We visited this site due to it's closeness to Ullapool and the positive reviews on here. While the scenery and surroundings are undoubtedly breathtaking and the facilities itself are good, we have decided not to go back for the following reasons.
There is absolutely no where to walk your dogs safely, our 2 dogs ended up with very sore paws due to having to be walked on the beach and as it is a pebble beach, they both ended up with scraped, very sore paws.
Also, the rules of the camp state all dogs to be kept on leads at all times, which we totally understand, seems to be a rule that is only applied to some dogs as there was other people there that had dogs that were allowed to run free all about the park.
The welcome we received was lukewarm and when we were there, there was some atrocious weather to the point our tent (a vango vista so that tells you how bad it was as our tent was sturdy) ended up all ripped and ruined to the point we had to sleep in the car. The wardens just left us to it, no offer to help or nothing, we left the next day.
When we booked in, the warden put our debit card payment through on their wrong machine, she told me this approx an hour to 2 hours later and had to put it through again, which is fine, except she done this first before telling me and made another mistake as she charged me again and then refunded it, all this was done without my knowledge and once it was done, she came round and told me, in my opinion she should have checked with me first before taking more payments from my card without permission.
The toilets were clean, the shop was stocked with most supplies though at the weekend, basics like eggs, milk and bread were not available and yes plenty of place to camp but the poor welcome along with when I tried to ask some questions about where my hubby could fish etc. and was not really given any help at all, left me with a feeling we were not really welcome and a friendly atmosphere can really make a campsite.
The laundry was £4.00 plus 60p for powder which is the most expensive I have seen yet on a campsite and they charged 10p per block to freeze ice-blocks which there is no need for, in my opinion, and is the first time I have ever seen a campsite charge for this facility and as campers need freeze blocks all the time, I felt a bit taken advantage of especially as we were already paying £14 per night.
So in short, would we return no, I had to go into Ullapool 5 times when we there, what I spent in diesel I could have used to pay for the difference in staying at Broomfield and been on the door stop of Ullapool town.

The toilet block within the reception building is first class and is the only one I can recommend using. I am afraid the other 'shack' like building is clearly past its sell by date and badly in need of some TLC. A new roof has recently been added but otherwise the facilities must be as they were some 15 years ago. However they are very clean.
As ever the views across to Isle Martin and Loch Broom are why you stay here. I noted 3 Plovers sitting on 4 eggs on the beach stones. Very well camouflaged. Hope the chicks survive.
Ullapool, just down the road is a very interesting place to spend time. Try a sail on the Summer Queen out to the Summer Isles. The road to the Summer Isles through the Inverpolly reserve is decked with a flourish of wild Gorse; very pretty.

Stayed here for 1 night, almost stayed at the site in Ullapool town but so glad we didn't as the setting for this site is stunning. We were sited right on the front near the reception with views out to sea and had great views of the Calmac ferries going backwards and forwards to Ullapool.
Very friendly welcome at reception and as mentioned previously, an excellent shop selling virtually everything you can think of in relation to camping etc.
The site facilities were good, showers hot and all clean. Laundry facilities were good.

We had a few days here in August what a setting! The man at reception (don’t know whether he was the owner or not but he never stopped) was very friendly as the last reviewer said a fantastic shop, well stocked and very diverse. He gave us pitch 3 almost opposite the shop and like most of the caravan pitches looking out toward the summer isles. We had a grassed pitch there were a few hard standing but I don’t think the view could have been bettered.
The facilities were split into two blocks we used the one next to the shop. It was never busy or crowded, the showers were warm but hey they were free. My wife used the laundry and found it adequate. I could only find one chemical disposal and this was at the second set of facilities so quite a walk.
Ullapool is a 10 minute drive if you want a drink or a meal. We did so on a couple of occasion using the pub on the harbour fantastic Fish. There is also a well stocked Tesco and a single Shell Garage.
Enjoyed the walk along the beach on an evening would definitely recommend this site.

Our first holiday for ages we've not gone to CC site. Bit worried but no need to be! Booked for 9 nights but stayed for 11 and would have done whole hol here if wind hadn't picked up threatening our awning. View from sea front pitch absolutely superb whether waking up to or sitting out at end of wonderful day watching sunsets. All amenities well kept and as said before great shop selling everything. Good play area for kids but ours were never out of the safe water or round at pier fishing for crabs. Ullapool great place too always busy and plenty to do and fine choice of eating places and entertainment.

Spent the weekend here - our first visit. Absolutely gorgeous location and the weather was very good. On arrival, our first impression was that the site was fantastic, and this impression lasted the whole weekend. We found the owners friendly and helpful though very busy in the well-stocked shop. (I wanted to leap over the counter and give them a hand!). The shop itself carries a very wide range of camping stuff, snacks and drinks, ice-creams, fresh bread etc. Plenty of citronelle candles to help combat the midgies. An interesting shop and you'll find it hard to leave without buying something! You name it, they have it.
As for the midgies themselves, not a problem as long as there's a small breeze. It's when it's very still that they come out and have a go at you. Repellants work well. I thought they'd be more of a problem than they were, so I was pleasantly surprised.
There are two toilet and shower blocks - the one in the main building is most-used while the other is either not known about or forgotten about and unlikely to have any queues. Once we discovered it, we used the second one and never had to queue for the showers. Both blocks have inside washing up areas. Plenty of hot water at all times and all found to be relatively clean. (It's the clients who make the mess usually, and if I may say I thought the campers and caravaners at this site during our stay were all pretty decent and respectful).
It you're looking for a decent campsite up north, this is it. You won't be disappointed. Lovely spot as I say, and I really didn't want to leave. Looking forward to another weekend!

Outstanding site, best we have stayed on. Fantastic location, stunning views, warm welcome from site management, well stocked shop with fresh daily produce, shop open all day, great choice and space of pitches, level site, well separated pitches, kids play area, overall the site is quiet, restful - the perfect place to relax and unwind.
Toilets and showers spotless, kitchen area clean, facilities cleaned regularly throughout the day.
Visiting Frenchman provided an interesting choice of pizza like meals one night.
Tents and caravan/camper vans/motor homes well separated in different areas of the site. A large site with choice of pitches.

Just thought we'd reply regarding the siting of units on the park. We have some front pitches overlooking the sea that are suitable for motorcampers. We accept bookings for pitches either by email or telephone and a deposit is paid to reserve a space. People making a booking are usually reserved a front pitch unless they prefer to be located on the hardstanding area. So it is possible for us to advise someone checking in that we do not have any front pitches available (as they are booked). We try our best to locate everyone where they wish to be but in July when its very busy it is advisable to make a reservation.

On arrival told by the male warden that a couple of pitches left over looking the sea. Sent us to reception where the female warden told us she doesn't allow campers or motorhomes on the grass therefore we couldn't have a sea view pitch. Several other campers told the same and all parked on the hard standing.
Two hours later 2 larger motorhomes parked on the grass sea view pitches - all seemd to depend on which warden you saw.
On arrival we didn't find the female warden to be particularly friendly -shame as the site was absolutely lovely and a friendly face can make a site.
The facilities were very good. The views from the site were incredible. Ullapool is a 10 minute drive if you want a drink or a meal. The beach on the site was perfect to walk along and children were happily playing in the water.
All in all an excellent site - slightly marreed by the strange ever changing rules on where campers can and cant park.

We only stayed one night on this campsite on our return from the Outer Hebrides. The site is on excellent location on the beach with a good toilet block and very convenient for coming and going on the Ullapool ferries.
The warden was very helpful and friendly and they had an excellently stocked general store and ‘camping shop’ on site.
