We enjoyed a truly peaceful stay in this excellent, well thought-out, quiet site, with its attractive open spaces, surrounding trees full of bird-life, and swallows sweeping low across the open field beyond our tent.

Pitches are a good size, mostly flat or on a gentle slope, many having their own water tap, and just a few with sea views.

Toilet/washing/laundry/washing-up areas were immaculately clean at all times. Showers are free, of the push and hold type for water flow. Well-equipped laundry facilities (including iron) are all coin operated. The minimally equipped site shop will order newspapers and freeze ice packs (at a cost).

We stayed during term time, so no children around, but there are good play areas and facilities. There is also a separate, generously sized, dog-walking field. Wonderful walks abound, and the free bus service into Sidmouth is a bonus, though we did once have to wait an hour when the bus was too full to take us!

A very well maintained and welcoming site in a beautiful area. Site is very spacious but only one amenity block in one corner so a long walk from many pitches. Facilities are heated and very smart. Only criticism is that the shower cubicles are small and the whole place gets wet so you have to finish dressing outside the cubicle. There are no individual washing cubicles. In early May this was not a problem but must be tricky in high season. Loved Sidmouth, especially Neils Restaurant - great fish dishes and really friendly - Dukes was also good, and Lyme Regis is stunning.

Fourth visit to this peaceful friendly well run site. So quiet you can hear a pin drop. Childs play area in the middle so no noise. Lots of lovely walks, good eating places and shops in Sidmouth. The Toilets and showers etc can not be bested. The Staff are very helpful and friendly. So what are you waiting for? There is even a free bus into and back from Sidmouth.

We've just returned to London from this absolute gem of a place! I have been to a fair few camping and caravan parks over the years but this one is now my favourite. The staff are wonderfully friendly and accommodating, the warm croissants - delicious, the facilities are fab and the cleanest shower block I've ever seen! All set in the most peaceful and tranquil of surroundings and even a spectacular sea view! We shall most certainly be returning very soon.

Lovely campsite with very friendly and helpful staff. Safe for children to play but enough space around not to annoy other people. Nice children's play area in the centre of the park and well maintained. Facilities were also very good, cleaned regular and always hot water no matter what time of the day you had a shower. Laundry room was very spacious but everything you could need. On site shop with enough supplies to help make the visit easier. Plenty of pubs and restaurants near by for breakfast or meals. The Donkey Sanctuary was a little walk away but free entry was great for adults and children.

We are about to pull off, having extended our holiday and spent 12 enjoyable days here. The new owner, Mark is a friendly and helpful host, who is clearly determined to make a success of his new venture, and we wish him the best of luck. We shall be back next year!

Whilst walking the local lanes we met a few lost souls who had failed to pay heed to the clear directions given on the site's website, preferring to slavishly following their SatNavs instead. Programming these for the post code will take you along some very tight steep lanes and you will end up in the tiny village behind the site with little room to manoeuvre.

Having experimented, we discovered that the alternative post code of EX10 0PA or the decimal coordinates of N50. 69791 W003. 19935 would ensure that the correct route was taken from whichever direction we approached. Essentially, these represent a waypoint on the correct approach road some 250 yards before you reach the site, after which it becomes impossible to miss. For those without SatNavs please be sure to follow the brown signs.

On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who always had a wave and a smile whenever they saw us throughout our stay. The campsite itself is immaculate, the grounds are very well maintained as are the play area, pitch and putt green and dog exercise area. The laundry area and shower/toilet block were spotless and there was the added bonus of a bath available, great for those that like a soak. The shop stocked all the basics we required and many additional treats to tempt us. The site itself is spacious and the pitches have plenty of space around them. The static caravan we stayed in far exceeded our expectations, it was well equipped with everything we could possibly need during our week stay, and was spotless. There is an hourly shuttle bus into Sidmouth which is free and a brilliant service. Plenty of scenic walks from the site, perfect for both walkers and those that like to enjoy the beautiful countryside. Nearby is The Donkey Sanctuary which is within walking distance, or a short ride on the shuttle bus, great for families and entrance is free. The Norman Lockyer observatory is within walking distance and a beautiful small beach is only a pleasant 30 minute stroll away. A first class family and dog friendly site.

We had a fantastic time here, we arrived at site with a warm welcome. We did'nt book and was offered various pitches. The one we chose had a nice sea-view. The site including washroom toilet block was very tidy and clean. I said to my other half there must be edward scissorhands living on the site as all the grass were neatly mowed and grounds are clean. The hedges were so nicely square and trimmed. The area is hilly so its a walk up and down hills. We walked into sidmouth one night then went to a pub another which was around a mile walk which was nice food. Also there's a free hoppa bus that goes into sidmouth. That was brilliant. We enjoyed our stay and certainly will return one day.

Stayed here yet again, our forth visit and as always the facilities were top notch and staff very helpful. Had option of pitch on arrival.

As stated in previous review the location is not the best if you want to walk into town etc, but if you want a quiet relaxing tranquil stay then this is the place.

We will be visiting again in the future, well done to the owners and staff and keep up the hard work 10/10

Under new owners we used our ACSI card to visit this gem of a site 2 weeks ago. Spacious & well laid out as well as being excellently maintained & cleaned we could not have been better looked after. Located in quiet countryside, that is perfect for using the network of walking paths, the site is also served by a free Hopper minibus service that runs into Sidmouth regularly for those not up to climbing the steep hills in which this picture postcard seaside town nestles. A great site in a great spot!
