet block/showers were sparkling and cleaned often throughout the day. The washing up area was also well looked after.
There is a pub at the site that serves food throughout the day.
We will definitely be returning next year!

We stayed for 4 nights in May, it is a lovely site with nice views (through the trees) of the sea.
It has an excellent play area for children.
The shop was well stocked, however, didn't seem to have any definite opening/closing times. It was just luck of the draw as to whether it was open or not when you needed it.

Just back from a two night stay at this site we stayed monday and tuesday night and found the site to be very nice indeed. We stayed in the sunken garden area sheltered under the trees which is only a one min walk from the outstanding shower and toilet block. The male and female showers have three seperate showers each and we never had to wait at all. There is a onsite bar and restuarant which is open all week and serves really nice food till 21.00. Not much local to walk to outside of the site so the onsite shop comes in handy and there is also a open bbq area for all to use. The beach is only a couple of mins away with direct access from the site via some steps, the beach is stone and gravel so don't expect sand. All in all a very good site with power hookups washing up and shower facilities included in the price would happily stay at this site again.

We hoped to spend a relaxing 4 days at the site unfortunately this was not the case.
50 metres away 2 dumper trucks were digging a trench the full day and whizzing round the site above the 5 miles an hour speed limit. When I asked how long this noise would be going on for I was told another day. I complained to the manager who again was unhelpful and I was told they where getting ready for the bank holiday.
The next day they decided to strim the grass all day. We would have had a more relaxing peaceful time in our back garden and more sun as the pitches are either near a road or in the trees shaded from the sun. The site facilities are excellent although I got the impression all the owner is concerned about is making money with the bank holiday weekend coming up he had little regard for the camper on a mid week break and the price was not cheap to pay for a short break of noise and inconsideration.

We've just come back from a weekend (7 - 9 March 08) at this pleasant campsite. The site re-opened for the 2008 season on 1 March. A lot of work has been done to the site since we first visited in 2003. The pitches are now well marked out and the restaurant and bar are established, but we thought the drinks were expensive at £5.80 for a pint and a small glass of wine. Toilet and shower facilities are clean and well maintained, but we thought there might be queues for them when the campsite is full with tents and vans. If there is somewhere to do your washing up, we couldn't find it! A lot of the pitches with electric hookups are under trees, which is nice if you like shade but not good if you want to lie in the sun in the summer.
The site is on a cliff overlooking the sea and there are steps down to the beach from the campsite. We cycled by road to Dunwich and then along the beach to Southwold via Walberswick and back. This was hard work, as the path ran out very quickly after Dunwich and we had to drag our bikes over shingle and stone which is very exhausting! It would be easier to walk, would take just over an hour each way.
The Ship at Dunwich is a nice pub that you can reach easily by following the road to the left of the site entrance, then following the public footpath through the woods which cuts about 3/4 mile off the road route.
Minsmere RSPB reserve is an easy walk from the campsite.

Wonderful site. We got here for a 2 night stay after a horrible journey which should have taken 1.5hrs and took us 3! It was pitch dark, found our way more by luck than judgement (my fault forgot tom tom!) warden fantastic and helpful. We hitched up at 7.30pm found the bar for take away food then went to bed. Woke up, opened my kitchen window to see the sea!. Lovely woodland pitches 2 mins walk from the beach. Great site, some very nice log cabins I know where I want to be in 10years! Great play area for my son we could have a pint whilst he played bliss. Didn't use the showers but they were clean and toilets were lovely. Would recommend to anyone. Will be back again next season.

Lovely site. Great for kids as there is plenty to do on site - woods, beach, play ground. There is a pub on site which serves food (didn't't eat but it looked reasonably priced) and the play area is attached to the pub so we had a drink in the evening as the kids played, brilliant. The beach is shingle so difficult for sandcastle building but good for skimming and throwing stones in the sea. My kids are 3 and 6 so paddling in the water was difficult as the sea bed drops away quickly and becomes deep. However, the nearest sand beach is only a few miles away and the drive to Southwold was easy and parking at the beach only £3 for the day. The site was very quiet and well maintained, shop sold the basics and the staff are friendly and helpful. There are very few pitches for tents and most of them are under trees which provide shelter and shade. We will be returning soon, really enjoyed our stay.

With three children (two teenagers and one eight year old) and a tent in tow, we were surprised to see a large pitch and beautiful views for our soon to be erected tent. Hook up for electricity is available but we decided to go "au naturel"; part of the fun when camping. The camp site has a real sense of pride in taking care of the environment which I think makes this place rather special. The sea is a minutes walk away which the kids loved. The shower block has hot powerful showers and plenty of room in the cubicles for changing, and are always warm! I was impressed with how clean the facilities were kept. There is a small shop near the pub with friendly staff. Plenty of things for children to do; ours enjoyed the games room with endless games of pool. The bar/restaurent has a friendly family atmosphere, and if you enjoy Karoke and a good laugh I would recommend Tuesday nights where a competion is held. We had such a good laugh- it was rocking! Must mention the fantastic singing voice of the Karoke D J. We are comming back next year: this place definitely has the wow, wow, wow factor.
