We have just spent three nights at this wonderful campsite in our folding camper. I can honestly say it is the best campsite we have been on, and my husband and I have been all over England camping. The friendliness of the staff was fantastic. The toilet and shower facilities were wonderful. We had breakfast one morning in the little cafe which is also open to the public. It was delicious. The pitch we had was a full service pitch which was great and made life so much easier. I can't find any fault at all with anything. We shall definitely be returning to it. Happy Camping.

Just came home from a fantastic 3 night break at New Lodge Farm. The camp site is faultless! Toilets and showers are immaculate, the site is clean and tidy with plenty of recycling / water points.

In our welcome pack, we had loads of information about the farm, and local places to go off walking, places to eat and about Simon and Sarah.

Everyone on site was so welcoming, going above and beyond to make your stay that bit more special.

This site is well worth a visit! We for sure will definitely be visiting again.

We booked on this site for 5 nights. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly wardens who showed us the facilities and let us pick our own spot to pitch the tent. The shower/toilet and washing up area were spotlessly clean and maintained every day. The farm shop was open each day but offers more on the weekends. We thoroughly enjoyed our break, yes there was a small amount of noise from the A road, but no more than we get at home. We will certainly be back soon.

Site is easy to find, directly off A43. The traffic noise was noticeable, but didn't bother us. We received a very warm welcome from a warden and given a 'welcome pack'. Can I suggest they include info such as proximity/postcodes of supermarkets?

Site facilities are brand new - very nice, spotlessly clean but I had some issues with the shower cubicles. Although very large, with a large shower head, the showers are push-button, lasting 15 seconds per push - very frustrating. Also, despite being large, there is no curtain/screen to prevent splashing the changing area so I had difficulty finding a dry patch to change in. There were only 2 hooks on the door, more would have been useful. We stayed 5 nights and for 4 of those there was only 1 hand wash bottle to share between 4 sinks. There are no privacy cubicles, which, for a new site I thought was surprising. Also, I didn't notice any disabled facilities (if the larger of the showers was meant for disabled use, then there should have been grab rails etc) - perhaps the disabled facilities were somewhere else that I didn't spot? There was a massive pot wash/laundry room.

Something we are increasingly seeing, and not only on this site, is that people are not keeping their dogs on leads, and no one tells them about it. The 'rule' on this site even specified the maximum length of lead to be used, but several dogs were not kept on a lead and the owners weren't told about it. So what's the point in having the rule? Also, there is a one-way sign, but very few people took any notice of it.

The biggest disappointment for me was the site itself. It was just a big open field, with rough hardcore road and hard standings, and very exposed to the elements. There was no planting of hedges or anything to shield pitches or for a certain amount of privacy. The pitches were, however, quite large with its own water tap. Be warned though - if you choose a hard standing as we did, you may find it very difficult to knock the awning pegs in. We bent several rock pegs - worst site we've been on for this problem. Oh, and it seems you don't get any grass on a hard standing pitch.

To sum up, yes it's a new site with nice facilities, but I thought the costs (£25 a night weekends, a little less for weekdays) were a bit excessive for the overall package.

We have just come back from spending the weekend here in our folding camper, and can't wait to go back.

I'll endorse all the positives listed. Simon and Sarah have really created a gem. It is just what Northamptonshire needs.

As for the road noise, in a folding camper you are quite susceptible to it, but it really didn't bother us.

Have just spent 3 nights at this site. This site is what has been missing from Northamptonshire. The toilet block is very clean and well thought out, well heated and with hot showers.

Shop is very good (not open Fridays)we enjoyed the bacon, eggs, cakes and apple pie. Also enjoyed a meal in the bistro on Sunday. Friday we walked into Bulwick and Saturday visited Burghley House, Stamford (you can visit grounds for free and still have access to toilets and cafe). Sunday we just enjoyed the Sunshine and the views. Red Kites overhead most of the day, plus enjoyed watching the calves. Dog walk is great. Some traffic noise but as light sleepers did not find it a problem.

Will be back

Brand new campsite only opened in March. Brilliant we'll heated wash rooms with showers better than most 5 star hotels. We'll laid out, clean with great serviced pitches.

The on site farm shop is amazing as is the bistro/coffee shop. It chucked it down on the BH Saturday so we took refuge there in front of a log stove, brilliant.

The meat comes from the farm lamb and beef and is excellent. Do try their sausages almost 100% meat and very tasty.

So no need to leave for any provisions, milk bread, cheese, fresh veg from local farms it's perfect.

So all these great points what's the downside? The A43 runs right past the site and this is a major feeder road for lorries coming from the A1 to connect Corby, Northampton and the M1 so no break from the noise ( all night long).

Despite that we will be back as we love the site and the surrounding villages and pubs.

Excellent and a bench mark for other sites to follow.

Have just returned from a very relaxing weekend spent at this lovely site. On arrival we were met by the very friendly owner who let us choose our own pitch and made us feel very welcome.

All pitches are 'Super Pitches', some grass some hardstanding with plenty of space inbetween. Wherever you pitch you are guaranteed a lovely view of the surrounding countryside.

The shower block/toilets are immaculate. The farm shop sells an extensive range of goodies and is open 8. 30-4. 30 at weekends so we were able to walk across the site (1 minute), purchase our breakfast items and return to our van to cook them. (The bacon and sausages were delicious).

There is an ample dog walking/exercise area at one end of the site.

This is the first 'Adults Only' site we have visited and offers everything needed for a totally relaxing break. It is a very informal site with very few 'rules'. The owners are not at all intrusive but do visit you to check everything's ok. We feel it is good value for money. We will definitely be back!

We chose this site as we love the surrounding area (fotheringhay, the nene valley, rutland). The website and reviews also indicated this was a good site to use. We were given a choice of pitch and admittedly, we chose one facing a field with a view but the toilet block was a long way away. I would imagine if it was busy and you got the last pitch at the end of the field, it is over 250 paces away. The owner was extremely helpful and polite and I do hope his new venture is a success. I would have liked their website to advertise when the shop and cafe was open as neither were when we visited (I had an expectation of a cooked breakfast on the last morning). Bulwick is a pleasant walk away to an absolute fab pub but beware, you have to cross the busy main road (if you have a small dog, as we do, I would suggest you pick them up when crossing). The road does produce noise and if you like absolute quiet, then this is not for you. Overall, I would like to see this site again when not quite so virgin and would encourage some planting of shrubs, trees and hedges as it does look at bit 'bare'. Also, if you stay at bank holiday times, it is expensive (£25) or £21. 50 ordinarily. I would consider £20 or less to be reasonable for the site as it is.

Chose this adult only site to meet up with friends and booked it for three nights. Recently renovated and I must say the owners have done a fantastic job: all pitches are fully serviced, well spaced out, excellent shower block and washing facilities. The dog walking area is the best we have had - large area for the dogs to run freely and play. The wardens were very friendly and helpful, even driving round the sight to check everyone was ok. A welcome pack was given out on arrival with plenty of information including walks - we found our own walk and did a 6. 5 mile round trip in Bulwick via Red Lodge Road and through rape seed fields which was marked with a pathway. Then back to the pub in the village - lovely food and friendly.
