Lovely site just a short walk from the beach. There is also a park and ride land train to the town centre from the beach

The toilet block was fairly clean. The site was extremely busy so a small amount of wear and tear is expected.

Full electric hook up.

Quite crowded you could definitely be unlucky with neighbours

There was a children's playground, chip shop, laundry and shop on site but I didn't use any of these.

There was a small arcade which probably needs some love and attention as a few machines were broken.

The night time entrainment was great and very busy. This went on until late which is fine if you aren't in a tent as their field is right next door.

I will definitely be returning to this site

Whilst it has much to recommend it, South Cliff is a HUGE site complete with an on-site club house, so if what you're seeking is a nice quiet weekend away, I would seriously suggest looking elsewhere as you really are not going to enjoy this place. If, however entertainment on-site and late nights is your thing then go for it.

Firstly the positives: The kids play area is well equipped and right next to the tent area, so if you have younger kids this could be a big plus for you. There's also a basketball / football court area adjacent to this. There are 2 toilet/shower blocks which are on the whole kept clean and tidy and on our visit over the bank holiday weekend, we didn't have to queue once. There's an on-site shop which is well stocked with the essentials and staff are very helpful/pleasant. There's also a chippy which seemed well used but we didn't sample the wares. The site is well situated for a walk into Bridlington and the beach is only at the top end of the site. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

On the downside, the proximity of the tent area to the clubhouse is one element which leads to an incredibly noisy stay as the 'boom boom' from it goes on into the small hours of the morning. This combined with a clientèle who seem to think it a good idea to 'share' their music loudly way past any reasonable hour leads to a lack of sleep. Tent pitches are not huge and seem to be very tightly spaced. There also seemed to be a distinct lack of grass on many of them which was disappointing seeing as this was very early in the season. Although toilet/shower facilities are good, a squeegee or similar would be a good idea as some shower cubicles can quickly become muddy if it's been raining and the cleaners have been and gone!

If the noise element could be controlled from the club and security keeping an eye on sound levels from fellow campers, then we'd be tempted to return. However, valuing a reasonable night' sleep too highly, we sadly won't be rushing back which is a shame as it's convenient for where we live.

Have to agree with other user reviews, this is a well run site with all the amenities you require with perhaps the exception of a swimming pool. The fact it has no pool is of little consequense as when the sun shines the beach is just 10 minutes walk away. If I can allow myself ONE little moan it is the proximity of pitches to each other, you (that is I) feel that your neighbour is almost sharing your pitch with you and for £28 a night I would have liked a little more space. Would I go again ??? I most certainly would.

We had an enjoyable week here. Good position for beech and other points of interest (a nice walk to Bridlington wild life park and the John Bull rock factory).

Various shops (Morrisons. Tesco, Farm Foods etc within driving distance).

A good drive away from Scarborough and other areas.

The toilet blocks were spotless and warm. Toilets cubicles are narrow. Shower cubicles could do with more hooks to hook toilet bag and dry clothes on.

There's a shop, fish shop, club, playing area for the kids and amusements.

Didn't rate the fish from the fish shop, it was greasy and the batter was soggy. Chips were nice though.

Various entertainment on a night time. We had karaoke and a children's magician (who spent most of his act shushing the kids).

They introduced Free Wifi this year but we were unable to get any further than connecting. Wouldn't let us access internet or any on-line content the whole time we were there.

We went in our trailer tent with electric hook up. Hard standing area for the trailer and a pebbled area for the awning.

Friendly people and staff, but we have yet to go camping and meet anyone unfriendly.

There is a bit of segregation where your choice of accommodation is concerned. Tents are in their own bushed off area, trailer tents and folding campers seem to be placed along the outer perimeters while those with campers and caravans are placed along the roads

We originally did a weekend here last year before booking for the full week. We will certainly be booking again.

Visited this caravan park in May for the weekend. Been to this caravan park many times. Hardstanding pitches for caravans motorhomes and a few tent pitches. There are two toilet blocks which are always kept clean. Check in is always swift and hassle free. Plenty to do on site bars shop chippy playground beach is next to the site. We like the walk to Bridlington which takes less than 30mins stroll from site down the prom next to the beach. Makis club on the site serves good inexpensive meals there's also a pub down the road Lobster Pot that serves food but cannot comment as we never called in. It can get very busy but it is always quiet at night and we've never had to queue for a shower. Loads of places to visit Filey, Scarborough etc. When we visit Bridlington this is the site we always use.

We arrived on the Tuesday before Easter and I believe that the local schools had not broken up. We were one of the few vans on site, apart from quite a few unoccupied seasonals. We were helped onto pitch by 2 very helpful groundsmen. All the facilities were very quiet. Then after being out for the day on Good Friday, we arrived back to a completely different campsite. I think around 100 vans and 20+ Tents had arrived. We were a little worried about potential noise etc. We actually couldn't have been more wrong. I had asked for a pitch specially away from entertainment etc and that helped greatly. On pitch 150, we were furthest from the bar etc, however we were nearest the main road, so expect some traffic noise. Maybe if it was warmer at night, it could have been noisier?

Despite the amount of people on site. I never once queued for the shower and they were kept very clean despite the mud.

There were a few things that irked me about the site: firstly our pitch was behind other pitches, so we had to traipse across muddy grass to go to the toilet block. Secondly the showers were warm but but could have been hotter. I didn't like the type of nozzles, which made your hair wet, if not washing your hair. Also there were too few hooks /places to put your dry clothes and the soap dish in the shower was useless, so there was no where to put your shampoo, conditioner or shower Gel, apart from on the floor. My last gripe was the toilets, there was no where to hang towels or toilet bags whilst going to the toilet, apart from the floor and due to their narrowness, I had to sit with my arm on the Sanitary Bin (yuk).

Despite the few niggles. Staff were very friendly and the site was in a nice location with easy access to Bridlington via Park and Ride.

There is a large Morrisons within a short drive with Aldi and a MacDonalds on the same site.

Fish and Chips on site were very good.

Day visits included Scarborough - not much to see there apart from shops

Filey - much more quaint than Scarborough.

York Designer Outlet - great for clothes shopping

Hornsea - nice outlet and lovely trip to Honeysuckle Farm - great for day out with kids

Flamborough (North Landing) - take nets and crab lines for rockpooling.

Would we visit again? Yes if it wasn't such a long drive (took us 8. 5 hours from Dorset) and if we could get 8 nights for just over £100 again!

We have just spent 2 nights staying in one of the camping cabins in the wildlife area. Haven’t stayed in a cabin before (we’re usually in tents) but due to the time of year thought it would be nice to try something different. We went away for my son’s 4 birthday. We were very pleasantly surprised by the size and comfort of the cabins – they were extremely clean and spacious, and the heater kept them very warm and dry despite the nights being cold and damp. The self-inflating mattresses we were given were very uncomfortable but we had brought a double air bed and would urge anyone else staying here to do the same, there is plenty of room on the floor. Our son was then able to use all 3 of the self-inflating mattresses and he slept fine. All in all we were very pleased with the cabin experience and would definitely stay in one again.

Just not on this campsite!

The campsite was clean and well equipped with good facilities and a reasonable children's play area but for us the redeeming features ended there. There wasn’t much around – town centre was a 10 min drive ride away and the nearest pub (The Lobster Pot), whilst walking distance, left a fair bit to be desired. There was an on-site entertainment centre (club, arcade etc) but we gave these a wide berth. Come evening time and it was more reminisce of Blackpool on a Friday night than the nice seaside campsite we were expecting. Possibly our fault for not doing enough research into the campsite; it was the cabins that we had gone for, not realising they were part of a huge holiday camp, and I can’t blame them for our lack of knowledge of the place.

But. The main reason for my slightly negative review is that we were woken just after midnight on our first night to hear rummaging on the cabin porch – my husband took a few mins to get out of his sleeping bag and by the time he got outside whoever it was had gone, taking with them all of our beer that had been left outside to keep cold. You could argue that it was our fault for leaving things outside but we are seasoned campers and have never had anything stolen from us before, there is a mutual respect between campers that you do not touch other people’s belongings. Someone had clearly come into the wildlife area looking to steal – you couldn’t see the porch from the entrance to the area and so no one could have known it was there, without coming right up to the cabin with a torch. To be honest it hadn’t even crossed our minds that someone would steal from us. I went to the toilet shortly after this happened and saw a security guard doing a patrol (which set alarm bells ringing instantly – why the need for early hours patrols??!) so I told him what had happened but he didn’t seem to fazed by it at all, which made me wonder if it happens regularly – if so it would’ve been nice to get some warning so we would’ve known to bring things inside.

The cabins themselves felt very secure but I didn’t really enjoy our stay after that – I didn’t feel safe at all, knowing that someone had been rooting round on the porch whilst we were all asleep a few feet away, especially as I am pregnant and we had our young child with us.

For that reason I wouldn’t recommend this place, certainly not to anyone wanting a quiet SAFE family weekend – it’s definitely suited better for young groups of adults or families with older children/teenagers. If you do stay here, make sure you leave all your belongings safely locked away – it was only cheap beer that they stole which we weren’t bothered about but the family next to us had said they were debating whether to keep their children’s bikes outside, and were relieved that they had decided to keep them locked in the car. It’s a shame that this experience ruined the weekend for us, but for me camping needs to be about feeling safe & secure and at this place sadly I just didn’t.

Just spent long weekend camping. Pitches quite bald but end of season so to be expected. Parking on gravel road not by tents should be one car per unit but when we arrived no space obviously people with extra cars not parked in car park near reception, site warden very helpful though so bit of a squeeze some days. EHU but noted they didn't have RCD trip switch just fastened onto piece of angle iron, although probably everyone has them on their own equipment. Toilet facilities were good, wheelchair access also good. On site chippy lovely n tasty no more expensive than on coast. Five min walk to beach and pay n display parking which included return ticket into Brid for only £3. 60 for up to seven people, we walked to car park. On site park for children with Tarmac football area which our grandchildren enjoyed plus feeding the two pence machines, also entertainment, kids club, bar, restaurant, etc although we didn't go into entertainment complex/bar.

Down side don't expect to be able to sleep at night until early hours if under canvas, noise from children's park until about midnight shouting, screaming, swearing Saturday at about 11. 45 pm rang security to ask them to move load of kids/teenagers. Then up to about 2am revellers from bars returning to accommodation once again talking loudly, shouting odd argument, plus background music thumping in background although get used to that. Sunday was lovely and quiet, think if we go again if not taking young grandchildren will go midweek not a weekend

I expected great things from this campsite but we were very disappointed. I don't know if it was down to how busy the campsite was but we were so crammed in it was awful. Crammed in like sardines ! Needless to say the toilets suffered, again it may have been down to the numbers but they were disgusting. Half the loos were blocked / un flushed and therefore full of horrors and there were only 2 soap dispensers which were on the walls, high up and not next to the sinks which made everywhere feel filthy to me.

The campsite chip shop was nice and we really enjoyed a late supper on our arrival day. There's a well stocked shop too which sold all your essentials but sadly didn't open late so we had to go out to find the nearest supermarket.

Location is good it's an easy walk to the beach and the park and ride which cost £3. 50 the camp arcade was ok too.

There's a club entertainment area too but the bad language and shouting coming from outside was enough to put us off and feel grateful we were only there for a weekend.

I have spent 4 nights on this site in a touring caravan with my parents (one is wheelchair dependent) and my young daughter.

The site is very clean and tidy and the cars do drive slowly on the roads within the site, so I had no worries over my 5 year old riding her bike around the site without me having to watch her all the time.

There are two toilet blocks on the touring site, one is more modern than the other, the less modern one has a separate disabled shower /toilet room, but the floor is very slippery when wet however the modern toilet block has disabled facilities within the male and female sections and the floor is not so slippery. All disabled toilets and shower rooms require a radar key to access the rooms. The disabled shower in the modern block has plenty of hold rails and the shower is a removable head with a temperature dial, along with the fold down seat, I can't comment on the less modern one because I didn't go into that one.

The other showers are push button with fitted heads, but they spray very wide so when using one to shower my daughter I got absolutely soaked through. The showers have a temperature dial, but the cubicles are very small with only 2 hooks, so I would advise to go for a shower in a dressing gown and return to yout unit or tent and get changed there because the floor also gets very wet because of the strength of the water blowing the shower curtain out. There is a family bathroom in the modern block with a sink, change table and full sized bath. The older block has a small bath in a separate cubicle, separate cubicled sinks and the separate showers.

Both toilet blocks also had a free hairdryer that worked well. Everytime I used the toilets they were clean, tidy and there was plenty of toilet paper.

The chip shop is reasonable, the on site shop is also reasonable, but I couldn't find the national newspapers. The club on an every starts at 7pm, with 2 hours of kids music and entertainment, such as musical chairs, limbo competition etc. I can't comment on the other facilities within 'makis' because I didn't use them.

There is also a park and multisports ground to play basket ball or football on.

The site this year has now got 3 camping pods that sleep 6, set in the sites wildlife area. The pods have 2 electric sockets and a heater ( information taken from their leaflet).

All in all, would I go again? Yes, I would because the value for money is great due to the proximity of the site to the beach, park and ride and general facilities, along with how clean and tidy the site was.
