Stayed here over Bank Holiday Weekend, just before the Dorset Steam Fair so site was pretty full, however pitch size was still large. Play park in middle of field to entertain kids. Toilets and showers were spotless. Owners had sensibly brought in portaloos and portashowers as site so busy. They are in process of building a new shower block and cafe serving breakfasts .
Steve and his wife (the owners) are very friendly and helpful.
Site is very picturesque overlooking the village church and was very quite considering the number of kids on site (ours included). We used the site to visit Longleat (approx 1hr) and Sandbanks (45mins)
No shop on site but there is a village shop which sells almost everything. There is also a pub in the village but didn't have time to visit.
Would definitely use site again.

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of the August Bank Holiday. It was fully booked, very busy.As others have said, there is only one shower for ladies and one for gents in the toilet blocks, but there was an extra one in the laundry, and one for disabled people. There was plenty of hot water and all the facilities were very clean.
I'd recommend the general shop in the village. The people are really friendly and helpful, and appear to sell everything! Their prices are good as well.
The only thing I heard people complaining about was the church bell, which tolls the hours on the hour, all night. I didn't find it a problem, and our pitch backed on to the church yard.
I didn't use the cafe, which serves breakfast, but went to look and the food looked lovely.I'd definitely use this site again.

My boyfriend and I spent one night here midweek to break up our journey to a wedding in Somerset. Campsite was lovely, very flat fields and plenty of space to pitch. We were told we could pitch anywhere either side of the hedge in the middle of the field. There are also plenty of EHUs around the perimeter.
Didn't use the showers, but the toilets were lovely and clean with plenty of hot water and soap. Washing up facilities are also very good. There is a small playground with swings for children in the lower field where we camped, not sure about the other field. You can have barbecues as long as they are off the ground. They also do breakfast on site at weekends and bank holidays.
It was very quiet when we went, with only a few other campers, however this was a Thursday night so may get busier at weekends. Location is great for exploring Salisbury and surrounding areas, we went to Salisbury Cathedral and Stonehenge.
All in all, a fantastic site and great value for money. Perfect for a family break or anyone who wants a quiet, relaxed time.

We've just come back from a wonderful weeks stay at Church Farm. The site is predominantly for tourers and tents but also has two static caravans. For the past four years we have been proper campers using our tent. However, after a disastrous holiday cut short in Norfolk last August due to rain & mud we thought we would play it safe, although the weather was brilliant - not one drop of rain.
The village is pretty well equipped with a pub, newsagent & butcher etc. The site is a great base for visiting many attractions in the surrounding area. We went to Gold Hill (Hovis Hill in the 1970's ad) in Shaftesbury, Longleat, Isle of Wight, Stonehenge, The New Forest and Beaulieu Car Museum, Palace & Abbey. Although staying in a static, my step daughter tried out the showers and toilets and reported that they were immaculate. With really friendly owners and a beautiful countryside setting we couldn't have asked for more. We thoroughly recommend this site.

Church farm is a largish rural campsite divided into three areas. There was a friendly welcome on arrival and we were shown to our pitch on the lower field. Most pitches are spacious and we had a cracker in the top corner of the field.
When you visit this site if you use the B3081 from Shaftsbury watch out for the steep hairpin bends just after Cann Common. Good fun with a 23ft van on the back. The site itself was quite busy as there was a rally going on at the top field but even though there is only one shower for male and female and a disabled shower we only had to queue the once all week. The showers and toilets were spotless! The barn is currently being converted into a new amenities block but there is little disruption to the site and it didnt bother us at all.
The childrens play area is basic but my 4 yr old enjoyed it and there was loads of room for bikes, footy, kites etc. And then there's Old Jess the Donkey and Holly the sheep in an enclosure next to the site. We all enjoyed feeding them the odd apple and carrot!
Down in the lovely village there's a Post office, general store and pub. Further afield there is good shopping at Salisbury and Shaftsbury and the Tesco we used is on the A30 at Shaftsbury (10 miles)
We had a lovely day on the beach at Weymouth which took less than an hour to get to and also visited the Haynes Motor museum at Sparkford near Yeovil which was a 40 minute drive and well recommended.
We had heavy rain aswell but the site didnt bog down and myself and the lad were quite happy playing footy outside.
We enjoyed our relaxing stay at Church farm and would recommend it and the next time we visit Wiltshire we will book in again!

Stayed at this site early September and had a wonderful experience. The site was quiet and split into smaller fields. Shower and laundry facilities were more than adequate. An on site cafe run by the owners sold breakfasts and burgers (breakfast every day for me) at very reasonable prices. The village was quaint and a variety of footpaths allowed pleasant walks into and around it. The local shops supply most of what you need and the local butcher provides a variety of local produce. We found this a nicely priced site with friendly owners and are looking forward to going back once they have converted the barn into washing and entertainment facilities. This looks like it will go from being a great site to a fantastic one.

Spent New Year at Church Farm. Toilet block very clean, large hot powerful showers although there is only 1 in each ladies and gents. There is also a disabled toilet/shower which is massive and perfect for washing the kids. The electric did trip a few times but was put straight back on. The pitches are very spacious and there's lots of room for the kids to run about. The local shop has all that you could ever need, except Yorkshire puddings! The one thing wanted on New Year’s Day! Salisbury and Shaftsbury are approx 15min drives away in either direction. Did feel that you needed to use the car though as it's like a sleepy village and so need to drive to go anywhere!

What a great site. Stayed for the bonfire ukcs meet. Very well organised brill. The site is in the centre of a lovely village and countryside with a lovely curcular walk. Clean toilets and showers only one shower though plus disabled. Large site with plenty of room. With easy access for dog walks. Would definitely recomend this site.

This is a lovely rural site situated on Cranbourne Chase, behind the church in the village. Open, quiet, and spacious, the site and facilities were well kept and clean, with an on-site cafe in higher season than my visit, which opened up for sunday breakfast on the day of my departure to cater for a rally, great! The site owners were friendly and helpful, and the small laundry and washing-up/information areas were a real asset. The village boasts pretty much everything you might need within easy walking distance, but dont expect a 24hr ASDA/TESCO etc it is after all a small village. My only gripe is security, because the site has a public footpath running across it, quite a few people can sometimes be seen passing through, and someone helped themselves to my bike! This can happen anywhere of course, and it hasn't put me off! I'll visit this site again for sure.

This is a huge site which is divided into fields so that it feels pleasantly small and there is enough hedge to pitch your tent beside. We visited for the Great Dorset Steam Fair, and the site was full to brimming. Even so, there were almost no queues for the facilities, which were clean and fine, and at night there was really no noise to speak of, which was astonishing, given the number of people there. The childrens' play area in the middle of the site was also inoffensive both in look and noise. The whole site was level, clean and very pleasant, we shall go back again next year. There is a shop in the village that sells pretty much everything you might want. The site offers breakfast in the mornings, and they are excellent, but if you go late there is a long, long wait, We waited over an hour for ours on Sunday morning. It didn't matter, as we weren't in a hurry, but we were certainly hungry by the time it came!
