September 2005 We returned here for a week, weather perfect as usual! Site very quiet, toilet facilities much improved, showers a more bearable temperature, although they could do to be on a slightly longer time. Whilst here we visited St. Peters brewery near Bungay. We recommend anyone to try the food at the restaurant here, it was fabulous, not to mention sitting in a medieval banqueting hall!

July 2005 We're fairly new to camping so not a lot to compare it with, but we absolutely loved this site. As another reviewer mentioned, there was a crowd of weekenders enjoying an end of term party (from a 'private school in Stoke Newington' to quote an 8yr old kid who we asked) - but they were having a great time, so didn't begrudge them dominating the site somewhat for the weekend. The site is a picturesque mixture of open grassy areas and coastal woodland, and nothing beats taking your morning mug of coffee down the steps to sit in the sun on the shingle beach. My husband's just reminded me to mention that his first pint of Adnams from the site pub was the best pint he's had in years. Our son loved the play area as a great place to gather and mix with the other kids. A word of warning - the shop is quite limited and there's nothing much locally, so take plenty of supplies with you. We loved our visits to Southwold and Aldburgh - but also made the mistake, in complete ignorance, of visiting Gt Yarmouth (horrific - don't do it!) Would definitely go back.

June 2005 Been coming here every year for approx 5 years. Love the site, very quiet, although this year and last year the lawn area was taken over by many families and their childrens friends. Very noisy! Adults ignoring the signs stating that no ball games allowed except in the play area, and allowing their children to kick ball around other campers tents and cars.
Adults being quite rude when asked to obey regulations. Also, this year we found that the shower/toilets were not up to their usual standard by any means and were quite mucky. If Cliff house can address these two small issues it will be more enjoyable. The walking around the site is unbeatable, the walk over the heathland to Minsmere just beautiful.

June 2005 This is the first time I have been camping, my wife had been several years ago and we both agreed this was an excellent break for us and our German Shepherd. We went for two nights (Thursday,Friday). The facilities are excellent clean showers and toilets, well laid out laundry and washing up facilities.
The site was busy but had a very quiet atmosphere. Everyone was friendly and the staff were very helpful. The pitches seemed to be plenty big enough(although I have not been anywhere else to compare it to).
The takeaway food was very good and a reasonable price. The restaurant food was excellent and cheap.
Do take insect repellent we forgot and I left with several bites.
This was a fantastic break and would definitely visit this campsite over and over again. There are plenty of walks and several places to visit locally.
Would highly recommend this site.

April 2004 Well its a long time ago, but this site was our most visited. For 8 years 1978-1986 four times a year on all the bank holidays we would tow our caravan 160 miles to this special site. Our children just loved it with all the trees and hideing spots. The secret garden, a dip in the ground with a pond surounded by roderdenderons (In flower for spring bank holiday). With walks along the beach or via the woods to Dunwich. A few pints of Adnams was fixed by a dip in the sea at 6am (Brrr). In 1986 we left for a new life in Australia. I sadly miss this site. The location is the best. Even if some of the reviews say its a bit expensive as it was then. The extra cost is well worth the quality of the patrons and the beauty of the location and the surrounding villages. Tony

September 2004 An ideal site if you want peace and quiet. The site itself is very shady with many pitches under the trees. The tent pitch we had was level and spacious and away from the trees so we got plenty of sun. It is a great site for dogs, there are steps down to the shingle beach and it is close to a nature reserve. The facilities, although i thought a little dated, were always spotless. There is a pub on site which was nice for a drink in the evening, also sells food.

August 2004 We've just returned from a visit to this site, and although the setting is lovely (views, wildlife, sea etc), the site has problems when it is wet (as it has been this summer). There are many trees, which makes it muddy and parts of it never really get the sun so never really dry out. Worst of all is that some tent pitches are not well maintained and so flood and don't drain well at all - this happened to us, and very nearly ruined our holiday. To make it worse, the staff are not good at coping with stressed out people with flooded tents, and had the audacity to tell me I was over reacting. Sadly, we won't go to this one again.

26/28 July 2004 As first time campers, we found this to be a lovely quiet and secluded site. Although a fairly large site, it is still peaceful. The showers and toilets were clean and the washing up area spotless.
The only thing we felt let the site down a bit was the very basically stocked shop. You couldn't even buy a magazine to take down to the beach with you. Also, the pitches are maybe a little pricey.
Also very important at this time of year - remember your insect repellent. We came back covered in mosquito bites!
We highly recommend this site and feel we will be hard pushed to beat it on our next camping trip.

July 2004 During the last weekend 10/11 July 2004 the site was quiet. It's a pleasant setting at the top of the cliffs but sheltered by trees. We were camped on the front lawn which is the best place for tents. If it's damp and you are camped under the trees it can be a bit muddy. Facilities are good but I think the pitches are a little overpriced for the quality of the pitch. They also have cottages and lodges if you need extra luxury! Bar-B-Ques off the ground unless of course you have a cobb!

June 2004 Lovely setting with the best of two worlds - woodlands AND the beach.
Pitches are set in pretty woodland and well spaced giving privacy. Beach is a short walk away (down steep steps) and is absolutely lovely. Borders on Dunwich Moor and Minsmere Nature Reserve. The park is therefore near some stunning moorland scenery with the vegetation in superb bloom when we where there.
Ablution blocks were clean with good facilities.
Quite a bit of construction work going on when we were there, but once on your pitch it's not visible.
Very pleasant site that we hope to visit again as soon as possible.
