Booked to stay at this site after coming off the ferry from Stornoway, if we had known just how great this site was we would have stayed longer.
Beautiful location, plenty of pitches with electric hook ups. Shower facilities and wash up rooms were immaculate, you could not fault this site at all.
Definitely worth a walk along the beach, make sure you take a camera.
Apparently the scones and coffee served within the shop/reception area are to die for, unfortunately we had already left site when we were told this! Good excuse and reason to return.

Ardmair point is a great site overlooking the loch
We had a pitch right next to the beach
Plenty of ehu's and waterpoints.
There are 2 facility blocks on the site, 1 behind the reception/shop and a newer one farther along. They were always spotless.
I don't know were people are coming from regarding the owners/staff? I always found them friendly and very helpful, even helping us push our caravan around at 7 am in the morning.
I have to mention the cafe/shop, they make and sell great homemade cakes.
A well placed site for touring the area

This is a family run site situated about three miles out of ullapool and has stunning views and beautiful sunsets on a clear night.
Situated right next to the water, pitches all have sea views (unless you want to pitch in the more sheltered area behind reception) with a choice of hard standing or grass. The grass looked like it had just been cut before we arrived but is obviously collected as we had no problems trailing grass into the caravan.
Once you have checked in at reception you can choose any pitch which is not already occupied or marked as reserved. Best to check first where signal is obtained if you like to watch a bit of tv and have no ariel or sat. Dish. Good signal obtained on pitch 7 unless thundery weather dictates differently.
There is a small shop and cafe on site which serves a good selection of the usual lunch time soups, snacks and sandwiches, all day breakfast and delicious fresh home-bakes. Fresh bread can be ordered daily at reception. This is always our first stop after travelling and we have never been disappointed with the food here. Better than some higher end establishments we have encountered!
There are two toilet, wash-up and laundry blocks. One is more modern than the other, the older one being more basic but perfectly adequate.
Both are kept spotlessly clean. There are various points for clean water supply and grey and chemical toilet waste as well as rubbish disposal.
We tend to pitch nearer the older block so have never used the other one.
There is always hot water available in the showers, contrary to earlier reviews. The key is to turn on the water and exercise a wee bit of patience till it runs hot. Which may be a minute or so!
For those who enjoy a spot of fishing, its a stones throw from wherever you are pitched. Nothing guaranteed of course but both mackerel and trout a possibility. Just a case of being in the right place at the right time. The odd seal or two pop their heads up from time to time so the fish are obviously there.
As far as we are concerned, all the staff are friendly and helpful. It is an efficiently run operation without being regimented and really if everyone lives considerately within the very reasonable guidelines there should be no reason to complain!
We have been here two years running and have no hesitation recommending this lovely site.

Position next to the beach great, we had a lovely walk on the beach and enjoyed watching the seals. The facilities were acceptable but we have had better.
The shop/cafe on site seemed well stocked and well used {we only bought bread)
The walk up to the mast gives great views.
The site owner wasn't friendly/welcoming which is a shame.

Greeted cheerfully by owners Son on arrival. The Old Man should take a leaf out of his book!
The hard standing pitches were level and a 'God send' in the incessant rain. Loch side location was beautiful when the sea mist lifted. Standing up in the horizontal wind was a real challenge.
The site became full on the second night we were there. Luckily they opened up the additional shower / toilet block.
Facilities are clean and the water was very hot at the time.
Ullapool is only 3 miles away and worth a 'mooch'. There is a supermarket where 'every little helps' and a number of local shops selling most comestibles.

Beautiful location about 4 miles from Ullapool. The main block was closed and the site was VERY quiet. We parked on hard standing (gravel) near to the secondary toilet block. The reception and shop was only open between 16. 00 hours and 17. 00 hours.
The smaller facilities block was old but well maintained. However there was no heating on (I could only find a very small electric blower) and I was unable to get any hot water. It was very cold and I would have expected the heating and hot water to be on. We spoke to other motorhomers and they all said that they felt the shower and toilet block were too cold to use. Fortunately we have our own on-board facilities.
There are plenty of fresh water points and there is a drive over grey water disposal point.
The site has spectacular views and plenty of places to walk the dog.
Will we go back? Certainly not unless the weather was very warm due to the cold facilities block. I think we will try the site actually in Ullapool next time.

We have just spent two weeks at ardmair, ( we had meant to move up to Durness, but as we more or less had the camping field to ourselves, decided to stay put!) and, as stated by everyone, this site is excellent. There are two facility blocks - both always very clean. Tents can pitch on the sea front, (but it can get very breezy) though I think only if they want electric hookup.
Ullapool is just about our favourite place on the west coast - and fish and chips from The Seaforth(best anywhere)
The only fault with Ardmair has nothing to do with the site itself, but everything to do with some of the dog owners in caravans and motor homes, who seemed to be under the impression that the tent field was the dog walk! I understand that accidents can happen, but, some owners walked around in circles until the dog had done the business, granted they picked up after the dog, but they have obviously had never put up a tent to find the smell of dog poo just outside the door. The site has signs stating that dogs must be exercised off site, so maybe these owners cannot read, or are just plain lazy!

We used this site as a stop over before catching the ferry to Lewis. The location was beautiful. All the motorhome pitches are on the gravel one row back from the Loch side. That didn't spoil the view at all. Facilities were very good, clean and well maintained. Free showers were a bonus. Unfortunately the site shop was closed by the time we got there and was closed again by the time we got back from our day out. The staff we did meet were pleasant and helpful, I assume it was the site owner that collected our money on the first morning and made us very welcome. We went into Ullapool to stock up. The large car park by Tescos is free and has plenty of room for Motorcaravans.

Site on shore of sea loch around 4 miles from Ullapool. Site is on busy main road. Nothing available locally except on site facilities without going to Ullapool. Reception is in tea room and small shop on site. Warden/owner not particularly friendly but directed me to use either the hard standing or non-sloping grass pitches. Wifi £5 a night! Toilet block on main site - female had 2 showers, no privacy cubicles. There is another toilet block based in the tent field but I did not go in this one. Dog walking off site was down past a jetty and past some holiday cottages and boat moorings. Otherwise there was a stony beach. Not greatly impressed and would not return. Much nicer sites on the west coast.

This is a beautiful site in a lovely location near Ullapool. Its a family owned and run site with a small restaurant serving homemade meals and cakes! The warden was very friendly and helpful. Facilities were good with hot showers - 3 in the ladies but I believe there is another shower/block at the other end of the site. There was a children's play area and also the lovely pebble beach to play on. Will definitely be back.
