Agree with most of comments by other reviewers I would say if you camp between the white markers you are not 20 paces from neighbour and a bit of a fire risk. Toilet/showers are clean and warm but please can we have soap dishes on the wall in showers and hangers around the washbasins to hang your gear/towel on!
We did use the restaurant and the food was good but not cheap.

Stayed for 3 days Thursday to Sunday. A well planned site, they have different areas for e. G. Families, adults, groups, rallies etc. Excellent and well-kept facilities, including a superb recently built washroom/toilet area. It's warm, very clean, high-standard tiling and ceramic washbasins, good, (not coin-op) showers. There's a bar/cafe, and lots of space. Great location, quiet but a very short walk into a very nice village with pub, shops including butchers and mini-market. Highly recommended for a late season stay. Nice towns to visit: Sherborne and Fordingbridge. There were no children at time of visit, so cannot comment on child-friendliness.

Lovely peaceful location in the heart of a beautiful village. Our pitch was open and sunny. It was lovely to hear the clock chime in the hour and hear church bells on Sunday.
We stayed here to visit the Dorset steam fair which is approx 20 mins away in Tarrant Hinton. I can't comment on the site's cafe as we didn't visit it. It has the potential to be a fabulous site, but the cleanliness of the shower/loo block lets it down. There are lots of notices written in the form of poetry, asking users to leave it clean and not to 'break the cleaner's heart' one ironically sitting amongst dead moths and flies, though the big fat black spiders in the windows and ceiling were more off putting. It looks like it has been a long time since the cleaner cleaned all but the most essential bits of the block. The shower heads were also in a grungy state.
The 10 second push button on the shower was very irritating. Although the showers were hot I was cold after because the water didn't run long enough. I wasn't the only one who thought this. As I saw someone washing their hair in the sink! The block would have been a lot warmer with a lower ceiling and also blocking up the incomplete wall between the men's and women's, not at all pleasant and left women taking showers a bit vulnerable! So with a bit of time, effort and investment this could be a great site.

Arrived here on Friday evening and stayed the weekend just gone. There were 4 of us, myself, my wife, 4 year old son and 15 week old son. Site is very well placed in a lovely part of South Wiltshire in a very “chocolate box English village”.
The site has excellent facilities and did not feel too crowded. We had our Higear Gobi Elite 4 and the pitch size was fine.
We did not spend too much time on the site as we only used it for a base to explore South Wiltshire. However we did stay long enough to use most of the facilities and for my son to play in the children’s area. We had a breakfast on Sunday morning, which was excellent.
There is a local pub, which we did not use and a local shop, which we did. You are supposed to depart at 11:00 but we managed to say till mid-afternoon which wasn’t a problem.
We don’t normally stay on the same campsite more than once as we like to see new things. However if I were in the area I would stay here again.
The only downside was the space we stayed on seemed to have stones everywhere 7 inches under the grass, so bend a few pegs. So not sure if there were foundations or just a bad place we pitched.

This is a fairly large site situated in a lovely area.
The village of Sixpenny Handley is very nice and has a pub plus well stocked convenience store just a short walk from the site.
The site itself has been spilt into several fields which can be allocated according to whether your party is a family, a group or those preferring somewhere a bit quieter.
Although our children are grown up the family field looked really good with plenty for younger children to do.
The shower and toilet block was fairly new, warm and clean with plenty of hot water.
The washing up area however was far too small for the size of the site and we had to queue to use either of the two sinks. The fridge/freezer was also inadequate and full to bursting.
There were two gates in and out of the site but one was always locked which caused a few problems for drivers.
The main reason I give this site a mediocre rating is the dreadful 'welcome' we received.
Having booked on the spur of the moment that morning, and not having been advised check in was at 2pm, we arrived 1. 30.
I apologised to the lady owner when she made this known and offered to come back later but she came grudgingly to the office anyway stating, yet again, that check in time was on the booking form (we didn't have one) the internet etc, etc.
Having already apologised I wasn't going to do it again.
She took our cash payment for the 3 nights stay without a single word of thanks and shoved the campsite information leaflet at me.
Her husband was very pleasant when he showed us around but we will not be returning.

We stayed at this site over the May Day bank holiday weekend.
The site consists of a number of fields - family, groups, etc. , and all are fairly well sheltered, and immaculatley well kept. Water points are plentiful, and, being in the Family Field, we were very close the the excellent facilities (toilets / showers / bar / restaurant / playgorund).
The family field surrounds a small play ground, with swings and climbing frames, but not so close that it feels like the kids are in your tent!
The restaurant and bar are very reasonable, with the food quality really good. The bar serves the local brew, which went down well.
Toilets and showers were well kept and modern.
Pitches were very big - the site wasn't that busy when we were there, so I guess that helps, but we never felt crowded at all.
Site owners make you feel very at home.
I would definitely recommend, and would go back.

This is a lovely site and very reasonably priced. My boy and I had a wonderful stay here. A really peaceful location, in a chocolate-box village and with easy access to all sorts of days out. The owners are friendly and helpful and there are good facilities, including an immaculate toilet/shower block, indoor washing up area, washing machine and fridge/freezer. The on-site restaurant looked good, though we didn't use it, and there is a well-stocked village shop and pub a few minutes' walk away.
The site itself is spacious and well-kept, with good large pitches. They have separate fields for families, adults only, groups, etc, so everyone should get as much peace or liveliness as they are looking for. There is also another field for dog-walking. The family field has a good play area; all the kids were having a great time together.
All in all, we have nothing negative to say.

Just got back from 1 night at this site. This was the first time taking a touring caravan anywhere, (have camped in tent before) so as you might expect we were the afternoon/ evening entertainment!. (yes it did take us that long to figure it all out - including a break to go and get the kids)
Site has a single track road with plenty of passing places leading to it. Friendly welcome with a choice of pitches. We were placed on pitch 31. Well, not the easiest for a first timer, but we reckon if we managed to pitch here we could pitch anywhere. Bit of a slope!. Some friendly experts next door helped us with some advice, and also the young guy who checked us in. He offered the use of a trolley jack to help level the caravan, and found some more concrete blocks for us, nothing was too much much trouble. Thank you!
The site is clean, play park for the 2 kids was amazing. We hardly saw them all evening. Showers are hot and toilet area clean. We did not use the games room, but it was certainly big enough with plenty to do. Wooded area to walk the dog, and they also have a dog free area, which includes the park.
We didn't explore the surrounding area as the purpose of the visit was to test the caravan out before taking it away further from home, but there is loads to do around Blandford, so you won't be bored. We definable go back again to this site, and hopefully spend a little longer.

We booked for a family weekend over the bank holiday, there were 12 of us in total aged from 3 - 65.
What a fantastic place, great staff & great facilities. There's even a bar/restaurant with good food at fair prices.
We loved it so much we stayed an extra night!
The kids had a brilliant time, they enjoyed the play frame and had loads of freedom in the family field.
It's so central to loads of places so you can explore Dorset.

We have just returned from staying over the bank holiday for a couple of nights. We found the pitch to be plenty big enough even for our 7mt beast. The site was almost full but was never noisy even with all the kids enjoying themselves. Was very impressed with the restaurant and bar area. I heartily recommend the local real ale, very tasty! The new shower/toilet facilities were always clean and never seemed busy, with plenty of hot water, even the older facilities were in good condition. Will be looking to return and would recommend this site
