Booking in was quick. Choice of large pitches. Very clean toilets and showers. Small childrens play area, but ours amused themselves with their bikes and bats and balls, playing with other kids. Very busy over the bank holiday, but still you didn;t feel hemmed in. Nice Village with post office which sells bread and newspapers. Also can have cup of tea/coffee here. There is a general store for other necessities. There is a tesco in Shaftesbury. Lots to do in the area. We visited, the heavy horse centre which was a nice afternoon with pony rides and trailer rides. Longleat house and safari park, excellent. Wilton House and gardens, which has a very good adventure play area for the children. Wardour Castle was good, you don't think there is much to see, but they give you a cassette which tells you the history of the castle as you walk round, which brings it alive. We went to an excellent reenactment event of the second world war at Old Sarum, just north of Salisbury. We had fantastic weather so our week was perfect.

This was our first trip camping with new tent, toddler and Greyhound, you would have thought that it would have been too much for first timers - but no! We arrived at the site to a warm welcome, and were shown a lovely large pitch to make home for our stay. We were positioned overlooking the play area, ideal for keeping F occupied while we set up the tent. The site was very clean, quiet, and relaxing. The village shop had everything we needed for a one night stop, and there was a cooked breakfast on offer too. A cheap, friendly site that we will certainly be visiting again.

We stayed here the weekend that Gloucester was severely flooded, after a week of very heavy rain. However, considering the amount of rainfall the campsite was not too muddy. We went with friends and both families had large tents but we were allocated a roomy, level pitch. The play area is in the middle of the field which makes it easy to keep an eye on the children. There is also a large area to play football. My children soon found a public play area a short walk away and also used that. The toilet block is immaculate, complete with fresh flowers, there is only one shower in each block plus a disabled one but that wasn't a problem as the campsite wasn't full. I only had to wait a few minutes to use the shower. There are additional showers and toilets in a portacabin but I didn't use these. The owners were friendly and helpful and sell cooked breakfasts at weekends. They also sell meals on Saturday nights but we didn't try any of these. It is very close to the village where there is a pub and a few shops and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. We didn't experience any of the anti-social behaviour described by other reviewers and would definitely consider returning.

Had booked into this site for four days - but ended up staying for twelve!. Only problem we had was with local kids gatecrashing the disco that had been laid on for the youth section of the C.C.C. South West D.A. Summer meet. The disco had been set up in the bottom field quite a way from the main rally - out of site out of mind - with not much of an adult presence. I am sure that if the locals could have been kept out there would'nt have been a problem. Also the previously mentioned mini motorbike thrashing up and down the public footpath on the other side of the hedge was in fact the son of a caravanner staying on site - not a local. This was soon sorted out by a rather large chap that you would'nt argue with - thanks mate !. Gripes over with - this is a really nice site run by really nice people. The previous reviews have'nt mentioned the 'temporary' toilets and showers in the portacabins which make things easier when things get busy. Everything is kept nice and clean with fresh cut flowers in the washrooms. There are also some little known about washrooms and a shower in the laundry room - albeit a bit cobwebby. The village shop sells most things you would need but we tended to use supermarkets when we were out for the day. There is a big Tesco in Salisbury - follow A36 Southampton when in Salisbury and you will come across it on the left. Also a Morrisons in Verwood. Did'nt use the local pub so cant comment on it - from the outside it's not particularly attractive - but previous reviews rate the food highly. For dog walking we went to Martin nature reserve a couple of miles towards Salisbury - it's free to park and has some lovely views. All in all a good site which we would'nt hesitate to return to in the future though I would check first that there was'nt a rally on at the time !.

Stayed on this site with the ukcs rally held there in June .A very flat site and the field seemed to drain well particularly as it hadn't not had a real heavy down pour. There is one shower for the men and 1 for women in the main toilet block how ever there is also a portacabin style toilet block with a shower as well.A site that has no traffic noise at all .There is a small basic park in the main field, how ever a very short walk away is the local village park which has some of the best equipment for a park I have ever seen the kids all enjoyed the zip wire there . If you re in the area and require a site to stay at then this would be ideal for you .Good to see a recycling center just on the entrance to the site ideal for your glass empties that you may occur on a trip away .

Just returned from a lovely stay at this site and the only thing at fault was the weather! The owners are very friendly and always at hand when needed, the toilet block was kept very clean, had brilliant hot showers and although camp site was fairly full we never had to queue. The site itself was spacious, well drained, had regular water points and very very quiet other than a few sheep and a donkey! Very small village within 5 minutes walk had a very well stocked shop. If travelling with children and wanting to go on days out, we would recommend prior research as Salisbury is the closest town and is 20 mins drive away, and attractions in Poole are at least an hours drive. The countryside surrounding the site however is brilliant for walking and letting kids run and we did discover a really great park just on the perimeter of the site with more unusual equipment for the children to play on. We will definitely be returning hopefully in better weather!

Stayed here over the Easter 2007 (6th Apr-9th), the weather was beautiful warm and sunny, we were pitched in the big camping field right opposite the park which was handy for keeping an eye on the kids. There was a big Camping and caravan club rally in the bottom field. FAcilities were average for a little site, the villiage of sixpenny handley was very quaint and the church was beautiful. The staff were very helpful and very accomodating. There was an easter egg hunt for the children on Easter Sunday and all the children on site had an Easter Egg for finding a special ticket. The Barn Cafe was open for very reasonable and very tasty breakfasts, orders are taken on sat sundays and bank holiday mondays and from 8.30am-10.30am last orders being 10.15. The only down side was there seemed to be alot of people with dogs a white highland terrier and jack russell letting them run lose, our dog was always on a lead and the loose dogs were coming to annoy her on our pitch, this was soon sorted but there re ally wasnt any warden keeping an eye out some people thought they could do what they wanted

February is perhaps not the best time of year to judge a campsite and I am sure during the summer months this is a pleasant and peaceful rural site. However, I found Church Farm to be quite a basic site with not a great deal of interest in the area. The site is mainly one big flat field which at the time of my visit was quite soft and muddy in places. A small children's play area dominates the centre of the field. Apart from the church partially hidden behind trees, and a hill in the distance, the outlook isn't particularly scenic since the site is surrounded by hedgerows but there are footpaths leading from the site giving views across undulating arable farmland. A public footpath runs along one side of the site from the site entrance and is used by local people to walk their dogs, and there was evidence that not many use a poop scoop! Although this is behind the sparse site hedge, their dogs tend to wander through into the site uncontrolled, and this could be a problem for campers with dogs. At the time of my visit the 'heated' toilet block, although very clean, was certainly not heated and in fact I couldn't get any hot water out of the basin taps. Perhaps they needed to be run for awhile until the hot water gets through. However, there was only one other unit apart from myself and I am sure during the summer months things would be different. Sixpenny Handley is a pleasant little village with a shop/post office, a butchers, and a pub. The shop sold a few basic supplies but I struggled to find something substantial enough to make a decent meal. The butchers sold some excellent sausages though, and an assortment of meats, cheeses, pickles, and even bottles of wine. Both the shop and butchers closed shortly after lunch on the Saturday so I would suggest stocking up with food in advance. The local pub was a friendly place but perhaps not a family atmosphere.mostly males full of beer and testosterone.darts, pool, and loud music. On the whole, a reasonable rural site in a pleasant area with friendly people but a little bleak in the winter months.

A very nice caravan and campsite on the border of Wiltshire and Dorset, has well serviced pitches and excellent all round facilities incl laundry and drying. The site is within easy reach of Salisbury, Shaftesbury and a little further Bournemouth. The village of Six Penny Handley has a very good mini mart as well as post office and a very snug pub all only 5 mins walk from the campsite. The campsite does have it's very own on site cafe that sells hot cooked breakfast's to order
Mr & Mrs Judd gave us a very warm welcome and are the perfect couple to be running this very nice campsite. We'll certainly be returning there again.

This was a lovely site, we really enjoyed our stay here. The site was well drained and coped with the extreme downpours very well. The toilet facilities were excellent, lovely hot showers, regularly cleaned, disabled facilities which also doubled up for a family shower room which I found a godsend with all my little ones, Great reasonably priced laundry facilities & the Barn we were so kindly allowed to use was just what we needed with the bad weather we had. The site owners were always on hand to help, be that pulling caravans off or showing you how to use things. I will certainly look forward to returning back. Thank you for a lovely stay.
