Biker friendly campsite, clean facilities, and the location is second to none. I visited mid April and only a few tents and camperhomes were on site. Excellent welcome and always friendly staff available for advice. Well stocked shop, even camping spares noted. Safe pebble beach with easy access. Only five minutes drive from Ullapool for the fish and chips! Will definitely visit again.

Good site with great views but can get a tad windy. We witnessed an awning being ripped over the roof of its caravan on our last visit ! There is a more sheltered field to the rear of the reception that we chose but it does not have a sea view.
If you are fortunate enough to avoid the wind then this site is super for adults and kids. Showers are good and there is a well stocked shop onsite too. Good wee playpark to keep the ittle ones amused Sunsets here will leave you wanting to come back for more every time.
Only a three mile drive to Ullapool where you will find everything you need. The pool is fantastic for the kids in the local leisure centre and they do a bouncy castle session twice a week in high season.

My 5th visit to Ardmair in the last 4 years.
Scores 10 out of 10 for the location, sunsets and the views. I was the only camper in early April, but 2 or 3 motorhomes around. Usual great friendly owners, always helpful with lots of information re wildlife and weather. Ideal location if you are walking or climbing in Inverpolly. Toilets clean and showers hot, you might have to wait 5 minutes for the water to get hot though!. The views from the dishwasing room and laundry are the greatest you are ever likely to find!
Only 3 miles to Ullapool if you need the bright lights, or to restock.

Me, my husband and our two children (5 and 7) spent 10 days here in the summer this year and absolutely loved it! Of course the area is great - inverewe, gairloch and the beautiful isle of lewis being among the must see's. The setting is stunning but the site has so much more to offer than that.
My favourite things are:-
The beach - we had some fantastic afternoons and evenings exploring the beach, I have never enjoyed rock pooling and seen so many interesting things before.
And also
The customer service - the people that run the site are really lovely and couldn't do enough for you.
We stayed extra nights and we will certainly be returning again the next time we visit Scotland. This is very unusual for us as we always like to explore new places - but when somewhere is so perfect why not go back???
Of course I am a perfectionist and when fully booked I do think that the caravans are placed too closely together but you get a lot of space in front and behind each pitch and this makes up for it.
My advice - give it a go - I don't think you will be disappointed!

Stayed here in June, beautiful location and wonderful sunsets! Staff were extremely helpful on checking in, with very good knowledge of local points of interest and can recommend places to visit and good eating venues. The site is kept very neat and the showers and toilets (2 blocks of facilities) were kept extremely clean, also plenty of hot water. The shop sells a variety of items for caravaning and camping as well as basic provisions - the fresh morning rolls and butteries were very good, there was also a good choice of wine. As one person on the site said 'the shop has everything you need and nothing you don't'. We had a front pitch (with hook up, they seem to be in abundance) overlooking the beach, the highlight of our stay was spotting an otter! The staff are happy to provide weather forecasts (which are pretty acurate) they also have a weather station, so can advise wind direction etc.Which was very helpful as we were canoeing. We launched our canoe from the beach, there is also a pebble slipway for dingies and ribs. We would definitely recommend the site and will be going back again next year.

After staying here for 3 day in the wind and rain we still had a great time , fishing was good to , the only thing that let this place down is that only one toilet block had hot water the other one was turned off , so no hot water in the cold is no good , but apart from that it was good, uallpool is a great place

As mentioned in other reviews this campsite has a fantastic setting right on the beach front, however as there is nothing within walking distance (the town of Ullapool is 3/4 miles away) We decided to stay only one night rather than the three we had booked. If the weather had been as it should for summer we would have stayed as the sites' facilities were very good. The toilet block was spotlessly clean and the showers hot. Our daughter thought the play area was fantastic and it was safe enough for her to ride endlessly around the site on her bike. The staff were friendly and willing to give advice on anything from fishing to taxis. The shop stocked basic provisions along with camping & fishing equipment. The pitches were not overcrowded and the site was probably about 3/4 full when we visited. The only problem for us was that we had booked a sea front pitch but on arrival this was on quite a steep slope therefore we chose one of the hardstanding pitches. Having said this, if passing we would definitely stay there again.

Found this site by chance, while touring the west coast in June 2007, only stayed one night, would have stayed longer if not booked into another site down the coast. Stoney entrance, site a bit basic, but all you need. Clean toilet block plenty of hot water, shop on site. TV reception not too good, satellite better, though did not use it as views were fantastic. Dont Pass this little site it's a gem, very peaceful and tranquil.

Just came back from two lovely days from this site. It is located in a truly beautiful part of the world with stunning sunsets and unbelievable scenery. Our two kids loved having a small camp fire on the beach and fishing for crabs off the small jetty! It was quite windy when we arrived but we were located in the most sheltered pitch they could offer for our super-sized tent - staff very helpful here! Toilets, showers clean and well maintained. I wouldn't mind having water taps a bit closer than just the main building though. Playground was great but my young kids actually prefered exploring the beautiful unspoilt beach! We have some magic memories of this place and will definitely be returning. I would strongly recommend a boat trip to the Summer Isles from Achiltiebuie a bit further up the coast. Ullapool is three miles away and has plenty of interesting shops and stores. If you want to feel part of nature and escape for a few days this place is perfect!

Superb site with wonderful views of Isle Martin and out to sea. Pitches virtually on shore. Toilet / shower block was kept scrupulously clean. Good power supply and washing up facilities. Two young ladies seem to do all the donkey work and they do it very well indeed! They even do all the grass cutting as well running the site shop. My water pump failed and would you believe they stocked a brand new one. Not bad for this part of Scotland. Three days became seven and we shall be going back again in May 2007. The Inverpolly nature reserve and a boat trip to the Summer Isles is a must.
