We have just spent our first weekend camping at this park had a excellent time, however just one suggestion to make come on dog owners please poop and scoop if your dog has a accident beside the tents or the children's play areas. Plenty of things for the children to do, I do think you should have a look at the pond area and put a small fence around it looks great but when you have small children's it is a worry.
Toilets and shower area kept clean, and the bisto, coffee shop is furbished to high standards( could be opened later at the weekend for late diners). Will return later in the year.

Lovely site, nice and quiet. Great activities for all age ranges including pool table, table tennis under cover and tractors and space hoppers scattered around the campsite. Toilets were clean with hot water. Shop on site/cafe selling fruit and veg and some camping essentials with two full size trampolines next to it.
Campsite is set out with a lake in the centre. Lots of nice walks around the area some especially for young children and for them to see farm animals.
We stayed for one night only as it was a practice for my friends.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely site. We were in a group with 8 children all older teenagers and never once did we hear any of them say the dreaded `I`m bored` comment, they spent hours entertaining themselves on all of the free play equipment that is available, and to be fair so did some of the adults, its amazing how you can turn in to a child again when you see a spacehopper! The site itself is really well looked after, Peter the site manager is very approachable and helpful, he is always around and about making sure everywhere is kept clean and tidy. Yes the showers/toilets are at the moment in porta cabins and are fairly basic, but they were extremely clean whenever we used them, there are plans for a purpose built shower block. The only thing I felt the site would benefit from would be a small campsite shop, there is a lovely farm shop on site, but I mean a shop that stocks the essentials for camping such as washing up liquid, toiletries, spare tent pegs, gas etc. Already booked up and looking forward to going back for the Aug bank holiday.

Stayed for the weekend, 2 families with 2 children 14yrs and 2 children 6 and 7yrs and 1 dog. Site was great, really big pitches 10m x 7m so plenty of room. Site is close to A66 but didn't notice traffic noise. Plenty of really nice clean dog walks.
Toilet/shower blocks were portacabins but very clean and adequate, only 2 showers (not very warm or powerful) so probs need to queue at busy times. New toilet/shower blocks to come soon.
Peter the warden really nice guy very helpful and always around to help and chat.
There was plenty for kids to do, 2 playgrounds 1 with 2 big trampolines, go carts space hoppers (big enough for adults too), play hut with more games, separate games room with table tennis and pool table, and all free.
Had a fantastic weekend here will definitely go again.

We were in two minds whether to go on this trip due to the horrible rain, however its not to far from home and the forecast looked promising.
Very pleased we did! it was great there was so much for the kids to do climb, dig, lego, jenga, table football, trampolines, colour, football, badminton and the list goes on.
It was a lovely well kept site nice to open the tent and see the lake and ducks on a morning.
As I said very happy kids=very happy parents.
Toilets and showers were fine ok not purpose built but they were clean and the shower was hot.
Popped into Barnard castle on the Sat to stock up for BBQ and kids couldn't wait to get back.
Also it was lovely and quite by 11. 30 no noise and if there was a problem, the chap who runs the site is on hand and gives you his number.
We are planning to go back soon only this time we will be in our caravan.

Great Site, this is the 4th time we have visited the site and credit to to management and particular Peter( park Warden) for all the effort put in.
The park is improving month on month and given time will be a 1st class site.
Yes the shower block is not the best but its an improvement on last yr. The kids have a great time, using trampolines, karts, and space hoppers provided.
The pitch size is very generous and with good views to compliment. There is a great dog walk just across the site entrance and plenty of other walks to choose from.
The cafe is available for tea, coffee, treats etc, also the club house has good facilities as well.
We will be continued supporters of this site and expect to visit several more times this yr. Barnard castle is a 10 min drive away and lots of other local attractions. All in all, great value and even better service.

Just returned from a great trip to Thorpe Farm Centre. We arrived Friday evening and after driving through a rather worryingly tumbled down, gravelled entrance way, area we arrived on a lovely, green picturesque site.
Well tended grassed areas with a lovely pond in the centre surrounded by well maintained mature trees. Met by Peter, friendly campsite manager we were shown to a pitch and he even helped us to unhitch!
Loads for 2 boys (9 and 7 ) to do llamas, donkeys, lambs etc to look at and stroke, space hoppers and go-karts around the site for children to use at will. A games room with Lego, Jenga, table football etc.
Toilets are basic but clean and well monitored for cleanliness. A disabled unit Peter said could be used as a family room was useful.
We bought items at the well stocked farm shop, lovely fresh reasonably priced, produce and bakery items as well as some more 'gourmet' items. There is also a bistro which seemed well used but we didn't eat there.
We stayed on the campsite till late afternoon Saturday enjoying plenty of space and things to do and then headed 10 mins drive away to Barnard Castle and went to the Castle (English Heritage) dogs allowed, great for children to explore and wonderful views of the River Tees.
Site is close to the A66 great for ease of finding and transport links. Some noise but not a problem for us.
Blessed with good weather but helped by a lovely campsite and manager we paid an extra £5 to stay till 5pm on Sunday.
We paid £22 a night which, although not cheap, was value for money considering all the children's activities available.
We will definitely return as there is lots more to do in the area, High Force for a waterfall walk, Bowes Museum, Egglestone Abbey (EH) and lots of other walks, details on site.

Just got back from a 2 night stay. We wanted to test out the new tent.
I rang last Wednesday (15/06) and got booked for Friday no problem. They took payment over the phone £22 per night for electric pitch. I loved the fact it was for 2 adults and 2 children. The lady who took the call was really helpful and confirmed a late checkin would be fine.
Site is really easy to find just off the A66 huge sign post so you can't miss it.
On arrival we weren't sure exactly where to go but soon found the actual campsite entrance. Peter the site manager was on site showing another family to a pitch he then offered us a choice of pitches. We chose next to the activities hut as it looked onto the play area so was ideal with having 2 kids (5 & 7). The girls were straight onto the pedal karts and having a great time while we got the tent up and unpacked the car.
Peter came round to check all was ok told us where stuff was (toilets, showers, barnard castle), times farm shop open etc then left us to it.
We drove the 5 miles or so down the road to Barnard Castle and got a take away for tea (pizza cottage really nice).
The activities hut is open from about 9am till around 10pm. This has a TV in and other indoor activities to keep the kids entertained during wet weather.
Play area is a little sand pit (would have been great without the rain) and a climbing frame with a slide. This could probably use a little more in case there are more children on site and the weather is fine maybe some swings and a roundabout etc.
The toilet/shower block is clean and adequate for what you need and the amount you are paying. The farm shop/tea room is well stocked not too badly priced for what your buying. Staff were all friendly.
As the weather wasn't great we didn't really do much we went back to Barnard Castle and did a little shopping (Chocolate Fayre is recommended if your a chocoholic like me)
Called into Bowes museum (£9 adults, kids under 16 free) and did a kids tour the girls thought it was really good having to look for all the things in the book around the museum.
Once we got back the rain had stopped so we had a short walk around the site. We went up past the pond and met lugsy the lama, the kids loved this.
We went down to the farm shop where the trampolines are situated it also has a bigger climbing frame here and the kids played happily while we sat in the picnic area watching.
Peter checked on us each day to make sure everything was ok I thought that this was really nice and a lovely friendly touch. He is a credit to the site.
We will be returning. Really looking forward to out next visit so we can do more of the walk around the community wood and see more of the animals (weather permitting)

Have just returned from an overnight stay at the Thorpe Farm site. 2 adults and 2 kids, what a great relaxing visit.
The site is clean and tidy, with washing facilities and a couple of shower blocks each for males and females.
Loads available on site for the kids to do, 2 games rooms, nice play areas, a pond, 2x large trampolines and even some pedal carts to ride around on all free of charge.
There are some great walks to try and animal paddocks housing Ponies, Llamas, Sheep and Donkeys, our kids loved it all.
Peter on the site was so hospitable and helpful and greeted us with a nice welcome.
We cannot wait to go back for a longer visit.

Just got back home from a fantastic 3 night break at this campsite.
When we arrived we were greeted by the warden who showed us a variety of pitches to choose from. We chose to be next to the games room in front of the play area and lake so we could watch our 2 children play.
This campsite has everything for children. Go carts, croquet, badminton net, table tennis, pool table, basketball net, football table, television,6 large space hoppers and 2 large trampolines and ALL FREE!
I can honestly say it's the first time the children haven't complained of being bored on a campsite ( 13 year old boy and 9 year old girl ) and happy kids mean happy parents!
The warden is such a pleasant and lovely fella and was always on hand if we needed anything.
There is plenty of dog walks and also in the adjoining fields there was a pony, 2 llamas and sheep.
Toilet/shower blocks were basic but adequate.
The only thing I could say to improve the site would be to have wifi as the kids had their laptops, some lighting on the way to the toilet blocks as it was pitch black on a night and a barrier on entrance for security but apart from that a brilliant campsite!
We definitely will be returning in the summer.
