We had a great time there in 2010 so much so we will be returning in June 2011 for a annual rally,
Down side no EHU, flat site,
Good walks and you can even hire a canal long boat 100y up the road,
For the fit people the is some good 5k round walks and the village has a yearly scarecrow competition which for kids, is great to find them all over the village,
Would recommend this site, although limited facilities, it has a small park for kids to play.
But pub do great fish and chips and good range of food prices keen.

We first visited this site 18 months ago and were then impressed with the site and why we returned.
And although we remembered the facilities were very basic they were at least clean. I cannot say that now. There is one toilet for both sexes and one shower that costs £1. Too my mind when you book a site you also book the facilities that come with it and especially when it's £14 per night!
This site has a small mix of hard and grass pitches all with electric hook up. Although there are more pitches the vast majority are taken up by seasonal pitch holders. When we were last here the pitches were very well kept, but alas, now they are pot holed and full of weeds and the grassed areas are neglected and bare. There is also a huge rally field for tents and caravans but there is no electric facility.
The Cotton Arms pub (on site) is excellent serving an impressive range of drinks and food and the staff are very friendly. The beer garden is well kept and serviced by an excellent climbing apparatus for the kids. Over the road is another excellent bar and restaurant serving a more up market range of food and drinks, although, as you would expect the prices are reflected in this.
The location of this site too is fantastic with an eclectic mix of things to do and see and all within a short car journey. The canal that runs right along side the site is beautiful and great for those into walking and nature spotting.
The pleasing village of Wrenbury is a 5 minute walk from the site and has a shop for all those necessities.
In our opinion it would take very little to get those little niggles put right and the site deserves it.
It may be some time before we revisit this site. Shame.

Really nice camp site, we live in staffordshire, so its just 40 mins from home.
Arrived Saturday morning, met by a nice man, (I think he was managing the site as the owners were away). Gave us a choice of pitches for our caravan. Stayed until we were happy, helped us plug in the electric and showed us where the water, loos, showers etc. were.
The site is nice and clean, quite a lot of people there, but there was no noise.
Toilet nice and clean, didn't us shower.
The pub itself is nice, we didn't eat there, but loads of people did,
The canal is a nice work and so is the village.
Really worth the trip

I spent one night here with my daughter, sister, nephew and parents in two campervans. Great location by the canal. Lovely to walk alongside and watch the colourful narrow boats.
Site owners and pub staff were very friendly. We were charged £10 per campervan per night as we didn't have electric hook up.
Food in the child and dog friendly pub was great and good value for money. We had our evening meal and Sunday lunch there. Tried one of the Real Ales which was very tasty.
The children played on the wooden climbing frame which is adjacent to the pub and, although I didn't think it looked very exciting, they seemed to enjoy themselves.
In my view, there are two issues that let this place down. The first is the amount of dog poo, especially near the children's play area. Perhaps the owners could consider fencing this area off to keep the dogs out.
The second is that there is only one toilet and one shower. We were able to use the pub toilets during the day and these were kept clean and well stocked with loo paper.
Overall, the site suited our needs for a one night stay.

Thanks to Joe and Julie at the Cotton Arms for a fab New Year. We spend 4 nights over New Year at this very friendly site and enjoyed it so much. Lovely walks along the canal and a few from nearby villages. The facilities on the site are in need of some updating and the lack of power with the electricity supply is very poor, but the site was was still very enjoyable, food at the pub first class, along with the good choice of real ales. Will return

Having read so many reviews on here I have decided it was about time I wrote one back as they are very useful.
Just returned from a 2 night stay at the cotton arms.
Good Points:
-Large field- can pitch where you like- fairly quiet so we got a large pictch - Canal walks near by very nice - village shop a few minutes walk - All campers were friendly - people generally quiet at night - 2 pubs near by both alright to drink in
Bad Points-
- only 1 toilet and 1 shower- shower was free when I went to use it but there were gaps in the door as seeing as its right outside the back of the pub you never know who might walk past, was clean however! Outside toilet is not so clean and wasn't keen to use this when people were outside having a drink. Pub toilet alright to use. - clock chimes loudly every hour quarter past, half past and quarter to even through the night!
Owners friendly- although when I got there I just paid and was shown the field where the tents went and then left had to find toilet, shower, canal path etc some info would have been good.
All in all a basic site only £10 but had nice time

We have just had a great weekend. The site was perfect, short grass, plenty of room although plenty of people there. Short walk to local shop, the canal runs alongside the site with lots of good places to fish The boss of the pub is a nice bloke to the extent that he dug some worms from his compost heap so we could fish. I caught a nice perch a couple of pound.

Site situated down Country Lane Behind the Cotton Arms. Great situation next to Canal and Rates £14 per night. Amenities a little poor with only one shower. 2 pubs right by site the Cotton Arms which is quite tatty with little atmosphere but fantastic food and The Dusty Miller which is by far the better of the two pubs being more Modern if a little small at the moment, with a great view of the Canal. Not much else around, but lovely walk by the Canal. We did have music in the Bowls Pavilion going on till 12 at night , which was a little late in our opinion

Just got back from a rally here with a club we belong to and what a great Easter weekend we have had on a great campsite.
We were on the none electric field for four nights. The field was flat and in tip top condition and a brilliant setting for a campsite. We were blessed with a fantastic 4 days of glorious weather and were able to walk, fish on the canal that is right next to the site, play bowls on the bowling green and sample some wonderful real ales at the pub. We did not eat at the pub but people who did says the food was brilliant.
There is a small shop in the village about ten minuets stroll away and there is another Pub across the road from the campsite.
For more general shopping Nantwich is 15 minuets drive away.
There is a play area on site by the pub and for two nights we hired a great little room behind the pub for our rally socials.
We were told that our own sanitation was advisable before we went on the rally so the showers and toilets were no problem for us. Although the shower room with one shower and the one toilet we could use was clean at all times.
We really liked this site and would definitely go there again. On a rally or using the main site that had hard standings with EHUs.

We have just returned from a fantastic break at this site.
Even though the site hosted a rally this weekend the site was big enough for us not to notice if we did not want to get involved
The site was very friendly and especially the owners Jo & Jill. Jo the chef has a fantastic talent for excellent home cooked food and although it seems a little expensive than normal you pay for the quality and quantity.
The meal we had was a rump steak with pepper saurce which came with the best home cooked chips (wedges) that we've ever had for a pub meal and the other was a steak burger (with those fab chips) which would probably not look lost in a restaurant in an expensive city. The freshness and flavours that came over always had care and authentity running right the way through them. The meal came to around £20 which in our opinion was fantastic value for money.
The site is very clean and well kept especially the short cut grass, gardens and bowling green. The staff are helpful and fiendly and will help with almost all requests!
The site is dog frindley and all visitors we met abided by the doggie rules.
The beer garden is a fantastic sun trap with very well maintained and large children's play area.
Although the onsite toilet and shower facilities are small they are very clean and well kept.
We will be coming back to this site as we have met some very nice people.
