First visited this site as a static caravan aged 7 in 1977. No club, no electric to statics and the chip shop the ladies! We had the third plot behind the shop. How it has now changed 30 years on and caraving myself. Still the same old toilet block on the tourers that was there before, although it is old it is quite clean. The new block is better. Makis, has proven to be a huge sucess since it opened some 20 years ago. Pulling in all the site for nightly entertainment. It a good site for beach, and walks into Brid. Or you now can hop on the train which will take you down the front. Brid is our second home, and I feel safe there alone with my two children. Have stayed on this site twice this year, and will probally stay twice in 2007.

Visited this site on several occasions in the past mainly due to it's location, which is ideal for the beach and Bridlington. Other than location though, the site dosn't deserve it's 4 star rating. The toilet blocks are in need of major refurbishment, with the showers either very hot or lukewarm, and only one peg behind the door to hang your clothes. The childrens play area / basketball court is quite small, with a larger area / football pitch needed for older children and teenagers. Touring pitches are close together and soon become flooded after a downpour as drainage is not as good as it could be. The sites maintenence staff appear to be going through the motions, and only do as little as possible. On the last occasion we were there, the refuse bins were overflowing and I regularly watched staff walk by, with no effort to pick litter up or empty the bins. Caravans have to off the site by the early time of 11.00am on the day of departure, and can only stay longer if £3.50 is paid, and no one has booked the pitch for later that day. With some investment, and staff that care and are trained properly, the site could be one of the best on the east coast, but I wont be returning until changes have been made.

Spend a lot of time at south cliff, staff really helpful showers are clean. Very close to beach. Makis is good for the family also good food. Could do with a little more for kids, a swimming pool, but having said that its close to town. Would recommend to anyone

This is a lovely family orientated site. We have been coming here since my son was born and he is now 8 ! There is plenty of room for your caravan and the beach is right on your doorstep! The night club / bar is excellent and drinks are cheap. They also do very good meals and the carvery is yummy. the toilet blocks are a bit old but clean enough. The only thing I would say is missing on this site is a swimming pool but then again if the weather is nice you have the sea. There is a newly renovated play ground for the kids and security on 24/7.

Just returned from This site which I have to say is good. I went with my 2 children (hubby dropped us off for 5 days) in trailer tent and mobile home. Very safe, cctv evident, park, fish n chips, local shop, a club with entertainment, laundrette 2.50, dryers £1 which I thought was cheap.
Best thing is beach with in walking distance 10 minutes you are there and its a lovely spot. We shall be returning next year same time but for longer You are parked close which didnt bother us as we wanted to be, bit like sardines at busy times, but facilities are maintained daily. Hot showers and bath which was great for my kids as they hate showers
Word of warning the only bad thing is both mine and my friends tyres where let down in car park, this was reported to site office so do check if leaving cars in public car park near club house, very expensive for new tyres !

May 2004 First visit to this site, well presented good facilities and entertainment. Very clean and tidy. Prices not too bad, could be expensive if you had a few children. Would go again.

April 2004 A very large site - largely given over to statics, but with about 200 touring pitches.
All pitches have hardstanding and hook-up - with individual hook-up posts alongside every pitch, meaning careful negotiation of adjoining pitches upon arrival and departure!
Bridlington South Beach adjoins the site - reached through the static part of the site, and is unspoilt, and sandy (perfect for sandcastles)!
Two toilet blocks, both of which are cleaned regularly, but both of which could do with some updating (eg many missing locks from toilet doors, broken tiles, etc). Both toilet blocks very quickly seemed to get dirty, too!
We arrived on Easter Monday, and the site was very busy. Even so, it was a very quiet site. We didn't try out the on-site entertainment - but we also couldn't hear it from our caravan (unlike some other commercial sites we have been to where loud music from the entertainment can be heard across the site).
We would recommend it, and would certainly consider it if returning to Brid.

Aug2002 Council run large holiday complex. Hard standing numbered pitches, also area for tents and non electric. 1 mile from Bridlington although the entertainment on site is good. The showers are clean and work ok, but are a bit on the old side. On site securiry is on hand 24 hrs. Would go again.
