This was a charming little site, went there on recommendation by and went with friends at Easter.

Site staff were friendly, even unhitched the caravan and placed it on our hardstanding pitch.

Toilet facilities were immaculate and we have never been to a site where attention to detail was there no 1 priority.

Shop had small selection of goods, mainly essentials(bread, milk etc)papers can be ordered.

Easter Sunday the owners did an chocolate Easter egg hunt for the kids, this was great to see all the kids running around the amenity area. This is a very well maintained site, reasonably priced, clean, tidy and pretty.A wonderful sea view from one part of the park and spacious pitches, most with own water tap and electric hook up.

Good play park and putting green for the kids.

The only issue at Easter was due to the temp drop during the evening after a very hot sunny day and the park being full, the electric trip kept going, but everyone possibly using heating in their units it was no surprise, this was soon rectified.Lovely walks in the area, near lots of attractions

Well worth a visit

We stayed on this site for 3 nights with our 7 and 2 year old just before the bank holiday weekend. Very helpful owners, who insisted on unhitching the caravan from the car and help push it onto the pitch! (presumably in an effort to keep driving on the grass to a minimum, due to the terrible weather at the time!)

Shop/Reception with basic provisions and a lovely play area for the kids. Lots of water and waste points plus recycling.

Toilet/shower blocks are kept clean although a little dated.

For a £5 deposit, you can borrow a key to use the bathroom, which for those of you like us, who have a little one, will find very useful.

We visited Lyme Regis with its lovely little sandy beach, again ideal for those with kids.

On the whole a very pretty, well kept site and would visit again.

 Nice site with friendly staff.

We were shown to our pitch and it was lovely - overlooking the sea. Grass was lush and green.

We were close to the toilet/shower block and these were clean and tidy.

Could have done with a little more lighting along the little path to the toilets.

Nice site - quiet and clean.

The site is nicely positioned away from the main road, but in a good spot to explore the local area.

We visited Sidmouth and Beer during our 2 night stay. Beer Caves are a great place - especially on a hot day!

Diggerland is only 1 hour drive away which was great for our 11 year old.

Would definitely return.

We found the site to be well laid out, clean and tidy. There is even a sea view at one corner of the camping field. The toilets and showers were plentiful even at peak times and the water was always hot. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a walk from some of the pitches to the toilet block. The shop was small but adequate and the staff were very friendly - especially to the children.

The site was busy and there was some noisy larger groups but no noise beyond 11pm. This site is next to Sidmouth, which has a stoney beach but is beautiful. There is a nice pub/eating place The Blue Ball. It has a lovely beach side cafe and a couple of ice-cream shops, selling wonderful flavoured ice-creams. There is also the Donkey Sancuary (a free trip). The next nearest sandy beach was Exmouth (10 miles) which was spacious and had good parking despite it being fantastic weather. All in all, a great base for a family beach holiday - but at least 50 miles from the other Salcombe.

Had a great long weekend here despite terrible weather.

Very clean well ordered site without feeling we were under strict guidelines. Plenty of good shower / toilet facilities. Pleasant fields for pitches, plenty of space. Good views. Nice playground not far from pitches for kids. Small putting green. Professional staff. On the pricier side but we felt it was worth it. The site was only about half full but you got the impression they could cope with a full site.

Plenty to do in the area. Most beaches shingle and pebble. Great walks. Sidmouth very nice if a little steady, Beer & Branscombe worth a visit. Waitrose supermarket on main road to Exeter just past Sidford. We walked along the road (15 mins) to the Donkey Sanctuary which has free entrance, good little cafe there, also a path to this over fields. We also walked to the nearest beach (35 mins) over fields, slopes and steps.

We went out for a meal on Saturday night, we were not allowed to book in the Blue Ball (nearest pub in Sidford on main road, food looked good on menu) and it was full when we turned up, so we went on to the Boyd Inn in Stowford on the road to Exeter. Food was OK typical pub grub but cheapish, but another customer was complaining it was the worst meal he had ever had, I think he was trying to get money off and may have been expecting too much. Next time we would try going into Sidmouth.

Excellent site and area will definitely be back.

We spent two nights here in June 2008. The pitches are a fair size but offer no privacy with hedging etc. We had a generally good stay here although I would say the bathroom facilities are limited if the campsite is full - about 7 men's loos for over 100 pitches.

I found it slightly regimented and sterile, being directed to a pitch number rather than having any choice over where to pitch our tent. Having said this, the upside of a regimented campsite is that it was properly managed and organised.

Arrived early on a beautifully sunny day. Friendly greeting and no issues that we were there so early. Small shop - can order newspapers to collect. Very well maintained site. Toilet / washing up areas are very clean.

However when shown to our pitches we could not have been further from the toilet / shower / washing up facilities. For the size of the site a second toilet block in the camping field needs to be considered. On Saturday night and for several days of our week we had strong winds and lots of rain. Walking up hill in the pouring rain, wind and on slippy grass can be very difficult and so we reolved to driving the children to the toilets.

Signs were then put up by the owners to 'keep driving on the grass to a minimum' - easier said than done in the circumstances!

The play area is, as are the other facilities on site, in the caravan area and the children did enjoy playing here when the weather permitted.

We were camping with a few other families and had requested two pitches with electric hook up. At the time of booking we were told we could not get the electric pitches together / close to our friends, however, throughout the week there were many pitches with electricity available and we felt that with better planning perhaps our request could have been met.

Close by Sidmouth is a pleasant seaside town with quite a good shopping area. Seaton is much the same. The very close by Donkey Sanctuary is a must for families with children. Free admission, you are able to join in with grooming the donkeys, find your way around the maze, follow one of the marked out walks and there is a nice tea room. The Blue Ball pub on the main road is children friendly and serves good food though a little pricey.

All in all, the camp site is clean and well maintained

We stayed for one night in mid-September 2007. No pre-booking, just showed up with a car and two-man tent. A bit expensive at £11.65 per night but for one night it doesn't matter too much.

We were asked whether we wanted to go near the shower blocks or have a quieter spot further away. We're not bothered about facilities, so went for the quieter option and were led to the very bottom of the camping field next to one of the taps - which was indeed rather a long walk to the shower block.

The ground was not very level but reasonable for pitching, not particularly soft but we managed to pitch up nice and firmly - which was needed as the winds were rather strong.

There were no other tents on the camping field so we had plenty of peace and quiet from other campers. I think at one point in the night we heard braying noises from the nearby donkey sanctuary, but it wasn't particularly disturbing.

The donkey sanctuary is very close, and worth an afternoon's visit to see the donkeys and the work of this charity, there are also some lovely (although long) walks down to the sea.

Just had 2 fab nights at this lovely site. Weather was great - rare for 2007! - so that helped. Staff very helpful on arrival. Took us to hard-standing motor-home pitch with electric and water tap. Not too far away from any of the facilities. Toilet/washroom facilities oldish but always clean and plenty of them, never had to queue once. Washing up room (under cover) was great and even had piped music for you to wash up to! Site was very quiet in the evenings, but I guess it was 'out of season' so it may be different at the height of summer? The walking from the site was great, although steep where ever you wanted to go! I'm told it does you good?!?!? Walked one way (towards Branscombe) to see what's left of the grounded MSC Napoli and the other way to Sidmouth. Salcombe hill is a killer on the way back! Had a brilliant Sunday roast in the Old Ship Inn, Sidmouth - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Didn't get time to explore much more, but would go back.

The campsite was very good, hot water in showers, no queues, clean, not crowded and a good use of space.
Bit perturbed about the noise from our neighbours. I would like the wardens to take a more active 'walk' approach, as I dont like having to complain to people at 0100 about the noise their kids are making. To be fair though we complained the next day and the warden was round there within 5 minutes.
Also the pitch sizes are not that great for the modern 'taj mahal' sized tents that we all seem to be buying :-). Overall would recommend it, but if you suspect noise, go and tell the warden to keep an eye.
