We have just returned from another visit within the last 2 months and wow.
We where met by the owners, they escorted us to our pitch, pointing out the water points close by and bins now over the far side of the pond. As usual the toilet block is the cleanest I have seen and up amongst the top sites I have visited. The farm shop has a great selection of local produce at very reasonable prices. The new games room was taken over by the kids playing pool and bar-football which was great to see. The usual kiddie tractors and ride on go carts scattered around the site for the kids to play with. Some of the seasonals are very friendly and helpful and I was able to borrow a set of Allen keys (thanks). In summary you cannot speak highly enough of this site or the people on it, try it for yourself.

We have just returned from a weekend break from this campsite and it was really great, there was lots to do for the kids which made us very happy as they were entertained. The toilets and showers blocks are very very clean and well stocked with toilet roll and hand wash. Billy and the rest of the staff are very friendly and the little shop on the site was very nice the only thing that it was missing was some newspapers and magazines to read while relaxing around the tent. This was our first time here but it will not be our last time, next time we will be bring our family and friends up with us.

Site hard to find due to lack of signposts.
Owners friendly enough, showed us to our pitch, pointed out water points, toilets etc. Though no toilet waste disposal unit existed as described on website!
Ground relatively level but solid as a rock. Bring a big hammer and plenty of spare pegs!
Nice pond with ducks, though beware the many animal holes hidden around it and under the trees! A broken ankle waiting to happen!
Toilets and showers had had a quick wipe but were in serious need of a deep clean.
No poop scoop bins on site.
Only saw three rubber dustbins on the whole site, so those quickly filled up!
Childrens toys around the site were dropping to bits and were in serious need of replacement!
The two trampolines at the entrance of the site were a mess, the netting around it was torn and flapping about.
The quiet time of 10PM was not adhered to by the owners. The loud music, foul language and shouting went on well after midnight!
The wooden cabin at the top was creepy. Not inviting to the kids at all.
No lights anywhere around the site.
The toilet block gave an annoying beeping noise every thirty seconds or so.
Little shop at the front was way too expensive, £1 for a can of coke!
I had high hopes for this site because of previous great reviews, and that is why we were very disappointed!
I've gave a 3 out of 10 rating for 'Child Friendliness' due to the fact most of the children's facilities didn't actually work properly or were dangerous because they were broken.
No, I wouldn't recommend this site to a friend!

Just spent a very enjoyable weekend here - my first time on this site. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which was especially important to me as I staying alone with my 7 year old niece for the first time and was a little apprehensive. The site was very clean and well maintained, with good toilet and shower facilities and very safe for children with plenty of play facilities. I would most certainly recommend it for anyone wanting a quiet country break whilst being very close to interesting places to visit and I will most certainly go there again.

Well this was our first visit to Thorpe farm, and it will not be our last time.
We booked into the camp site via a old fashioned shop, that was filled with goodies.
We were then met by a site warden who could not have been more helpful.
He drove us to the plot area, and then asked where we wanted to pitch our trailer tent, and also our friends tent.
The pitches are one of the biggest I have used for the fee we paid.
We had a nice spot under some trees and next to a small duck pond.
Once we had gotten all set up to relax with a bbq, the warden asked if we needed any help and informed us of sites walks and areas for us to walk our friends dog.
The showers and toilet areas were absolutely spotless at all times.
There was plenty of space for the children to play, and the site had even laid out toys for the kids to use on the site.
The site shop was full of homemade produce at a reasonable price.
A few miles down the road was a country farm shop & market area that had all your needs.
This site is well worth a visit.

This was our second visit in a month, the first time was in May we went for a week and the site was very quiet at one point we were the only tent on the site. The staff were very helpful and friendly and there was a little problem with the showers but once we reported it they were soon sorted.
The site is very clean and the new toilet and shower facilities are very good, with washing up area and also a games room.
The second time we went back with our two grandchildren for the weekend and they loved the play areas and the go karts and other equipment that is around the site for then to play on.
We would recommend the site as it is very good
And child friendly, but also quiet, there is some noise from the road, but it is not obtrusive.
There is a lot of development taking place with new statics and lodges being put on the site, but this should not detract from what is a very good site close to many local places of interest. We will definitely be returning next year.

Returned from a very relaxing time down at this hidden gem. There has been a changing of the guard with a new warden and can I say they are doing a great job and a very happy welcome we got on arrival. The place just gets better and better with new fixed toilet block which was nipping clean at all times. Great walk to the pub and my family and my brother-in-law enjoyed our stay.
Only prob really was the noise from a large family tent pitched by the pond, but I think they got told to hold the noise.
Again I cannot recommend this site highly enough to anyone and everyone. We will all be back in July this year.

Just returned from this campsite and have to say very impressed. We only went for one night but found that the staff were very helpful, the location is superb with the only drawback being so close to the A66 that there was a lot of traffic noise.
The toilets and shower blocks were clean and tidy and I never had to queue at any time. There is an on site gamesroom with TV, Pool table, table football and giant connect four which were all free.
There is a small pond which is stocked with 50 carp between 1 - 3lbs. I fished with the father in law who pulled in 11 in 6 hours and I got 5 the following morning in about 2 hours. The pond has a lot of weeds and no set pegs but there are spaces to pitch. The fish were in superb condition.
There are local pubs near by which serve food, very nice but quite pricey, I recommend the on site farm shop/tea room. We had a Sunday roast £7. 95 for a beautiful beef dinner. Very nice and cheaper than the local pubs.
There are nice walking routes and a few animals including donkeys, sheep, ponies and llama's.
Cracking site, reasonably priced and I will be going again.

We arrived on Friday for 4 nights bank holiday weekend group of 8 tents adults & children.
We where shown to our pitches by Billy who is a very helpful and pleasant man.
The pitches are very large with EHU.
Toilets & showers spotless at all times.
Go karts moon hoppers scatted around site for the children to play with, sand pits ect.
Noise from A66 did not bother us at all.
Moffitt Hotel half mile away smashing beer garden.
Could do with a wet room for the disabled.
Never had to wait for shows or toilets the site was quite full.
Have been to this site 4 times and it seems to be getting better each time we come.
Will be returning soon.

Just got back from a really chilled weekend at Thorpe Farm. It's a beautiful site, very peaceful - you couldn't tell that the A66 was next door. The showers were spotless & there were plenty of washing up sinks. We had Sunday lunch in the coffee shop which was scrummy & very filling.
Everyone made us feel welcome
Already booked August Bank Holiday.
