Most of the reviews focus on the location which is superb and I have nothing to add there. The caravan pitches, however are very close together, dangerously so I would consider. We also had to leave early due to one of our dogs having a serious illness. We were refused a refund and a sign stating no refunds was pointed out to us. It wasn't pointed out to us when we were booking in. Minor point but we lost out on £19.00 and out of principle wouldn't return.

What fabulous scenery - We stayed here for three nights and it was a lovely site - very clean and tidy, showers were spotless. When we were here it felt like gale force winds and I did not sleep well for fear of the awning being blown away, but it kept the dreaded midgies at bay. The play park was excellent for the children and away from the water. The shop was well stocked with pegs etc. but you would need to go into Ullapool to do any shopping for your meals but there is a Somerfield there. The laundry facilities are clean £4 for a wash but the dryer does not take long at all. Nearby Ullapool is a lovely town and I would highly recommend the boat trip around Isle Martin, and the swimming pool in Ullapool is great. There are many nice shops and bars / restaurants to go to.

Fabulous site, fantastic views and most pitches overlooking the water. Tent area was a bit further back and more sheltered. Only stayed one night returning from the Hebrides but would definitely stay again. Well stocked shop, very friendly and helpful lady on reception. Drive over waste disposal point for motorhomes was good. Only slight gripe was that one toilet block was closed, so had short wait for the shower, but otherwise it's a little piece of heaven.

This is a lovely site, with friendly people who make you feel at home, even though they are constantly keeping the site looking tidy & clean. We initially booked for 4 nights and stayed 10. The views are magnificent. The toilet & shower block was cleaned regularly & there was always plenty of hot water. The wash-up area must have one of the best view's of any site. Don't think I have ever enjoyed washing up so much! Would visit this site again & wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Out of over 12 sites in Scotland in the Highlands this year this was my favorite. Very clean very tidy, very helpful staff, if she's not at reception she will spot you! Always busy round the site but will drop evrything to come to your assistance. This is the lady who seems to do everything.... knows the local area etc.
Lovely sunsets over the distant islands, seals and otters at play in the evenings, good fishing from the small pier..... my first time... caught two mackeral and ate them both. And they were better than the two we bought from Ullapool the same day just a few miles away. Cant fault this place. Midges are in abundance though.... my advice... buy the burning sticks from reception.... works wonders. Excellent site and will include it in every trip to the highlands.

Great site, great location and if you like the great outdoors there's loads to do locally. Friendly staff, although the shop has a limited range. There were plenty of toilets which were clean and the showers were hot and free.
The play area is a little tired but we found the harbour area and little 'pier' plus the pebbly lochside beach provided enough entertainment for our two year old who hasn't stopped talking about all the boats she saw including the big ferry which she thought was going to Balamory!
The electric hook up was fine and we had a choice of superb pitches to choose from - all of which overlooked the loch. The site is a little exposed in stormy conditions however we were there during the gales in August and it was spectacular if a little rocky!
We plan to return and suspect it will become a favourite.

Visited this site end July 2005 with our caravan. Dont think it was actually ever full during our stay either. A quieter ste with most of the level pitches facing the sea. Most if not all are on grass, but with loads of room between you & your next door even when your awning is up. However pitches are available futher back & more sheltered against the wind which sometimes was pretty breezy!
We loved it & stayed an extra few nights. The veiw from your front window is superb, easy fishing from 20 feet away is great (all the mackrel you can eat!)
Cost us £19/ night with awninmg + hook up - (2 adults + 1 child) 2 Clean shower blocks which never seemed to be queuing. Showers have a low flow of water, but the flip side is that they are always hot - and free. Why waste? Good Laundry facilities, & washing up room with I think 4 sinks (at least)
Good kids playground, pleny of room to play ball games & fantastic views north to a 2000' plus mountain - see their web site.
Good in that you don't get noisy drunks back from the pubs but a little less immediately to hand. But Ullapool is 3 miles and a scenic drive away. Recommended.

This site sits on a small peninsula about 3 miles north of Ullapool with fantastic views out to the islands and also inland to the hills. Facilities are adequate, including a laundry and there is a shop on site selling various bits and pieces such as fishing tackle, camping equipment, maps, kites and some foodstuffs. There is a nice pebble beach in front of the site, ideal for teaching the kids to skim stones.
The facilities of Ullapool are nearby but beware if planning to cycle as there is a big hill inbetween and my wife and kids refused to try it!

May 2005 A nice site in a stunning location, reasonably priced and close to Ullapool which is has a decent town centre. Free showers and the washers and dryers were coin operated so you didn't need to bother with tokens. Excellently situated to explore the far northwest of Scotland and its fantastic beaches.
Our only gripe was that the toilet block which is near the tent pitches was closed and we had to walk to the block nearest to the caravans. Also the shop wasn't always open but as there seemed to be only one person who ran the site and she was always busy elsewhere, cutting grass etc that was expected. If she spotted you she stopped what she was doing and sorted you out.

July 2004 This was a fantastic site, and I can't believe there have been no reviews so far. Welcome very nice, facilities great- toilets clean and tidy. Kids loved play area and shop was very handy . But, the most important and special part of this site is the view. The site is set on a promontory, surrounded by the loch and sweeping mountain ranges. Simply stunning. The sunsets were spectacular and make fantastic scenic photos.
