We called in on our way back from a steam fair nearby and booked in quick, easy with little fuss. Ten pounds a night, two adults and two dogs, a bargain considering some sites have charged us as much as that for just the dogs!
Basic toilet facilities but that wasn't an issue with us, great beer in the pub, brilliant walks along the canal towpath and a huge rally field to camp in with plenty of room as we shared it with only 4 other units. EHU is available on the hard standing pitches.

Have visited twice now once as part of a rally on the field in April and the latest time along the canal side with ehu. I agree this site is basic and can get busy, the pub is starting to look a little run down, the ladies are a bit of a tight squeeze when you are tall like me. But. It's cheap. I like it, the staff are mostly friendly, the pub food is good and with good portions, my dogs enjoyed the experience and they're allowed in the pub, you might have to pay for the shower but the time is plenty long enough for myself and my daughter to shower with 1 token in the disabled/family shower. My 6yo enjoyed the park even if the tyre swing had vanished? I would just query the large difference in price between ehu and no having ehu from what I've seen most places only charge on average £3
Will visit again

This is a very basic campsite. Not just basic in terms of facilities, but basic in that they didn't appear to cut the grass.
Thankfully we took our small two man tent and not the big Montana.
One night was enough.
It seems that the majority of people live on the site in touring caravans.
The positive was that there was ample space on the camping field. That's about it.
The pub is run down, there is one gents toilet.

Only 2nd visit to The Cotton Arms but both times we have enjoyed the walks along the canal and into the villages around. The beers are always kept well and as the pub is next to the site we have no problems with driving and a visit it to The Dusty Miller. All though it was very busy we enjoyed the food and nothing was to much trouble.
There is a shop in the village which sells every thing you need
The site has adequate facilities including showers and childs play area
Would I go back it is a YES

Stayed 3 nights. Mon-Thur. Lovely area. Facilities basic but good no trouble getting shower. Might be different at wk ends. Had the special lunch club meal on Wed £6 for 2 courses good food & value. Would go again my type of site. If you don't like peace & quiet not for you. I prefer th sound of chuch bells & the cockerel to the sound of busy roads & motorways that you can hear on some sites. £10 a night no electric great leave the tv at home proper camping.

Have just spent 9 nights at this site, lovely pub with great meals, nice walks down canal and basic but clean toilets/showers £1 to use though, would go back again on the condition the Cockerel on site was gone, woke me up every morning between 4, 30 and 5 am, not good when you are on holiday cannot understand why its there as everyone was complaining about it, we left two days earlier than intended just for a lie in before back to work, even though the church bells rang every quarter an hour that was nothing compared to that dam Cockerel, ,

Access good Amenities fair some hard standings for tourers camping field a bit spartan.
Enjoyed 6 nights here, great easy going site alongside canal, good value for money. Unpretentious pub with good pub food and very good real ales. Regularly has live music in the garden or the hall we arrived Sunday afternoon and just missed Elvis (tribute). I would recommend to friends.

A last minute decision to go away over the Easter weekend and a quick phone call to the pub on good Friday and we had a pitch for 2 nights without having to book for 3 as at lots of sites on a bank holiday. Half expected to arrive and find a packed field, but were surprised to see the size of the site. Despite the fact that they had a rally using half the field there was still plenty of space.
Checked in at the bar and were told we could pitch anywhere in the field. The owner then came round later to collect fees £10 a night on a bank holiday must be good value for anyones money. Once we were sorted headed back down to the pub where the family made us feel most welcome. Food was great and a couple of good ales on. We also ate in the pub Saturday night. We had booked a table (recommended) and although they were catering for 45 at a function in the pavilion the food was first class and we were served at the time we had booked.
As others have said the toilets are a little on the tight side although when we were there they were always clean. There is a play area for the kids and dogs are welcome in the pub.
A great base for walking the canal and surrounding area will definitely be returning.

We have just returned from an overnight stay at the cotton arms with some friends and apart from the dull weather on sat it was a great choice for a gathering. On arrival we were shown to our pitch and although did not book electric we were offered it which was a blessing. The toilet facilities was ok showers ok albeit £1 for a token might be a bitter pill to take for some people but your not spending 2 weeks here.
We had lunch which was very reasonable and then walked along canal some six miles later we returned to get ready for evening meal the food was Excellent service good. The management did apologise when we ordered food that their supplier of meat had let them down so steaks were limited but this did not damper the night. We were able to take our time moving of on the Sunday.
Overall we can see this site has a huge potential and running a pub and campsite is very difficult. The help of a keen gardener who could look after the grass and pitch area would go a long way to make this site A1 and would not hesitate to recommend this site. We look forward to returning cheers Joe.
