We arrived 7.30 on a Friday evening to a very pleasant welcome. Staff were excellent with the grandchildren and informative on arrival.
The site is very clean and well looked after. The amenities/toilet blocks are spotless and everything works. Lovely warm showers.
These people enjoy their work and it shows.
We are planning to return soon for a weekend with some more of the family and won't hesitate to recommend to other people.

This is my second visit to the site. I booked to camp for 4 days with my 3 children, (9 to16). It was a very wet start to the holiday and the campsite was only 1/2 full so I was a bit surprised to be placed at the furthest point from the toilets, In the very corner of the campsite, however apart from the long early morning walks this turn out to be quite a private spot. The site is immaculately maintained and the toilets and showers are always clean. There is some background noise but not enough to keep you awake. Some facilities had suffered in the recent flood and were not open on our visit. The TV / Game room was empty so I would check when booking if this is important to you.

We have had a lovely weekend at this site and will definitely return.
We had a lovely welcome on our arrival and shown to our pitch and helped into position.
The pitches are very flat and plenty of space, some pitches are located next to the river which is a lovely setting.
The shower/toilet block is very clean and looked after. There is also a family room with a shower, toilet and baby changing facilities.
The washing up room is also well kept and so is the chemical waste room. To be honest all the facilities in the block look very new.
The site is really well placed - Close to the A1 and very easy access into the site. Close to Ripon, York, Harrogate and many more.
Very close to the site is a pub called The Crown Inn in Roecliffe village. What a lovely little pub.
We will be returning to this site.

This site is a flood site which you can be moved out of at short notice, which is not quite what it implies when you read the description of it. To reach the toilet block it has 19 steps up and the same down or a very long slope, the field we were in had a large number of vans in it quite close together (which you don't expect on a club site)had only one water tap which was at one end of the field, all rubbish had to be taken to reception area up slope and down the other side.
Warden almost bit our head off asking for our mobile number when we arrived and most unpleasant when we asked why. Would not recommend this site and we most certainly will not use it again, which is a pity as we have family recently moved into the area.

We had booked a super pitch on this site and from the handbook and pictures it looks lovely. We contacted ahead as we knew the site was closed until 1st March due to flooding and were told everything was fine and they were open.
On arrival we were shown to our super pitch (there are just two of these) which are at the front of the site near the toilets and entrance. The location to the loos is excellent and the loos are lovely, warm and clean however that's the only positive thing about these pitches. The super pitches are located only a few metres from the main road. You can clearly see and hear large amounts of traffic whizzing past including large lorries and tankers and on the other side of the road is an industrial estate. Traffic noise doesn't really bother me but I found this level and closeness to be intrusive to say the least. In front of our pitch was also a skip full of debris we presume from the flood.
My husband went to speak to the wardens and the lady was very helpful but her husband was fairly unfriendly and unhelpful, making comments such as 'the road has always been there'. Our argument is that if its always there, why not advise people when booking that there is significant road noise on these pitches and also that the area in front of the super pitches is not as it should be due to skips/flood debris. Its not at all how I would expect a super pitch to be and given you pay top money for these pitches, I would expect a little forewarning about our outlook. We were given a refund of some of our booking but the next morning my husband walked our dog passed the loos that were being cleaned. The lady warden acknowledged him and said hello but the male warden gave no eye contact and never spoke so we packed up and left. The positives of this site are the toilet/shower block are lovely and warm and clean
Warning…don’t book a super pitch if traffic noise is an issue and outlook is important to you

Really nice site, very cyclist-friendly. Facilities as good as CCC sites always seem to be - like the sinks in cubicles for privacy - and seem a lot less like public toilets than some other sites. Dishwashing and clothes-drying facilities all good. Lots of tourist info and magazines and books around. Friendly welcome and keen that I got a pitch I liked (I had just cycled 65 miles and was rather indecisive!)
So I ended up next to the river with some ducks and a lovely rural view.
The site is near to the A1(M) so there's road noise, but it's a constant hum and I found it easy to get used to.
Boroughbridge is a surprisingly nice place and well worth a potter about doing the heritage trail, visiting cafes. Further afield Knaresborough is super, and Ripon is interesting too. Both easily cyclable on side roads. Both have lots of cafes too - sorry, it is an obsession if you cycle everywhere!

This site is very attractive, well maintained flower pots and mowed grass. The toilet/shower block was immaculate every time I went there with fresh flowers too! The pitch was very generous and level. Wardens were very friendly and approachable. Great location on river bank with ducks visiting tent every day.
Recreation room was an added bonus to play pool on rainy evenings.
Great location for visiting Yorkshire.

First the good points.
-The site is just off the A1, so easy to find and no winding roads.
-Boroughbridge is 0. 8 miles away and has many pubs and Cafes.
- We were on a very large field that still had lots of room on an August weekend, so it may be worth trying this site if others are full.
- Its possible to hire boats nearby, but book in advance as they were all taken when we tried.
- The site is very clean and has everything that you need. All staff friendly.
Now the bad points.
- The charge is per person. This is actually a good point if you are on your own but not if you have many adults in your party. The cost as a member was about £9. 50 each per person without EHU.
- The toilets are closed for cleaning 11am to 12. 30. Only the family room toilets are left open. On departure day myself and others were left queueing. It would make much more sense to clean the toilets in the afternoon.
Overall, a very nice site and we would return.

What a great site and even though it was bank holiday I never had to queue or wait for anything.
The site wardens are nice and helpful and the local town Boroughbridge is a nice friendly place with a few pubs though as with most pubs nowadays there main aim is to sell food.
You can get buses from the site or the town to Ripon, Harrogate Knaresborough and York but because it was Easter bank holiday we could only get a bus on Saturday so we went to Ripon.
Ripon a city is a historic market town with a Cathedral and is well worth a visit we also went to Knaresborough by car on Sunday and that is a beautiful old market town.
Near the site is the local 'pub' The Crown Inn in Roecliffe village is not a pub as advertised but a restaurant we went for a walk to it one evening were sold a drink then told as we weren't eating we couldn't sit a a table in case more diners came in we would have to stand at a tiny bar or go outside so we drank up and left vowing to ourselves never to return for a meal or drink.
We would definitely return to the site as both it and the area are well worth the visit

What a great site. Wardens are realy friendly and helpful giving plenty of local information.
The site, well what can I say! situated right next to the canal yet 2 mins from the A1, you would never know that you were that close.
The amenities are warm, clean and able for the site. The pitches are plentiful and large.
Down side is that you do have to pre book as the pitches go quickly.
There is plenty to do in the area with the cycle network running adjacent to the site. Bus route directly outside the gates with ample of opportunities to vary the places you wish to see.
Wildlife on the site is friendly with the ducks, moor hens, and other birds frequenting your pitch on a regular basis.
Cant wait to come back VERY soon.
