We stayed for our first camping experience here for 1 night back in July when it rained constantly, but it didn't put us off going again.
Fortunately for our 2nd visit in August for 2 nights the sun came out so we were able to sit out & eat and enjoy the experience alittle better!
The site is basically just a field but it's exactly what we want & the surrounding area is lovely too. My husband went fishing at the nearby river, which is free of charge. The toilets & showers are clean and adequate and it also has washing up facilities and a laundry room.
Even though we are locals we have never been to Pensthorpe Nature Reserve so as it is near & handy to the site we visited on the Saturday and I can definitely recommend Pensthorpe for a day out.
Only downside for us wasn't anything to do with the site but a child in the tent next to us shouting at 6.50am on the Sunday morning & the parents letting it. The site asks you to respect other people after 11pm (which is fine by me) so maybe they should have a rule for the morning also, say after 8.00am?

A really lovely site in lovely area. Myself, my husband, two teenage sons, my 9yr old and my 18 month old spent three nights here and all enjoyed it.
Firstly you asked to go to reception to book in. Staff were extreamly friendly and helpful. We were told what areas we could pitch. We were tent without electric so could choose where we wanted to pitch as long as we left certain amount of space between others. There are about 8 electric hook ups I think if required and these seemed very popular.
Fields were well kept. Large central bonfire area which was lit on our first night, this got everyone together sitting on the logs around it. There is also a small bambo hut next to it.
Generaly good flat surface.
Excellent toilet and shower facilities. Two showers, three toilets in each male female, additional disabled room with toilet & shower. Family room with toilet, shower and baby change. Two washing up sinks and toilet empty disposal, all free of charge, all cleaned daily and all run from solar power. Laundry room also.
Set on a working farm with rare cattle which was great for the younger kids to go see. Lovely walks.
Not far from small town Dereham. Close enough to visit Norwich etc.
Great little place which I would stay again.

We stayed for a long weekend over the first May bank holiday with a group of friends and found the facilities clean, the staff very helpful and the optional cooked breakfast extremely good value for money.
Hook up's are on the front field, but we used the larger camping field behind. The pitches were level and well maintained and we were able to group ourselves together (6 tents plus a camper van) with no problem.
There's a pub and a shop within a mile of the site, and the atmosphere is relaxed and family friendly.
All in all, we'd be happy to re-visit and also to recommend Hunters Hall.

What a beautiful site! This was our second visit to the site and once again we were greeted by friendly, helpful staff.
The showers & toilet block is amazing, and even feature a family shower room for the added privacy if you are trying to shower your children.
There is also a laundry room which for a small fee has a washing machine and tumble dryer. Also two washing up areas mean no queuing for the facilities.
The farmer was very friendly and was happy for us to wander down to the barn to see the calves and cows.
The children love the site because it feels very secure and safe. The shops are within reasonable distance & there is also a play area not far away.
The only down side that I could find is that the showers are a little hot for little ones to use as we couldn't figure out if there was a temperature control or not.
Overall though it is a great site, great value and even has entertainment with the guy who lives on the site providing a camp fire, fire eating & juggling, accordion music & games for both children & adults.
Wonderful value!

We have just returned from Hunters Hall and have greatly enjoyed our visit. The facilities were as described and exceptionally clean. The local pub had a play area for children and lovely food. Our children enjoyed playing on the site and in the communal area. The site was ideal for travelling around Norfolk and visiting the local attractions.
The only thing that could possibly be improved was the actual showers. The showers were hot, but sprayed out so far that it was difficult to stand under the water.
Would strongly recommend this site.

Booked here for 2 weeks in june 2009 in our caravan-this is a weird setup on a farm but that also has a venue that deals with wedding receptions which is adjacent to the camping field -so both Saturday nights whilst we were there, there was not a lot of sleep to be had for us as the revellers spilled out onto the camping field as late as 3 in the morning and cars raced along the roadway next to the field.
The site has a brand new state of art shower block that design wise is all but useless as the shower heads are fixed at 8 feet high and none adjustable so that they spray your towel and clothes and water runs along the floor into the toilet cubicles. There is no stand pipe there either/hand dryers are badly positioned. The one stand pipe is in the far corner of the field some 100 yards from shower block and most campers. The grass was around a foot high and hadnt been cut for weeks and the field itself is poor being slightly rutted. No shop on site / no gas etc. This site could be excellent as the position is lovely and quiet when there are no weddings with a lovely village just a mile away and is central to explore most of Norfolk

Friendly, helpful owners and staff. Ideally situated near to Dereham and surrounding villages - outstanding scenery, and free fishing too! The toilet and shower block is second to none - immaculate, free showers and hot water, separate free washing up facilities - all together magnificent, and run entirely on solar power!
The farmer even came over on our last day to ask if everything had been OK!
There is a central fire pit for barbecuing and camp fires and even a covered eating area.
Plenty of pubs and eating places nearby should you yearn a cooked meal away from the campsite - though you can order breakfast on site.
Highly recommend.

Our second visit to this site and it won't be our last.
Since our first visit there have been improvements, there is a great new shower / toilet block on the edge of the camping field, 2 free showers and 3 toilets in the ladies and plenty of hot water in the sinks and showers, there is a free hairdryer too. It was very clean and warm.
There is a pot washing sink and a washing machine and dryer.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and always smiling.
The Park Farm can provide a cooked breakfast to campers, BBQ packs and ready meals.
In the main field where the electric hooks ups are there is a huge fire pit and a large newly built undercover seating area with wooden benches and a table.
They have created farm walks with maps which we didn't use this time but will try next time.
The locals shops are small but are well stocked and there are 2 pubs in the village.
We wanted to be away from everyone else this weekend and didn't take EHU so we were directed to the next field which was empty and were told that we could pitch wherever we wanted.
It was a bit uneven in places but it wasn't noticeable once we had set up. There were only 2 other 2 man tents in the field with us all weekend and they were so far away from us that we felt like we were on our own.
We love this site because we like to be away from the rest of the world and we can relax and enjoy our own company.

Just returned from a wonderful 4 nights here, booked for 3 nights but didn't want to come home.
It is a working farm and as said in a previous review there are certain 'farm' noises, but they didn't bother us.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Toilets/showers were very clean. They were a bit of a walk from the camping field, especially for the 'middle of the night pee' but was well lit when you got to the main building and it looks like they are having a fab new toilet block built on the camping field.
They have a washing machine and dryer inside the main building and hot water and sink for washing up.
Camping field was spacious, we were able to pick where we wanted to pitch. Hubby thought grass might be too long for some campers but was cut whilst we were there.
The site is in a great place to explore Norfolk and the surrounding area has lots of lovely walks. The local shops sold everything you need.
Overall, this is a site that I would visit again and again, we had a lovely restful holiday.

Toilets and showers were very clean and were part of the BB complex hence were a bit of a walk from the site. The showers only had curtains for privacy, the site was mediocre, rough grass and shared with 4 permanent vans which I assume were workers , a bit off- putting on arrival, but they were friendly and quiet, unlike the tractors on the unmade road leading to the site. Superb area for walking and cycling ,plenty of good leaflets in the office, We liked the ANGEL pub best, friendly and pub like ,with nice Pub food. the Darby was more like a restaurant. Shops near The Darby were very good, everything you may need. We may return as overall the positives outweighed the negatives.
