I arrived on site early evening. Very pleasant first impressions. I was greeted as I parked my motorbike and shown into the office. Plenty of leaflets given to me with information about the site. I was guided to a quiet field behind the 2 static caravans as I had no children.
The site itself is spotlessly clean, the facilities are more than adequate and were always very clean. I chose to use the toilet/shower block for rallies as the shower had controllable heat and stayed on until you turned it off. The new shower block is just as clean and warm and again it was spotless. In the dish washing room there was a box of books, I borrowed one, finished it during my four night stay and returned it, a brilliant idea to have books you can borrow. There were also plenty of leaflets in there on various places of interest. Even though there were quite a few children on site over the weekend, I was not disturbed them on the field I pitched my tent in.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay and if I am ever that way again it is a site I would definitely use again.

My partner and I stayed for the Summer Solstice weekend and were so pleased we chose this site! The facilities were really good and plentiful, there being a brand new 'barn' housing a smart second toilet/shower block and restaurant where a variety of breakfasts were on sale on weekend mornings. (On weekdays the village Post Office does breakfast!)The older toilet/shower block is just as clean, with free constant hot water. There are also washing and drying facilities and a freezer for common use. We found the location perfect for touring in every direction, being handy for Salisbury, Dorchester and the New Forest to name but a few, but also enjoyed checking out the village and surrounding fields. All in all I would not hesitate to recommend this site to couples and families alike, great value for money and super new facilities!

Second visit to this site after a two year gap. Could only stay for five nights (stayed for twelve last time). This is a lovely site at a reasonable price - paid £14.50 per night for a nice large level pitch with e.H.U. For a tent, two adults and two dogs.
The new toilet block is wonderful and always kept clean with plenty of free hot water. 'The Shed' which is part of the new block serves fantastic breakfasts - only open at weekends when we went but I think will be open all week in high season - I went for the 'Hungry Campers' breakfast which was freshly cooked using local produce and was delicious!.
The site is ideal for dogs as there are fields all round the site where they can be exercised off the lead - also Martin nature reserve a five minute drive towards Salisbury where you can spend most of the day (and park for free!).
We stayed Monday to Friday night and more or less had the site to ourselves until Friday when the weekenders start to arrive. Although the site was quiet when we were there I know they do hold rallies there on a regular basis when the site can become very busy but I think with the new facilities there shouldn't be a problem with 'queues for the loo's'. Their website has details of when rallies are being held so I would check this or phone to make sure if you prefer the 'quieter life' like me.

A very warm welcome on arriving by the owners, steve judd and his wife. They gave us the pitch in the small field next to the donkey field, the views were stunning looking out for miles, very quiet and peaceful. The toilets, showers, wash basins were very clean, hot water at all times and plenty of it. The grass is cut regular to a high standard The new all weather complex is just on finished which includes a cafe and a mezzanine level where you can sit in easy chairs for peace and quiet. The village shop has every thing you could want, there is a pub, post office, hardware shop, very pleasant village, visited site three times and will definitely be going back Plenty of places to visit from historic houses and castles to pleasant towns and picturesque villages with plenty of thatched cottages.

Lovely site. We went as a party of 4 tents, 10 people for 3 nights. The owners more or less let us choose where we wanted to pitch. The shower / toilet block was always immaculately clean and the showers were the best ever (in the new block. Didn't visit the old block). There was also a family shower / toilet room and a disabled toilet. The pub in the village was only a 5 minute walk away and we had an excellent meal there. The landlord was most helpful and friendly and the food was all homemade. The village shop was good.Had almost everything you could need and prices were not too bad either. Will be going back again as we all loved it there and would like to have stayed longer.

Just returned from a Easter weekend break at Church farm. This is our second visit having been there last June and we will definitely be returning again. The site is set in a tiny village with only the essential village shop and a pub. It is a small predominantly flat site spread over two fields, however I'm informed that there are 3 other fields that get used in peak times which make it much much bigger. he new showers and toilet block was open and made this a very luxurious site for the basic camper looking for a tranquil country setting with no onsite entertainment other than the church bells and wildlife -perfect. There is a proposed club room, which may steal some of the rural charm, still being constructed. Of note there is only one cash point in the village and this is not open regularly.

Have been to Church Farm numerous times for a UKCampsite meet.
Its basic but toilets are clean, but on last visit 0ctober 08 they were looking a little tatty.
A short walk into the village takes you to the village stores great shop that sells everything,We didn't have to use the larger supermarkets which is good as they are approx 10 odd miles away :(
A nice pub.
Helpful owners.
Basic play area.
Approx 40 minute drive to Weymouth.

Bit more mixed than most peoples views on Church farm for me. It wasn't helped by the lady who greeted my wife in the office being really miserable and bordering on rude. But from other comments I think that might have been a case of timing. Still, we got to our pitch which was sloping (which I think they all are to some degree) and pitched up. The most irritating problem was that the electric kept tripping in our row of units so in the end we basically used everything on gas, which was OK as I had plenty of it but still annoying on the first night. I would keep this in mind if you are staying here in colder weather as heaters will be needed and they pull a fair amount of amps and if you use the water heater on electric, it is likely to be too much for it. So just use maybe one electric heater on 1000w and everything else on gas if you can, and if everyone does the same then it should be fine.
The shower itself got a 10 out of 10 from my better half, just need some more of them please. There was soap by the wash basins but there is no hairdryer. The entry to the loos are by coded lock so little ones need to be taken but that is no bad thing.
Nice little village and as people say there are a couple of shops and a pub, the church is nice too and an interesting graveyard.
The road from Shaftsbury to Sixpenny has a section called the Zig Zag and is a bit like an alpine pass on a smaller scale but I wouldn't want to try towing a van along it. There is a quite big Tesco just as you enter Shaftsbury if you need it.
We were only there a few days so didn't get out and about much but it is pretty central for places to visit. Salisbury to the north and Poole to the south.
We were there with other UKCampsite.co.uk members and would visit again with them (as it is the people and not the place), but I don't think we would pick it as a place to go just for us. Just a couple of annoyances too many. So a 5 out of 10 from us.

Our return trip to Church Farm for another May Half term's camping!
We were pleased to find the same good welcome as we had previously, although this year we were directed to the main field and were a little more limited as to where we could pitch as we arrived on the tail end of a rally which had churned some of the rain sodden fields up.
However our large family group found a good space for our three large tents, camper van and gazebo.
Again the facilities were spotless, dispite the constant rain and mud. The children were particularly pleased that this year we were in view of the small play area so spent 90% of their waking hours in the rain on this.
The building work was adjacent to our pitch but in no way obtrusive or noisy, and we were not concerned about safety even when the 6 ton fork lift was driving round the building area!
Church Farm is becoming one of our favourite sites, partly due to the location and surroundings, but also as the owners whilst improving the facilities constantly, are not jumping on the band wagon with their pricing structure!
After 2 trips totalling 8 full days of constant heavy rain and we still love this campsite.

We arrived on the Friday for 2 nights and it was a quiet site with plenty of space. We chose to pitch near the children's play area as having 4 wee ones with us, we could keep a watchful eye from our chairs. Although the play area is a only couple of swings and a climbing frame, there is also plenty of space to play ball games and run about. And by 9 o'clock all children were in bed, so no late night noise. It is a safe and well maintained site with a new shower block being built. This will enhance the site as at the moment there is one good shower in each mens/ladies which obviously got busy. I discovered on our 2nd day that there were more showers outside the main block that you had to make a small contribution for and were a bit rough and ready, but were hot and did the job.
The village has a pub and a couple of shops which have the basics.
Longleat is not too far away.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at church farm and I would definitely go back.
