Very clean site with, what I can confirm once again like previous reviewers, are superb warm washrooms and plenty of loos and showers. Great riverside location (but as said before it is not accessible unless you walk to Roecliffe or Boroughbridge). We will revist again, great location for those interested in National Trust properties. Log cabins now built on site for sale. Nice but very expensive

I agree with all the previous review but would like to add my findings. If I were to give campsite awards then this site would have 4 .
1 . Cleanest toilet award - enough said.
2. Friendliest warden award- nice chap
3. Most expensive- £24 for a 2 man tent for 2 nights, although we were not using mains hook up we were still charged as this was all they had left ???- you tell me !
4. Lights out award . At 11.30 on a sat night the place was in darkness. Some reading this may consider this a plus point , others not.
No bar on site - nearest pub is 20 mins walk away .

Really neat clean site with superb warm washrooms and plenty of loos and showers. Nice riverside location (but a pity it was inaccessible). Great dog walking facilities too. Very handy for A1 but that also makes it noisy, especially when there is no wind to disperse traffic sounds. Wardens and staff very friendly.

Great site very clean and well kept, brilliant dog walk area and beautifully clean toilets and showers. The site staff couldn't be nicer and were very helpful. Boroughbridge is a little further away than we were given to believe and it takes about 3/4 of an hours to walk there, but it's a lovely town to wander around.

This was our second visit to this site this year, the first being Easter. Once again, we weren't disappointed. The wardens are really friendly and accommodating. The ablutions, spotlessly clean and the site in general, clean, tidy and well maintained. Boroughbridge, itself, is in walking distance of the site, probably a 15/20 min walk and there is a Morrisons Supermarket not too far away. A Fish & Chip van visits the site on a Saturday tea time, which is great. Will be revisiting as this site isn't too far for us to travel for a quick weekend getaway!

Lovely site. Totally level with the river at the bottom of the site. Very friendly and helpful warden etc. Nice little children's play area, we stayed with toddler and she just enjoyed toddling about (as they tend to!). Toilets, showers etc were fabulously clean. 20 min walk to Boroughbridge which is nice little place, had a nice drink and a lovely meal in one of the pubs (name escapes me now but the chap behind the bar was extremely nice to us). Walked back and had a glass of wine sat down by the river as the sun set and the ducks waddled about - idyllic. The A1 is close by but didnt notice the noise. One of our favourites and definitely recommended. Left with a warm glow (nothing to do with the sunburn from one of the few nice days this summer).

Hi We like the Boroughbridge camping club site too. Toilets were immaculate. Nice fenced off dog walking area. Lovely level site with ease for pegging. Play park was small and did get very noisy at times but then we were right next door to it. We too would be returning. Colin

This is a very easy site to get to, straight off the A1. This was our first C&CC site we've stayed at since joining and we were "well" impressed. The toilets were spotless clean with flowers and pics on the wall. The site was well tendered and clean also. The site warden was a very friendly chap. Play park small though. Would definitely use this site again.

Very friendly site, and lovely shower and toilet block - extremely clean! Despite being virtually next to the motorway it is also very quiet. Friendly staff, although we did go out for the day and found that our spot had been given to someone else! Luckily we were allocated another as the site was not full. The children's playground is very small and only really consists of a slide and a couple of swings, but the site was very quiet so there was plenty of room for ball games, and there is a fence to stop children going too close to the river. The site is about 20 mins away from the York park and ride scheme. Rawcliffe Bar park and ride has a special section for campervans - the attendant will come and open the barrier for you. There is a good playground in the adjacent field for the kids. Return ticket on the bus is only £4 for a family of 4, and there is loads to do in York.

This is the friendliest campsite I have ever stayed on. The staff were very helpful although somewhat strict when it came to pitching - you had to go exactly where they directed you. The toilets were the best I've seen and always immaculate. The local newsagent came around in his van each morning selling newspapers and milk and there was a visiting fish and chip van on a Saturday night. There was also a chidren's play area with slides etc. The river runs behind the site and you can gain access to it for fishing or swimming, there is a Morrisons a short drive away. We cycled through the local villages to Harrogate through Knaresborough, a thoroughly pleasant ride and almost completely flat the whole way!
