Just returned from this site, very good access to Hereford. A bit too close to the main A49 , with small children, I would ask for a quiet pitch, unless you like listening to traffic all night. Shower and toilet faclities ok. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Plenty of room for children run around and chickens, pony and donkey to keep them happy!Village chippy and shop less than a mile away , really handy.

We have just returned from Cuckoos Corner after having a two night stay, what a lovely place. The owner was very friendly, campsite and facilities was very clean, (and was kept clean through out the day). We will recommend this campsite to anyone, and will be returning in the future.

We have just returned from a bank holiday weekend at what we thought was a really good site. When we arrived, we started pitching and were approached by the owner who was very friendly and helpful, explaining where the facilities were and was very flexible about payment. We had to nip out to get cash! The facilities themselves were perfectly satisfactory, clean and working and we never had to queue for a loo, to my relief! There were 2 showers which were adequate, although if we were going to be picky, one of the brackets was broken which meant the shower head kept falling down and there was quite a lot of water on the floor from previous users (perhaps some drainage would solve this?) Our springer spaniel pup seemed perfectly at home and loved his couple of romps through the easily accessible and very close farmers fields. Our only downfall, and why we left early was the horrible weather. But thats not their fault (of course) - a note to add to this is that our entrance seemed to get quite soggy very quickly, but the soft ground made pegging out quick and easy. A really good site for a weekend or a trip with lots of planned activities, but if you want all singing and dancing entertainment, this ain't the place for you (but it doesn't profess to be a holiday park)!
Overall loved the place, located really well for Hereford and the Wye Valley. Right off the A49 so easy to find, but at the same time pretty quiet and rarely noticed the traffic noise.
Another thing if you're lucky you'll get a picnic table on your pitch which is useful for family dinner on FINE days.
All in all this site is excellent value and we fully intend to return in the future

We had a lovely long weekend here, we just used it as a base whilst we visited our family in Hereford, its great value, the facilities are basic but theres everything you need. We haven't got young children, just 2 very energetic Golden Retrievers who were very interested in all the small farm animals, but if we had kids they would have been in their element on this site as we noticed the owners went out of their way to entertain the children of all ages stopping here. Would definitely use it again.

Fantastic. 10 out of 10 for this site. We have been twice now and our only regret is not finding this site earlier as Wally and Jenny are fantastic hosts who unfortunatly for their customers have decided to retire in September. While the facilities need modernising Wally goes way beyond what is expected of a campsite owner and we didn't see our kids all weekend as he took all the kids feeding the animals, riding the horses, archery, feeding the chickens and so much more. They have chosen the new owners with keeping the current format and wally will be on hand to advise so will give this site a try again under the new management.

Wow what an amazing weekend! the children have never been so content,we hardly saw them all weekend as they were so busy helping wally or playing & exploring.we nearly called off because of the rain but we are so glad we didn't.the mud just added to the fun! wally and jenny are two of the nicest people you could meet and go out of their way to make sure that you are happy. The children got the chance to do so many different things and had the freedom to explore the farm in safety. we all can't wait to go back before wally and jenny hang up their boots and move on for a well deserved rest,we just wish we had discovered this site years ago! The facilities are basic but they are clean and work well and any problems are sorted out right away.there is a pool room which is always avalible and a tv room which again although basic does the job. They have a climbing frame & slide, pony rides, egg collecting, tractor rides.the list is endless! This is a holiday that will be rembered by both children and adults alike for a very long time.

This site is a revelation, the owners Wally and Jenny James are inspirational, now 70 Wally is up at 8.30 every morning followed by a gaggle of excited children as he lets them help feed and let the animals out on his small farm. Afterwards tractor rides, and then donkey, and pony rides to follow, all accompanied by banter and laughter. It is a total tonic for adults and children alike, the only shame is that Wally and Jenny will be leaving soon, and with them will undoubtedly go some of the pure magic that is Cuckoos Corner. Although it appears nothing from the road even the the most hardened heart would fail to leave without a large smile on the face, and a warm glow in the soul. We are returning this weekend just 3 weeks after our previous stay. Thank-you Wally and Jenny this site is a total credit to you and enjoyed immensely by all the children (and Adults) that visit it.

What can I say after having a bad start to our holiday in wales we rang wally who fit us in early and when we arrived the kids disappeared and the baby (1) loved the freedom. Although this site is basic in toilets and showers the friendly welcome and helpful people make it, wally and jenny are always on hand to make your stay better if they can, and the dust bin run in a morning the animals the kids loved it anything you need or want just ask and they will find a way of getting it. Nice area and village shop about a mile chippy and pub shut down but not needed really. Will definitely come back this was our second visit and some of the same faces were there nice to see, will not be the same when they sell but will try it out WE LOVE CUCKOOS

July 2005 We have just spent a super weekend at this site. Our children were kept entertained from 8.30am feeding the animals, driving the tractor and riding and grooming the donkeys. They also had a go at archery, collected eggs and picked beans. The owners, Wally and Jenny were incredibly friendly and you could even get a morning paper delivered straight to your tent by Jenny! All in all a great weekend, we hope to visit again soon.

August 2004 Wonderful place for children but I woudln't recommend for anyone wanting quiet. The main road is very noisy although I got used ot this after a couple of nights and it was worth it for the children to be so happy. Wally and Jenny are very welcoming and everyone on site is very friendly. Bikes available for small children. Snooker/pool, darts, bowls, archery lessons etc. Plus large field for ball games.
