Tregarton Park is a lovely, clean site with all the facilities one could need. The holiday was spoilt though with the incessant cutting of the grass and hedges. Every single day the machine could be heard and it became annoying. It wasn't the peaceful break we anticipated. This may have been a one off week and we were unlucky.
There is no where to go for a walk, which is a shame. Buses do stop outside the park, but the gent in the park shop informed us that they were hit and miss on the return journey back to Tregarton Park and the buses were only 8 seaters.
We went out in our motorhome in the end to Mevigissey - lovely fishing harbour and fabulous shops. Also Goran Haven is quiet lovely - Both worth a visit.

Tregarton Park is a great park as a central base for Cornwalls attractions. Shame that there is no where to walk from the park, would have been nice to take in the lovely surroundings on foot. However not a problem.
The showers/toilet block was always clean. The owners are very helpful and polite, always got a wave from the man cutting the grass and emptying the bins daily.
There are bins and water stations all in close proximity of the pitches.
The park is maintained really well, lots of wildlife, birds and rabbits mainly, the odd cow mooing in the adjoining fields, really nice to see and hear.
A great place to chill out and relax.
Will be visiting again.

We stayed for 13 nights from late July through to the begiing of August. Tregarton Park is rather out of the way and my Sat Nav directed us down the wrong road. Head to St Austell and follow the signs for Mevigissey and then take the turn signed for the Lost Gardens of Haligan.
On arriving the staff directed us to our pitch and then used their own vehicle to put our caravan on the pitch. They also levelled the caravan as the pitch was on a slope in both directions. The pitch was large with gravel. Despite this it was easy to hammer in the pegs for the awning.
The pitches are quite basic, ie several share an electric bollard (so best to have a long cable) and there are no drains or water on the pitches. Not really a problem but the daily fee is rather expensive for this lack of facilities (£27 per night). Site facilities are OK, but we were rather disappointed as they did not quite live up to the website. The pool is very shallow and rather cold.
As others have commented the opening hours of the shop and pool are very restricted. The pool and play ground shuts at 6pm and the shop at 7.30pm and is also closed for 2 hours mid afternoon. This proved to be very inconvenient - the owners could do with remembering they are supposed to be offering a service for the customers and not worrying about their own convenience.
The toilets are ok, but given how popular this site is for tenters they could really do with more toilets and showers. I also was not impressed with the total lack of temperature control for the showers.
I like a cool shower as I was badly burned a few years ago and hot water always irritates my scars. As I could not control the temperature in the showers and found it too hot, I had to resort to the caravans shower which magnified the inconvenience of not having water on the pitch.
I note they have posters advertising how they had won awards quite a few years ago, but nothing recently. Truth is I can see that 10 or 15 years ago this would have been a good site, but given their premium charges it need to be modernised. I would also prefer if they separated the tenters from the caravans as I prefer Caravan only sites.
On a more positive note this is a nice area. Mevigissey and Goran Haven are both lovely (St Austell is horrible). A few improvements and this site could be an award winner again. Shop should be open 7am to 10pm (with no mid afternoon break) and the pool and play ground should be open up to dusk.

The pitches are massive and well maintained with 10 amp hookups. The ablutions block is excellent with toilets, showers, laundry and pot wash, again well maintained and spotlessly clean.
There is a well stocked shop on site which I only needed for my morning paper as we used the Tesco in St. Austell, or the massive Asda, also in St. Austell.
The swimming pool is brilliant and as it is quite shallow, reasonably safe for kids (they have to be supervised at all times by an adult). There are sunloungers and picnic tables around the pool. There is a full size tennis court, but I didn't see anyone using this, though I would imagine it will be used during the school holidays.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and I really appreciate the help I was given in order to use my laptop via WiFi (£10 for week, which I thought was good value).
We visited some lovely places whilst in Cornwall including nearby Mevagissey, Gorran Haven, Fowey, Charlestown and Polperro and a bit further to Padstow, St. Ives, Penzance and Newquay.
All in all, a great holiday and well worth the 370 mile journey. Will be returning, possibly later this year.
PS. Use the directions from the sites webpage, not use satnav. My sister in law used satnav and it took them up the tiniest of narrow roads which was also on a very steep hill. The van was touching the undergrowth at both sides of the road. Luckily he didn't encounter oncoming traffic as it would have been virtually impossible for him to reverse the van around the sharp bends.

Just returned from Tregarton Park and what a great week we had. Site facilities very good and staff extremely helpful. Showers and toilets spotless. The pool was fantastic; we thought we were on the French Riveria!
The site is well placed for trips out. As the site has only 133 pitches it has a lovely tranquil feel. We will be back

We have just returned from yet another visit to Tregarton Park, and once more, had a fabulous holiday. The site is a pleasure to visit, the owners & staff so friendly and helpful, and the experience of Staying here leaves you totally relaxed.
We stayed in Spring Meadow, with my daughter & family alongside, pitches 131 & 132 and can recommend this site for those with children and those without.
The pool was really good, the grandchildren enjoying a daily swim. The shop is well stocked and the food from the takeaway is excellent value.
All in all, we cannot recommend this park too highly, if marked out of 10, it is definitely a 10!
We will be returning to Tregarton Park soon, but this time with a caravan, and are looking forward once more to receiving a great Cornish welcome.

Very very impressed with site and facilities, we thought the site was clean, well kept and most importantly peaceful. Staff were friendly and helpful, shop was reasonably priced and the on-site catering is well worth a try.
Swimming pool was nice and clean and very welcome given the superb weather we enjoyed. Site could do with some facilities for youngsters in the 12 to 16 age range perhaps a couple of arcade games and a pool table / table tennis table
Surrounding area is great for exploring, Mevagissey just down the road as is Gorran haven both nice places. Would highly recommend Lobbs farm shop (the Marks & Spencer of local produce) which is a couple of miles down the road. We have booked for next year, what better endorsement can I give the park!

Tregarton Park, a lovely clean, well presented site. Toilets and showers, especially the showers were fabulous, very well stocked shop with a take away service, the chips were delicious. The site owners were very friendly and chatty. Some of the motor homes were sited on stepped levels, plenty of room for awnings and have EHU.
The site also has WiFi. There's a bus stop outside the site, but the buses are a bit odd, they have the same number but they go to different locations every 2 hours.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan are 10 minutes up the road, and Mevigissey 20 mins. Unless you have a car or are prepared to go out in your motorhome every day, there is nothing outside the site, pub, shops etc:
The site has a swimming pool, tennis courts but really could do with a cafe or cafe/bar. The price for 10 days was more than reasonable including EHU. Would we go again - most definitely.

We have just returned home from the Tregarton Park the site was very well maintained and very clean including the shower/toilet blocks. Friendly helpful staff they even pitched an levelled the caravan for you. The only down side to the site was the swimming pool was closed as from 4th Sept and you need transport to go any where as the road can get busy and the are no paths. This site is well worth a try we will use it again.

This was the second visit to the site in 6 weeks but this time the weather was a little better but due to the excessive amout of rain we did get a little water logged the the second week was a lot better but unfortunately the swimming pool was closed so we could not take advantage of a nice cool dip but apart from that we had a good week. The site is well looked after and clean the showers are first class being quite tall I found that they were very good and did not have to stoop to get my head wet. The take away food was good from the shopon the couple of occasions that we could not be bothered because of the rain in the first week. I feel that we might well return to the site sometime in the future
