March 2005 This site is the only one on the banks of Loch Ness so it must be busy in the summer - it was pretty busy now although I don't think the tent field was properly open (not all the toilet blocks were). We had elec hook up and two kids and it was Easter week - it was £17.
The toilets and showers which we did go in were tiled - but the tiles in the whole shower area were soaking which meant there was nowhere dry at all to hang your clothes!!! Somehow we and my daughter managed!
The owner is really relaxed and the kids play area is good. You have to visit here for the views over Loch Ness - it is great!!

September 2004 Camping on the banks of Loch Ness with that view, how can life get better! You are so close to the Loch that Nessie could nibble your toes. This campsite is all about location, location, location.
Ever so sweet ducklings are so tame, they come to visit you for titbits. We found out they like eating Snackerjacks!
Good chippie in Fort Augustus that cooks everything fresh to order.
Only annoying thing is the RAF flying over which is soooooo loud and the mossies.
Stay here, put your feet up and enjoy gazing out onto the Loch - its wonderful.

August 2004 This campsite is absolutely great for its scenery and location. The downfalls are the tents are too near to each other and the midges are terrible. I got bit absolutely hundreds of times all over. The toilet blocks are filthy and are not cleaned early in the morning only cleaned in the afternoon. There are not enough showers and everyone is queuing up for a shower. The club house is okay if your wanting entertainment. This campsite is okay for a stopover while travelling through.

August 2003 Nice location, but dont mention midges!. Stopped at this site only one night as the place was crammed, backpackers were camping between motorhomes and any spare piece of grass.
Toilets and showers clean but only adequate. To be honest I had a few moans about the site to myself (it is registered as a 5 star and at £13.50 is a fair price), such as waiting ages to get served at the bar, most of the food on the menu was off that night, 15mins wait again to pay for a meal,
The toilet disposal is quite a carry from the road. I will give the site the benefit of the doubt and am prepared to wait until next year for improvements.

may 2003 This site is PERFECT! Spectacular views across the loch towards the mountains and the Great Glen Walk just across the road.We arrived at about 7pm and the owner Bob,made us feel welcome straightaway."Find a pitch, and if you need help setting up come and get me". Their is the choice of grass or hard pitches each having a great view.Three shower blocks with free hot water, and excellent facilities.A laundry with either a 50p drier or free outside rotary lines was ideal for when the little darlings decided to go in the water without removing trousers first!Free fishing from the shore (about 6 foot from some pitches) and a slipway if you have a boat.On our last night we decided to eat in the on-site bar.Nice and cosy, three pool tables and a large screen tv with Sky (so you can still watch Football!).The beer was cold and refreshing and the hot food was delicious. If i'd have eaten there on the first night the BBQ and microwave would not have been used so often! To keep the kids happy, there are good play areas and the loch means they can get wet if they want (mine did). There is also a resident population of ducks and tiny chicks to impress the kids (aah). Seasonal pitches, statics for hire under cover shelters for BBQ's or when it rains (it still wasn't cold) I would recommend this site to everyone.Bob only took over this site in March 2003 and he has some plans to make it better.Inevitably this will increase the price (just £13.50 per night including 16A electric) but believe me it will still be worth it.Opening from March til January means Hogmanay, anyone else up for a party?
