The owner was very friendly and helpful. Only stayed one night on the way out to the Outer Hebrides, but will use it again. The showers may be a bit on the small side but the owner is up grading the facilities gradually. It has also got some stunning views of the loch even from the washing up facilities. When we were there we also had a brilliant sunset across the water

Better for motorhomes than tent campers - motorhomes get to pitch right on the sea front and the location is absolutely stunning! Couldn't recommend this site highly enough for campervans. However, tents are in a field in the middle of the of the site. This is a bit of a basin and not all pitches will have views. I pitched on a higher section which backed onto the luxury lodges which face the sea on the north side. On the night I was there this was a mistake as occupants of the lodges were using a jet ski for most of the evening and it was very loud and destroyed the peace completely.
Facilities were modern, more than adequate and clean. Shop and small café on site.
There's a small table and couple of chairs in the laundry which I suppose you could use if the heavens open but no shelter or anywhere to cook for campers in small tents (the guy on reception was non-plussed when I asked whether the site had a shelter and assured me that it was nae gonna rain that day, I could be certain of that! Of course it bucketed it down for two hours solid!)

Again another campsite which features in Scotland's top ten sites ( a fact the owner wasn't aware of) and fully deserves to be there.
Amazing views, we pitched Loch side and you have the chance of seeing Otters which some of the campers spotted, sadly we didn't but just knowing they were there made me happy! The variety of birdlife is fantastic and you wake with only the sound of waves lapping on the shore and birdsong. Hearing the Cuckoo was lovely.
The facilities are good and exceptionally clean. They have a lovely tea room serving homemade cakes.
The owner hasn't been there long and was discussing improving the facilities, which are acceptable as they are but with improvements could make this campsite one of the very best in Scotland.
We wish the owner all the best and hope to return in the future.

Glad to be back! A well kept site on a stony beach with a choice of grass and hard standings. Few are fully level but the outlook is superb.
The pitches are narrow, with a self service choice. There is a small shop for basics and a café on site.
There are only 2 male showers that are clean but cramped ( for the fuller figure!), but at least the hot water is unregulated. The toilet block does, however, lack any heating.
Recommended, despite the shortcomings that the owners are gradually addressing. These include a lack of an adequate terrestrial TV signal. An on site booster might be a reasonable expectation given the pitch price of £20.

The views from this site are amazing! We only stayed for 2 nights whilst on our tour of the Highlands but would happily have stayed longer. Ideal place when getting on or off the ferry to Stornoway. The facilities were always clean, plenty of toilets but only 2 showers in both the ladies and gents and these are a bit on the small side. A couple of bin points but no facility for recycling.
Site is just a few miles from Ullapool, we didn't stop there but looked nice enough from what we saw coming off the ferry.
Would definitely revisit this site in future

Stayed here for 6 nights whilst ticking off a few hills south of Ullapool. The town is 3 miles south of the campsite on a good road, but not good for walking on as the traffic travels quite fast.
The location of the site is awesome, you are virtually straight onto the beach. Lots of birdwatching opportunities and if you get lucky you may see some mammals.
The site is very clean and tidy with only one toilet block open at our visit. It was never full although there are only two showers.
The cafe is open from May although we did not visit.
Friendly owner who was very keen to ensure everything was OK on site.

We loved this site. It’s a lovely location but there’s more to a site than a location. It’s the aspects of a site about which the owners control that matters. Here, they do it proud.
We were warmly welcomed, allowed to choose our pitch, great discount on Wi-Fi and given advance notice of weather warnings forecast. The site has a main central reception, shop and café, behind which are the toilets/showers, separate laundry area and separate washing-up facilities. There are secondary facilities further along the site. However, can’t comment on those as didn’t use them.
The main facilities were spacious, clean and the showers were the best we’ve used on a site in many years of camping. Hooray for one knob for water flow and another for temperature and none of the push-button nonsense. Last but not least, being campers we were able to freeze ice-packs daily, at no charge. We paid £20 per night for two adults and a tent with electric. Not cheap but not off the scale either.
Unfortunately, we had to cut our stay short because of the weather forecast predicting heavy rain and gale force winds for 48 hours. However, the management of the site were full of suggestions of re-locating elsewhere on site, accommodating to our suggestion of taking the tent down and booking into a B&B and returning when the weather cleared. They also offered to credit us with two-days site fees for a return visit. We chose the latter as our tent had already suffered a broken pole. We intend to return next year.

For a breath taking setting, you must visit this site! Right on the West Coast with fantastic views of mountains on one side and the sea on the other. Arrived a little later than expected, but reception was still open. Booked in nice and easy, and then set about pitching the tent - in a force 8 gale! As the site is very exposed, caravans are placed along the coastal edge. We were in a field to the rear of the toilet blocks. There was only a small hedge to use as protection from the wind, although it did help a little, we didn't get a very good nights sleep. But the site itself had good ground, so it was easy to get a few extra pegs in and make sure we didn't blow away! The facilities were pretty good, although there were many toilets, there appeared to be only 2 showers in the Male block. Would I visit again? Yes, but I would make sure the weather was a little more agreeable.

Fantastic site, we really enjoyed our stay here, we enjoyed it so much that we returned a few days later. The views are unbelievable and only 19. 50 a night including electric. ( this is a good price despite what last reviewer says).
Although I do with the last reviewer about the homemade cakes in the small cafe. They were fantastic and very reasonably priced, we also had a breakfast and it was the best we have had in a long time. I thought the shop was well stocked and had some really nice stuff.
I would recommend this site to anyone, and I think the owners ( who were very friendly) are doing a great job and it's only there second season.

This site is in a beautiful location on a lovely peninsula where the kids loved playing at being 'macca pakka' with the ultra flat stones.
We pitched our tent on the hill meaning we had lovely views and a light breeze to keep the midges away, unfortunately we found the ground very hard to get pegs in and twisted several ultra strong pegs as they went through the stony ground.
The coffee shop with the cakes during the day is lovely and a welcome break, however the shop stocks minimal supplies yet there is a Tesco 3 miles away in ullapool so it's understandable.
The facilities are dated and could benefit from a spruce up and the children's playpark has equipment in that is broken and needs updated but overall a nice site in a good position.
For the cost though it needs to get spruced up a bit more for next season.
