We found this site to be lovely and quiet. The terraced layout provides peace and privacy and maximises the beautiful views. The showers and toilets were fine - basic but clean and we didn't have to queue. The owners are very accommodating. The shop was useful and sold quite a lot of local produce which was lovely. The view whilst at the wash-up station is spectacular and it is a good place to chat to other campers - all of whom were really pleasant when we stayed. There is a lovely short walk to a local beach which is really secluded - ask the owners about it. There are about 200 steps down to this beach but our 3-year-old managed it!

I would like to give a bad review just so we could have the place to ourselves but how could I. What a wonderful site run by wonderful people and is how a camp site should be. Basic, retro and very clean. The showers are now free so that should stop those people for whom 20p is an insult complaining. People are told not to put their tent on the same spot has the previous occupier and yes there are doors on the showers. The anti retro mob will be pleased to know that by next season there will be a brand new shower block, laundry and baby changing facilities. Cannot understand why ones little darling cannot be changed in your tent or van, but ha call me old fashioned. I hope the site will not be spoilt by all this we cannot wait to go back and plan on being regular users.

If you are looking for a simple clean campsite with the best views around this is the site for you. I admit the facilities are simple but always clean. The site is spotless. Pitches are very generous and private with most having a view of the sea and coastline. Just spent 10 days there with only one complaint. We had to come home when our time was up. Already planning our return next year. I give this site a 4 star rating but when the new shower/toilet and laundry block is completed next year I am sure it will deserve a five. This site is beautifully simple and this is how it should be kept, if what you are after is a campsite with a club house for drinking and entertainment it's not for you.

Just returned from a week here, and really enjoyed it. It's a lovely little site, basic, but well kept. The only minus was the place is a bit exposed on a hill, so if its windy, you know about it. The owners do everything to make your stay memorable, and help in any way they can. The toilets/showers are spotless, and I personaly never had to queue once.altho the mrs said she did have to a few times. (ladies in loos eh!). The immediate area has numerous campsites, which we wandered around whilst walking the many routes round and about, and im glad we chose the one we did! The place is also great for using as a base for exploring local towns.

Nice site great views. Basic facilities that are quite dated but always clean. Owners are always on hand and local produce is available from the small site shop. Great walks to Ilfracombe and Combe Martin or regular buses if required. Reasonable prices but other sites nearby were cheaper.

Had the pleasure of visiting Little meadows and was very impressed by whole experience . The shower and toilet facilities were always very clean and a pleasure to use. The washing up area is a experience not to be mist on a summers evening. To summarise very well run and amazing location not to be missed.

This was our second visit to Little Meadow and it was as good as we had remembered it from last year! The site is clean and well-looked after, toilets and showers always clean, very useful shop that although is small seems to stock everything you could possibly need including fresh eggs - straight from the hen to your breakfast plate! Owners are friendly and very helpful. The views are amazing, it is a pleasure to do the washing up while watching the sun set over the sea!

September 2005 The location and outlook of this site are what make it. As the signs say, it is a tranquil site, and all the better for it.
The facilities are basic. If you are old enough to recall what the facilities of camp sites were like in the late 70's, early 80's you'd be getting a flavour. There are 2 shower cubicles each for the ladies and gents, none of which have curtains separating your clothes from the shower and so they inevitably got wet. There are only 2 wash-basins for the gents, and the 4 dunnies are right behind the wash basins. Taking my 3 year old daughter for a wash-down during the "dunnie dawn chorus" was an experience! Despite this the facilities were always spotlessly clean. However, with a young family I would have prefered if they were a little more modern.
If there was a competition for the best view from a washing up station, this site would win it every year.
There is a free freezer pack freezing service (and you don't have to wait for the shop to open) with loads of spares available for use while your own packs freeze.
Every refuse station is a mini recycling point for which the owners should be comended and other sites should take note of.
We went in the first week of September (£9 a pitch for a tent, 2 adults and 2 kids plus £1.50 a night for an electric hook up). We had our share of weather (lightining and torential rain to blazing hot). The pitch we were on was pretty well sheltered, as were the vast majority, but the pitches higher up the hill did look a bit exposed (but made for a great place to fly a kite!) The Owner did say that these pitches were only really used in the peak season, when the weather was a little more reliable.
From what we saw every pitch looked quite generous (ours was big enough for us to pitch our 5 berth frame tent off of the area affected by the previous occupants groundsheet - something we did of choice but I think would benefit all if the owners enforced such practices, especially with the pitches being so generous) and had a sea view and the surrounding country side is pretty much unspoiled. I was waxing lyrical about the views in a post card home when the romance was ruined when my wife reminded me that the view was of the Bristol Channel and the distant shoreline was Swansea!
Only the limited and dated facilities prevent this site from being my favourite. That having been said, we will definitely return, but only for a short break rather than a fortnights holiday.
PS, the "shed" on wheels is something to behold!

August 2005 We visited this site in August. The views from all over the campsite are amazing. Good size pitches. Facilities are very basic, only 2 showers in the ladies and 2 in the gents, and 3 toilets for each. But they were always clean. Freezer to freeze ice packs (spares also provided). Telephone box on site too. The shop on site is very basic only selling essentials. Entrance to site from Coombe Martin is a sharp left hand turn, quite difficult. Nice walk to Watermouth Cove from the site, lots of rock pools and shallow water - good for children. There is no large supermarket in this area, so you have to use the local Spar shops which can be expensive. Good small friendly basic site, with stunning views.

July 2005 I visited this campsite in July and had the most amazing time, location, views and the campsite were stunning.
oilet and shower block were a bit dated, but were always spotless.
Owners were really friendly, as were all of the people we met there.
100% brilliant, you have to go!
