Just had a good weekend at south cliff. Quite a good site, friendly staff and very clean washing facilities, a good club very much geared for kids and a good chippy. We were unlucky enough to fall on the weekend of the annual beach volleyball championships, the competitors having booked 75% of the camping field descended at Friday teatime. They were well behaved and surprisingly quiet and all went well. The camp is near the beach and a very flat manageable walk into Bridlington ( even pushing the wheelchair )
Only downside is the pitches are a bit small and cramped together, not a problem for us in the m/home but I noticed a couple of caravans struggling a bit it would appear that you have to be placed according to size
Access is good , security is good and every pitch has ehu

Big site, mainly statics. Well kept site, staff helpful and polite. Toilets and cleaning facilities spotless. Restaurant good, entertainment and nightclub excellent. Gate leads straight out onto big clean beach, one mile walk to bridlington. Look forward to visiting this site later in the year

Plus points
1. Clean
2. Very well landscaped
3. Good shop
4. Good chippy
5. East reach of Bridlington
6. Reasonable pitch price
7. Well drained ground
8. Beautiful toilet/amenity block
9. Good play park & football pitch
1 big negative, they let non campers into the entertainment venue
Given all the above plus points this 1 negative completely spoilt our 5 day break! Venue was far too overcrowded, unbearably hot, not a seat to be had by 7pm and stood 5 deep at the bar - covering fire exits so thank god for no fire's! When camping you sense a community spirit and feel able to let your children explore knowing they are 'safe' - not at this site! Far too many strangers - the last straw was when the compere asked the little girl on stage where she came from - answer BRIDLINGTON!
Will I go back???? Only if the venue and whole site it kept exclusively for campers - issue passes please.

Hi I'm 13 years old and I have been going to south cliff caravan park for 13 years and I love it, I have a younger brother and younger sister and we always make loads of friends. It is a really safe site and to go to the park and ride round on our bikes is safe. The two people that work in the shop are really kind to us and friendly and always have a laugh with their customers. We like going to makis which is the club on the site and don the duck is the children's entertainment. We always make loads of friends and every time we go we see them again. In the family bar in the club there is entertainment on every night such as hypnotist and magician that makes birds appear. The best time to go is the Halloween weekend when everyone decorates their caravans up and all the kids go trick or treating around the caravans. You can easy walk into bridlington town and you don't need your car. For me the thing I like is best that no dogs are allowed but the ducks are very loud on a morning when they quack to get you up. I would definitely recommend this site I have been going all my life and I am still loving it I cant wait till we go again this year

Just come back after 6 fantastic days. This site is spotlessly clean, the new toilet block is great, nice and warm which makes a change from the usual cold damp and dark facilities you usually find on many touring parks. The staff are very friendly in reception and club house. Bridlington is lovely seaside town, the beach is great at this time of year with not to many people around, nice for beachcombing on the northbeach when the tide is out. Flamborough is not too far away great for walking, once you get to the cliff top fantastic views out to sea.

We went in aug 15 days rained most of it that's the british weather. The staff were doing all they could to help people due to the site been very water logged. Been going for 6 years to this site and it is normally very nice. The club prices are cheap. The site could do more for the children the park needs more things on (poss ) swimming pool. Nice walks down beach to town. We would recommend it and we will be back

Just returned from a 5 night stay at South Cliff and was pleasantly surprised. Despite torrential rain we managed to enjoy a great vacation, but did feel very sorry for some of our neighbours who's awnings had been flooded.
There is a very good club, bar and restaurant, which caters for young and old and in our opinion was very reasonably priced. Yes the on-site shop was expensive but also very convenient and stocked some caravan spares as well as food and papers etc (ideal if you did not want to venture far in the rain). The entertainment was good especially for the children.
The site itself was very busy and due to the rain was very muddy, but despite this the facilities in the toilet block were amazingly clean and we experienced no problems. The only downside was that the showers were very small.
The pitches are sufficient and all are convenient to water, electric and facilities.
The staff we spoke to were friendly and attentive and helped us manoeuvre our van on arrival.
Bridlington is lovely and has an abundance of shops and lots and lots of fish and chip shops! It is only about 3/4 of a mile, if that, from the site and you can walk there along the sea front.
We both play golf and tried a round at the neighbouring Bridlington course (£24 for 18 holes midweek)
And at Driffield Golf Club(£30 for 18 holes midweek) we enjoyed both especially Driffield.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and for £20 per night all in for August it represented excellent value for money! We will be returning

We booked this site for our holiday with the grandchildren as it is close to the beach and has easy access to Bridlington via the land train [or a good walk]
However on arrival there had been a long period of rain and our pitch was under water [as were mos ] Reception had said that if we needed boards for the pitch to go back and they would be provided, however there were only 3 boards left for the whole site!
The main problem is that the pitches are surrounded by an access road which is higher than the grassed area and there are no drains on the road so all the rain water has only one place to go - on the pitch and hardstanding and into your awning. Access to the inner pitches is poor and really needs setting out in some type of order to allow access without cutting through other campers pitches.
The Shower block was spotless and was cleaned regularly although on one occasion the bath was blocked and my wife had to unblock it herself only to find the water was stone cold - this had been reported by another camper but she was told by a member of staff' what do you want me to do '
This could be a really good site but money needs to be spent on drainage or expect to be flooded if it rains !
Oh and watch out for the steel site number posts which also have the electric supply on them as they are situated and the back of the hardstanding and it looks like many vans have made contact in the past.
In conclusion , a nice site if the weather is good- a mud bath if it isnt !

We had a lovely weekend here with two kids age 11 and 8 and my gran who's in her 70's. The site is well kept and wardens are helpful and friendly as were all other staff. Three nights cost £60 with electric which was fantastic value considering the facilities on site. The club was really nice and the meal we had was good value at under £30 for us all. The children's entertainment was good fun and the dj is great with the kids giving out prizes etc. The shop on site was well stocked and the fish and chips were lovely and reasonably priced. The shower and toilet blocks were really clean especially the new block and there are plenty of them too. The walk into Bridlington is nice and flat and the paddling pools and cafe's are about 15-20 mins steady walk away although the land train is good fun to ride back on. The beach at this end of Brid is nice too. There is a morrisons about 5 mins drive away which is handy and does cheap petrol too. The only downside to the site is a bit of road noise through the night but the great facilities and value make it worth putting up with

Would not be a site I would return to. Pitched far too tightly. Overpriced shop, chippy and restaurant. Too overcrowded pub. Boggy ground. People not adhering late night noise ruling. Old outdated shower blocks. Good location for Bridlington - beautiful seaside town - Filey also worth a visit. Would benefit from a pool onsite. Should not let 'non campers' into club / restaurant which was obviously done by number of cars parked on road at night time as there was a barrier in operation. Met people who had been coming here for 30 years? Why?? Marks out of 10 - generous 6
