 What a fantastic site!

Whe were originally supposed to go to this site August 2008 however due to flooding the site was closed. We got a call from the site to let us know they had to cancel our holiday.

We decided to return to the site in April 2009 and must say its the best site we have been to. Upon our arrival we received a very warm welcome from the reception staff and was shown to our pitch.

The pitch was on a very slight slope and I mean very slight. The pitches are all good sizes, we just had a tent pitch with no electric.

The shower block/bathrooms are the best bit about the site! We have a toddler and found the family bathrooms absolutely fantastic. There is everything you need in there. A large sink to bath child in, a large worktop to dress child on, a toilet, sink and shower. There is plenty of room to take a pushchair in. And the very best thing. The rooms are heated! There was plenty of hot water as well.

The site is located about 1 mile off the A1 and some noise can be heard at night. However, it is not too bad a certainly didn't put us off our sleep.

The only thing I wish was better was the weather!

We have visited this site before but this was the first time in the recently opened 'big field'. A water point hasn't yet been installed in this field so a bit of a walk to the nearest point especially if you're at the far side. We were lucky as it was the hottest weekend of the year so the only complaint would be getting forced out of the tent at 8a.M. Due to the heat - not really a complaint! This site has one of the cleanest & warmest (when required) facility blocks we have come across. It is ideally based for visiting the towns of North Yorkshire by car but Boroughbridge is walkable (20 mins) if you fancy a few pints! There is a well stocked Morrisons within a couple of miles so handy if you forget something or need to top up supplies. All the staff are friendly and accommodating. The only down side is that you can hear the A1 if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction. It could also be considered a little pricey if paying non-member rates but the facilities are top notch so worth it.

Pleasant site which we used as a stopover en route south to Dover.

Pitches set around an open field - easy to drive on/off. River passes by the end of the site - can be prone to flooding so no leaving the van overnight.

Wardens very friendly - warm welcome. Clean modern toilet block. WiFi on site worked well.

Very handy for the A1 if heading South from Scotland for example.

One noted for future use!

Great site, lovely location, Ripon, Harrogate all very close. Boroughbridge has a couple of chinese takeaways, an indian, a chip shop + sit in, plenty of pubs. Morrisons supermarket is close by (not 24 hours)
We didn't hear any road noise from the A1. Turning right or left out of the site could be tricky, use the mirror provided on the other side of the road and you will have no problems. Great toilet block, no queues for the showers.
Lightwater valley theme park was a great day out and about a 20 minutes drive from the site.

There was no hard standing/hook up left when we booked for this site, but we are so glad being allocated on the big field over the weekend. Agreed all the good things been said about this site, if the weather is good I would rather stay in the standard pitch. A huge field big enough for at least 80 units but was only about a dozens of us there, so safe for children run around, we faced no one.
I will definitely go back

 What a wonderful site!

This was our first trip away with our new caravan and we were so pleased we picked it. Access was excellent as it is literally just off the A1 with no tricky little roads to deal with.
We were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff on reception. Then we followed a gentleman on a bicycle who offered us a few different pitches and let us choose our preferred one. He then guided us straight on to the pitch – explaining exactly how to turn the steering wheel which was very well appreciated for our first trip! Although I guess more experienced caravanner's may find it a bit condescending; but it did mean we were very quickly pitched up!

The hard standing was spacious and an electric point was very close. There is a river by the site but it is fenced off and more for people wanting to do fishing rather than walk by it. The toilet block was immaculate and the showers were lovely and warm with plenty of hot water even on the very busy bank holiday weekend. There’s a well equipped children’s play area and a games room to keep young ones entertained!

Nearby there are a number of little shops and bakers in Boroughbridge and a huge Morrison’s just a couple of miles away, so everything you need is there. We took the opportunity while we were at this site to visit Neil Morrisey’s pub, Ye Olde Punch Bowl Inn, at Marton Cum Grafton. It’s worth a visit – huge beer garden and the pint of blonde ale tastes completely different to the bottled stuff you buy at Tesco! There’s a lovely little farm shop nearby selling good home produce – Newby hall Farm shop, we enjoyed some nice food from there!

In summary this site was perfect – friendly staff, lovely spacious pitches and very close to amenities and pubs! Will definitely be returning for a break in the future!

3 Night Stay early April (2 Adults) - 1st time on a C&CC Site and I must say we have not been disappointed. Although possibly a little early in the season (nights very cold) the whole experience was excellent.
Helpful friendly site managers. Very clean, modern and warm toilet facilities with piping hot water. Short walk to Boroughbride - highly recommend the local working mens club- met with a warm welcome and cheap beer!

Will definitely be back when the nights are a little warmer.

We visited this site in October 2008 and found it to be an excellent location, immaculately clean toilet and shower facilities with plenty of hot water. Very helpful staff on site. Little chippy visits twice weekly (seasonal).
If taking small children like we did there is a soft play facility nearby on the industrial estate. The road we did not have a issue with and we will be returning sometime.
Morrisons supermarket 2 mins drive .

Booked for one week, but on day 2 a flood warning was given and everyone had to vacate the site. There was also a huge, welly-deep puddle around the play area.

This is a great site and this was our second visit but beware if bad weather is forecast as the site is on the flood plain. The campsite floods so that Boroughbridge town doesn't.

All of this is no-ones fault anyway, and I would recommend this site because of the spotless and warm toilets, the friendly staff, who helped us find another site to go to at short notice, and the little play area that my kids love.

The highlight for my children was going to Treasure Island, a soft play area almost next door in a little industrial estate. Its clean, not too busy and with home made food. They would choose boroughbridge again and again for this reason!

Very clean site with, what I can confirm once again like previous reviewers, are superb warm washrooms and plenty of loos and showers.
Great riverside location (but as said before it is not accessible unless you walk to Roecliffe or Boroughbridge).
We will revist again, great location for those interested in National Trust properties. Log cabins now built on site for sale. Nice but very expensive
