This was our first camping trip and we chose well with Waldegrave. We were greeted by a helpful lady who directed us to our pitch and gave us a rundown of the faciliteies and rules. The site was extremely tidy and the pitches well marked out with hedges and we had our own water and electric.

The toilets and showers were spotlessly clean to my wifes delight, they are well lit and under floor heating means they are nice and warm in the early morning. The camp shop was well stocked and open till 9pm so

You can get last minute bits and pieces if needed, it was quite reasonably priced for a camp shop as well. The bars and restaurant were immaculate and the food (takeaway in our case) was very nice.

The swimming pool looked clean and well manned by two lifeguards but it was a bit to chilly for us to try it out. The launderette has a freezer for campers to use for your ice blocks which was free. On site fishing looked tempting and I did see some catches being made.

There is an 11pm noise rule which we did not see being enforced but to be honest there wasn't an issue here. The beach is easy to walk to and when we were there it was almost deserted. There was lots of crabs and oysters on the beach. We were so impressed we booked a week in the summer holidays when we left.

In summary we would have no hesitation recommending this site.

This was our first time camping so after reading the reviews was looking forward to going to this site, but we were disappointed.... that we didn't book longer.

It's a lovely site, we have two young children 2 year old and 8 month old and they loved it. We didn't go into the pubs to drink or go swimming but all looked clean and tidy. Shop was well stocked with everything from milk to gas refills and not too badly priced.

Lovely sites for dogs beach and walk area and the site is very clean and provides dog bags too, there is no excuse not to clean up after yourself.

Will go back

Having been left in the lurch on the Friday morning by our pre-booked camp-site, we frantically phoned round for an alternative site. We were lucky to be able to get a non-electric pitch with a minimum three night stay, as it was a Bank Holiday weekend.

Arriving late on the Friday night, we set up the caravan and family tent on adjacent pitches.

The following day was sunny and warm so the children spent the morning in the heated outdoor swimming pool. Evening entertainment was in the form of a Blues Brothers / Commitments tribute.

The following day, the weather changed dramatically to high wind and rain which tested many of the units. Daytime entertainment was a Steel band in the entertainment complex with a bbq and the evening entertainment was a singer who stepped in when the booked act cancelled. Entertainment was of a high value. Sky sports was available in the bar and there was also an adult pool room.

The Restaurant was well worth a visit where the food was of a high standard. Booking is advisable as it was very popular. We had a full English breakfast on our final morning, which was value for money. Children were also catered for.

The on-site mini-mart was well stocked and reasonably priced. The French bread, cooked on the premises, was a treat!

Generally, the staff were courteous and helpful and even provided us with a jump start when we flattened our car battery relieving us of the neccessity to call out our breakdown service.

The only downside was the lack of a real ale. However, I was assured by the Bar Steward that he had tried to stock up with Hobgoblin. Pumps were available although not used. We had several family visitors to the site over the weekend and the general consensus is that they will also book in when we return next year!

Had a two night stop over the BH weekend, as already stated the facilities are very good. Our pitch was slightly sloping away but not too much of a problem. Need to be careful regarding electric useage but a camping type kettle can be used no problem (ours is 3.2 amp)

Had a slight problem with some kids behind us that pulled out our and others hook up cable, but got that sorted ! Overall a pleasureable stop and great weather too.

Like others, we used this site for a one night stopover because it is close to home and to get to grips with a new unit. What a lovely surprise! The site is level and the pitches divided by small bushes. Each pitch has an EHU and water. The toilets were really clean all the time we were there and there were lots of clean, free showers.
As others have mentioned, there is evening entertainment, (even at this time of year) a restaurant, take away, games room and well stocked shop. Although I confess that as we were there such a short time, we did not actually visit any of them. We did, however, visit the huge dog walking area and the beach. There are loads of dog bins all over the site and the information leaflet you are given when you arrive tells you that if you dont have plastic bags, they have them at Reception.
At the end of the weekend, we asked if we could leave later than the 12 noon leaving time and we were told that normally it would cost £3 but as it was a quiet weekend, we could stay on for free.

All in all a really good camp which we will be visiting again. The only downside is the electric hook up which only supplies 6amps, so you cant use an electric kettle. Although they do give you information and guidelines on how much electricity different appliances use, so you can decide what you can (or cant) turn on.

Was trying to keep an open mind after some of the reviews on here and glad we did. Arrived and paid the £10 barrier fee was told our pitch was a bit waterlogged so we were put on another field. Plenty of space for the motorhome, had arrived to lovely warm sunshine so were happy.

Good number of dog waste bins around, some fishing lakes (which could do with some cosmetic finishing off imo) the toilets were separate to the showers. All good.

Used the restaurant twice for an evening meal Sat night and then for Sunday lunch ok prices and great quality of food compared to other places we've stayed. Staff extremely friendly and hard working. There was a private function on the Fri night so could not use one of the rooms so we decamped to the closed restaurant where it was much quieter. On the Sat night we walked up to the the complex and saw a vocalist playing some fairly middle of the road stuff and we were chatting away to other guests. All very friendly.

So all in all, good value £42 for 2 adults and one dog for 3 nights a bargain as still classed as low season (even though for us it was Easter school hols so was expecting to pay £20 pn at least), lovely staff and we'll go back later on in the season but not July/August don't think the small postage stamp sized stage could handle 100 kids!

We visited during October half term and ended up staying all week. The site was brilliant in every way, the toilets and shower facitlies were plentiful and very clean, the pitches had both electricity and water which was lovely and were well set out. The staff were helpful and the entertainment in the evenings was great, we had so much fun. The site is ideally placed near the beach and easily accesible. There is also a large dog walking area available, with plenty of bins on hand. A brilliant week and an excellent site.

Like many others who have already posted we went to this site for our first Camping trip mainly because its only about an hours drive from where we live. Hubby and I took one of our Daughters whos 17 and her friend,we had already mad a point of telling them this was going to be a cheap few days away which it was. We cooked 3 days out of the four so only tried the food on site once which was chips which werent as nice as mine lol.
The Toilets were clean but Grubby, shop well stocked(enough choc to keep me happy) staff were friendly enough.THe Beach only short walk away although a little too chilly to relax on when we visted. The site was noisy on the Friday night we stayed music went on quite late.

All in all we were happy with site .We are going again for a few nites later in month with my Other Daughter and Boyfriend especially as the pitches are only 12 nite ,prob because most people will be spending more time in the pub as itll be colder then bbbbbbbbbrrrrrr so therefore spending more money in there hic hic.

Next year we will go further afield in our new Monty 6-yes we love the tent by the way :-)

Went to visit this site before we booked as this is our 1st year of touring. Thought it was ideal for a bank holiday weekend.  The pitches were set out nice with rows of small bushes so as not to get confused where your boundary for the pitch was. Each pitch had its own electric and water supply. Plenty of toilets and shower blocks, although the showers could be better designed, as there is no where to put your clothes whilst showering. Could be cleaned out a little more during bad weather, as it rained for the last 2 days of our stay. However, lower pitches adjacent to the dog walking area do get flooded.

Kids were happy enough playing in the football pitch mostly all day. They also took their bikes which gave them the freedom of the park, which was ideal. Only a few arcade games available for the kids too, which was ideal, working out to be a reasonably priced weekend away.

Ideal park to take your dog, with its own field to walk them in, also linking the same field onto the beach, which was surprisingly nice.

Nice little shop, which seemed to cater for everyone, which also sold caravan accessories, fishing equipment, as well as fresh bread etc, all reasonably priced.

They have 2 bars and a restaurant, all recently re-built, with some evening entertainment.

We would stay there again only for a long weekend, but what we found common with a few parks, you cant notice the difference between the staff and the guests. There was also no visible first aid point, which we were aware of having children.  Unfortunately we did have quite noisy neighbours (a bunch of women), even though the brochure says no same sex parties, who kept us a wake most nights with various men visiting their caravan every night, hence there is no night security guards or any out of hours emergency contact numbers. This would not of been a problem if we didn't have children, but as it is a family site, it was a little disappointing.

Over-all a large pleasant site, catering for all. 7/10

Just returned from Waldegraves. We had a fantastic time and the weather was glorious.
The pitches are of ample size and all have EHU and water.
The shower blocks and toilets  were kept clean and tidy.
The washing up facilities were also of a good standard.

The restaurants and bar were also very good. The breakfast was a particular favourite on our last morning.

Kids well catered for with large open areas , two playgrounds, football/basketball court and the beach only a short walk away

Swimming pool can get busy during peak times but a band system is put into use so everybody can fairly get a swim

The evening entertainment for the kids and adults were also very good, Nick and Dan on top form.

Overall we were very impressed and will definitely be returning
