We have visited this site several times before but always outside of the school hols. Even though they were busy this Easter, the park was not full.
However we felt that the usual high standards had slipped a bit. The toilets and showers always looked messy and a bit grubby plus they are now very desperately in need of updating and relocating otherwise the advertised slogan 'the discerning campers choice' would seem somewhat inappropriate- by today's standards
Several groups of campers insisted on playing quite vigorous ball games very close to other peoples caravans and cars. I'm not sure what the rules regarding ball games are at Salcombe Regis but this sort of thing can spoil a holiday.
Also several dogs were constantly off the lead and the inevitable accidents happened.
On the whole everyone was quiet by dark and the low light levels here do help that fact.

Super campsite, well situated for South Devon. Excellent facilities, clean toilets and showers and no long queues. Generous sized pitches. Good large children's play area, and putting green.
Helpful staff in reception, very basic shop selling milk, bread and eggs and gas, but supermarkets close by. Quiet at night, more noise from the donkeys down the road!
Good walk to the beach - but it is hilly on the way back. Local church in village serve homemade cake and tea on sunday afternoons during the summer months - well worth a visit.
Free mini bus 4 times a day to Sidmouth in the summer, although is only mile and half so can be easily walked.
The Donkey Sanctuary is a 20 minute walk away and definitely worth visiting.
The campsite provides an excellent dog exercise area, complete with bags and bin.

This site was recommended by my sister, we booked last minute and weren't disappointed.
It is very clean, Quiet and friendly with level pitches and plenty of space between them.
Very well looked after and close to a lot of attractions and lovely little seaside villages and towns. I would definitely go back year after year after year. Fabulous!
The toilets were cleaned regularly and well stocked. The showers were plentiful and never needed to Que. There is a small on sight shop that sells all your basic needs from gas bottles to milk and bread.
A putting green, badminton and a very good children s park. The staff are all really helpful.
Don't go to crealy adventure park though it was really overpriced for what there is their my children hated it. And it cost us the best part of 80 quid to get in. Pecorama is much cheaper and there is more to do and see.

When we arrived it was down a tight road, so don't miss the entrance because further down the road turning would be tricky in a caravan. Reception was first rate and shown our pitch.
The Loos / Showers were quite a distance for some areas of the park and needed updating / relocating. Good play area for kids away from the main camping area.
Donkey Sanctuary 30 mins walk down country lanes. Don't bother with Salcombe Beach. Its grim and all down hill there. The access being a bit iffy down a cliff path.
No Pubs or Restaurants in walking distance.
Be warned that coastal fog / cloud sweeps in in minutes.
All in all. New facilities in a central position would get the site 10/10

Just spent four superbly relaxing days at Salcombe Regis having returned to camping for the first time in twenty years. I have to say, reviews from this website were spot on.
The site is immaculate and beautifully maintained with lovely pitches and good views all around. The wardens were very helpful and professional. Fellow campers were mostly considerate and friendly. The site got busy, probably due to the Folk Festival but this wasn't a problem as it wasn't noisy at all.
The wash facilities were good although probably could do with updating. During our stay the site got busier with more campers but we didn't need to queue for either toilets or showers at all and I like the way sponges are left at each sink to encourage people to leave the sink clean ready for the next person.
The shop is well stocked with food items and local information.
The locality offers some stunning coastal walks and it is well placed for visiting towns along the coast such as the lovely Sidmouth and Lyme Regis. The donkey sanctuary, as always, is a haven of calm and tranquillity.
We certainly will be returning to this campsite again.

Visited for Folk week, had a fabulous time, weather was misty mosts mornings due to close proximity of the beach, walked to along a public footpath and steep steps in about 25 minutes.
Site immaculate and friendly staff show you to your pitch. Bathrooms adequate, but agree could do with updating. Level ish pitches with plenty of space and a water tap on each pitch. Festival bus runs throughout the day and last bus back is 01. 00 expext a bit of good natured noise, all good fun.
No disposable barbecues allowed due to fire restrictions, so make sure you take your own barbie.
Shop has basic provisions and camping necessities, but could be improved by stocking local produce (they do have croissants and fresh bread daily) and will order papers for you every day. Off license would be good too

This is a nice site with good space for each unit. However, our criticism is of the washing facilities: there is only one block for the large site and this is located at the edge of the site rather than centrally.
Although these facilities are kept in very clean condition, they are outdated and cramped and fall well below the facilities of many other sites.
The showers are essentially communal and if the site was well occupied they would be totally inadequate.
The site is expensive for what it offers.

We have just returned from Salcombe Regis Caravan & Camping site.
Salcombe Regis has good instructions on how to get there do not use a sat nav.
This site is flat,& has good size pitches we had water & drainage at no extra cost plenty of room for an awning and car.
The showers are clean, hot & plenty of them.
We never used the laundry room there are washing machines, dryer's, spin dryer & iron.
The rubbish bins are emptied at least 2 twice a day so no rubbish is left around the bins.
The staff are friendly and very help full.
When we arrived on the site we were shown to our pitch and were helped to put the caravan on.
The children's play area is in good safe condition plenty to keep children happy, the shop offered basic food products also information on places of interest.
This is some where we will return to.

We visited the site for our first camping trip and nearly went home again as the soil was so stony. We asked one of the campsite wardens if he thought we should move our tent and he told us there had been no other complaints and the soil was just hard. Even as camping novices we knew that was not the problem as when we avoided the stones, the pegs went in easily.
Other campers who we met had also had the same problem. For this reason, we will not be coming here again.
On the positive side, this was a nice site with good facilities. We were fairly close to the shower block, but it is not centrally situated so if you were placed on the other side of the site, you would have quite a walk. There was also a good sized play area which our children loved.

Just come back from this site after nearly a week staying there. Have to say that the site is well laid out and despite us arriving on a Bank Holiday Weekend there was plenty of room between pitches.
Wardens and staff were friendly and the Amenities block was always clean. Never had to queue for a shower and the showers were always nice and hot with plenty of pressure.
No pub on site nearest is about a mile away and though you could walk to it we didn't as the lanes were quite narrow with no footpaths.
Sidmouth is nearest town with beach about 2.5 miles mix of pebbles and when tide goes out sand as well. In town there are plenty of shops including a Tesco Metro and small Co-op.
Overall a nice child friendly site with a lovely playgound. Slightly sloping in the tent field. We are already looking to return in August.
