Camp site lies right between Seahouses and the village of Beadnell. About 15mins walk to them both.

On arrival we went to the owners house to tell them we had arrived. We were advised of our pitch number and where the campsite was and where the loo's were, that was the first and last time we saw the owners.

Once on site we noticed the site was nice and flat and the pitches were massive, could have probably got 2 of our tents on. Also on site were caravans and camper vans. Nearly all pitches were electric hook up but there were some without.

The site was very quiet on a night, no problem getting to sleep, our neighbours had 2 very large dogs but we never heard anything.

The facilities are poor for a caravan and camping club site. One block caters for all, this meant you had to do your washing up in the same place as you went to the toilet, not very hygenic I wouldn't have thought. There was only one sink for washing pots so if you went at the same time as someone else you had to wait. There were 2 wash basins and 2 loo's and 2 showers all in the same block, this meant whilst you were showering you either had to listen to people on the loo or washing up, there is no segregation for male and female.

This problem really needs sorting out, my wife went to the loo one night and there was a bloke in the loo with the door wide open for everyone to see, this can be very intimidating and not something you really want to see.

Also when you washed your hands after you'd been to the loo there was nothing to dry your hands on. The owners had put a sign up complaining about the toilet rolls going missing but it was probably getting used to dry your hands, a blower or paper towels is needed.

The town of Seahouses is quite small, it as a COOP if you need essentials, there's about 4 pubs all of which do food and a nice harbour were you catch the boat to the Farne Islands.

We probably won't visit this site again, it needs money spending on a decent toilet block, it isn't like they don't have the space and for what they charge they certainly have the money to make the facilities a lot better.

I meant to leave a review for this site ages ago after our visit at Easter and never managed to get round to it.

Just can't say any more than the last reviewer really, fabulous little site with no overcrowding even though the owners could certainly get another 10 or so pitches on if they wanted to.

Basic facilities, and loo rolls in short supply so bring your own. Never too busy if you timed it right, like not wanting a shower when the dive teams returned, as they did take over the facilities for an hour, but it did not interfere with our routine at all. And we were not anywhere near the animal sheds which was great because I would imagine it could be quit noisy early on, as this is a working farm still. This adds to the enjoyment though as my youngest daughter loved the animals

Across the road from a gorgeous beach, wonderful for early evening strolls just as dusk was drawing into night.

Seahouses has everything you need in terms of shops, pubs and chippies etc, although we never used the pubs so can't comment on them. We did try to eat at a recommended pub called The Ship at High Newton, but it was fully booked, so a bit of a shame cos it looked lovely, although the kids still went and played in the sea while we had a beer, will go next time after booking first.

So much to do in this area we needed more than a long weekend and will return for a week at some point hopefully soon.

Go here, its very very good!

Stayed here for two nights - lovely site, very quiet, facilities basic but adequate. Loads of room for kids to play in middle of site as pitches all round edge, lovely large level pitches. Two mins in car to both Seahouses and Beadnell - I am biased because this is my favourite part of the world - the beaches and scenery are fab!

This is a good, quiet, little campsite, well laid out, plenty of space and decent level pitches.

The site was nice and safe for the children to play, the central area has no pitches on so there is good visibility and a gate to slow the traffic down.

As far as the facilities went, the unisex washroom / shower / loo wash-up area was a bit too 'intimate' for comfort as far as we were concerned. Drainage and smells (and noise) were a bit of an issue as previous reviewers have noted.

A separate dishwashing area would be a big improvement- In the warm weather the proximity of the loos wasn't too pleasant.

The showers were fine: plenty of time (8 mins) and hot water for your 20p - we found this was more than adequate (and I like a long shower!) Because the shower trays were slow to drain, flip flops or similar will improve the shower experience! Only one of the cubicles had a stool in, which was a big help keeping clean clothes etc off the wet concrete floor but there are hooks too.

A refurbishment of the washing facilities could turn this nice site into an excellent one.

We wouldn't be put off returning here but don't expect a luxury bathroom experience if you are visiting.

BUT this IS a fab location for beaches. 5 mins to Seahouses in the car (Co-op, bakers, Fish and chips, boat trips). There is an excellent butcher in Bamburgh (10 mins up the coast) for all your BBQ and picnic stuff.

Lots of castles and places for the visitor to entertain the family within a short drive and the area is popular with cyclists too with lots of quiet lanes and well-signposted routes.

The last 2 reviewers commented that there were no shower curtains.Well, there are now!

Also the dishwashing sink had loads of piping hot water, so no gripes about that.

The site was full but we never needed to queue for the showers, (it might be an idea to bring a spare loo roll though - the washrooms are serviced once a day and ran out at the last minute once or twice!)

I really don't understand the review beneath as I found this campsite simply divine. The field was flat, firm ground - a dream for putting in pegs! The pitches were probably the largest I've seen, people certainly weren't crammed in.

Yes when we went there was a tiny part of the field fenced off to try and rejuvenate the ground, put it is right next the entrance and doesn't affect anything - not worthy of a mention!

The campsite doesn't need to be labelled as own-san advised at all. There is perfectly adequate facilities. Two showers, two toilets - unisex. The shower provided a long hot shower for 20p, I had to turn them temp down it was so hot. And that was being last in the queue after a party of scuba divers were in there! The sink also provided hot water, admittedly not a huge sink full but enough to wash pots and the drainage was rigid - believe me I checked after that review - not a problem! The site doesn't advertise heated facilities and come on if you are camping in April you have to expect it! However while we were there is was quite cold and it didn't bother us at all while in the shower. YES, the was no curtain divide but honestly this is nothing new to us seasoned campers at all and the drying area is big enough to not really be affected by it.

Yes you are on a working farm but it didn't smell and there was hardly any noise for the animals and even if there were - YOU ARE ON A WORKING FARM!

Yes parking 'can be' an issue in Seahouses but I have been going for years and never had a problem finding parking even in the height of summer.

The best thing is the short hop over the dunes to the beach, after all that's the whole reason for going there!

Usually go to the C&C site down the road but it wasn't open yet and went here - glad we did - its a real gem, ignore the bottom review and go for the rest - capital little campsite!

This was our first outing of the year in our new tent. The site is situated 0.8 miles from the centre of Seahouses. This is ideal as Seahouses has a Co-op and more eating places than many larger towns. Back to the site. At the time of year we visited, it was very cold and very windy - to the point that we nearly gave up on two occasions to come home. We persevered however and I'm glad we did. The field is level and generally well maintained, however the winter hasnt been good to the ground and a few patches have had to be fenced off - albeit temporarily to allow the grass to grow again. Thankfully this doesn't affect ANY pitches. Unfortunately the wind also doesn't seem to take any prisoners as its more of a swirl around the field than a wind going in any particular direction. Again I would say more due to the time of year we visited - Trees and bushes still quite bare, so no natural shelter - except the massive barn, which seemed to 'bounce' the wind rather than block it.

Now to the facilities. Washbasins with no plugs and the hot water running at a trickle for 10 seconds then back to cold. The sink for washing dishes was the same, a blast of hot water for around 10-15 seconds then cold water. Not great for washing dishes at all. The showers were too exposed, no curtain between shower and changing area - stone floor and perishing cold in the changing area. You also had to put 20p in the meter - outside the shower cubicle, so if 8 minutes isnt long enough, then you need to open the door and walk a couple of steps to put more money in. I don't mind paying for a shower if its worth the money, but in this case it was not.Although the shower on the left hand side was slightly better, but didn't always work after inserting your 20p. All in all the facilities were basic. I didn't like the fact either that when emptying the dish sink the waste was going into a gap in the ground and the pipe usually fell out as the water emptied, soaking me and the floor. Its obviously a converted stables, but its not really up to the standards that I'd expect for family camping. I mention the words family camping, as the owner did tell me that its families they are trying to encourage!

This aside, the site was nice and clean - and not too smelly for a working Beef and Lamb farm. The animals are loud around feeding time, but its only to be expected on a farm. My kids are the same when they're hungry.

As for the local area. The beach across from the site is in my opinion among the best I've seen in Europe never mind the UK. Beadnell bay had a nice beach to, but nowhere as beautiful and unspoilt as the one into seahouses. There's also a nearby golfcourse and Seahouses has amusement arcades for the gamblers out there. There's a fab gift, toy, pound, odds and ends shop in Seahouses that is worth a visit. A museum with a trout pool and the story of fishing in Seahouses is also worth a visit too. I will say this of Seahouses. Parking is a bit of a nightmare - It is ALWAYS busy. Bear this in mind if staying at Annstead. It might be better to walk in. Its not that far and no hills in sight either. Alnwick is also near (around 10 miles) and Berwick upon Tweed (around 14 miles). You'll find the bigger supermarkets in both these towns and it may be better to stock up there rather than the co-op, as its not that great stockwise and is quite expensive for most things! All in all, Annstead farm is a nice quiet site, but the facilities let it down - especially if you are going with a family.

We've just returned from 5 days here in our tent. I can't really add much to the other reviews here.

A large field with pitches all around the edge which is well sheltered on most sides (we were close to a large barn so were very well sheltered). This was great for the kids as we could sit at our tent and watch the children run around in the area in the middle of the field. The facilities are basic but clean with just 2 showers, 2 toilets and 3 sinks but as mentioned they are clean and we rarely had to wait to use anything.

The site was a good mix of tents and caravans, almost everyone was a young family. This meant it was generally very quiet after 9pm every night with the only interuptions being the farm animals in the field next to the tent.

As mentioned the beach is over the road from the farm although we preferred the beach on the Bamburgh side of seahouses. Seahouses itself is a 3 minute drive away with lots of fish & Chip shops and a co-op.

If you plan on visiting the local towns, get a car park pass as parking in town is fairly expensive. The pass cost us £12 from the tourist information office and gave us free parking in all council owned car parks in the area for 7 days (we had already spent £5 on parking in the first 2 days before we found out about this and thought it a shame no-one had told us about it earlier).

We will definitely consider this site again if we plan on returning to the area.

Spent one night here using the site's bunkbarn, which is adjecent to the camping field. The site is based on a working farm, midway between Beadnell and Seahouses and the beach is a minutes walk directly across the road. The facilities were spotlessly clean, with hot showers available at a small extra cost for all site users.
The touring field was set within the farm grounds, set on flat grass pitches, all with electric hook up. The bunkbarn was well maintained with eight beds and a kitchen area and seemed to have been recently converted.

Just returned from a 7 night stay at Annstead Farm with my husband and 4 chidlren.

What a little treasure this site is.

Large level pitches on a beautifully kept enclosed field. Loads of room for the children to play on the field without getting in other campers way.

The toilets were always clean as were the showers which were always hot and lasted ages. There is also a washing machine and tumble drier.

The owners were friendly and helpful.

Nearby (a nice walk away) is Seahouses which has a well stocked Coop and a lovely bakery and good fish and chip shop.

Alwick is only a stones throw away too.

The best bit was the beach. 5 minutes walk away and great for rock pooling. There are also lots of other beaches nearby - all within walking distance

I can't wait to return next year.

We stayed here for 1 night during our tour of the area and haven't got much to add to the reviews below, the site is level, grassy (well kept) and very quiet. The only thing I can add is that we were inundated with flies. Whether it's because the site is located on a working farm or whether it was just the time of year we couldn't decide but after about half an hour, the van was full of them and they didn't respond to the fly spray we had with us ('Kills flies in seconds', but didn't do what it said on the can!). Other than that, we had no complaints and will probably visit again when it's not fly season.
