We came to this site after reading previous reviews. It is a lovely site, clean and tidy, with a very friendly host. Although the showers are a bit tatty, they are to be replaced later this year. We would highly recommend this site for a peaceful holiday, the grass pitches are on very short cut grass, solid underneath, our heavy van sat comfortably on it in the rain. There is a good bus service to Hereford or Leominster, and the village is a short walk away.

This is a lovely site, quite near to the main A49 with road noise but not too loud.
We were on pitch no. 6 in the 2nd field and were surprised that it was a double pitch with a tent behind our caravan. I did not like this as I felt I was invading the space of the people in the tent, although they were very nice and said they didn't mind. You also need a very long hook up lead.
If visiting again I would request not to go on that pitch.
There is a lovely long walk for the dogs and it is quite central for visiting the area.
The owner was very helpful and came around to check everything was ok when we were settled.
I did not like the showers and toilets as I found it a bit creepy (personal opinion).
This site would benefit greatly from a modern new toilet block and the other facilities. If this was done it would be first class.

Very nice site. Peaceful -apart from traffic noises. The owner was very accommodating to our and our friends needs, until my little dog barked at him. I was asked to keep him quiet. How do I keep a dog from barking? Tie his mouth up? My dog is very well behaved, apart from a few woofs. I never leave him alone in the caravan. He informed me that people complain on the reviews, but I have not found one review complaining of noisy dogs. I understand that he wants a quiet site. Maybe he should not allow dogs on this site. I loved the site, but I'm sorry, I will not visit again. I will tell my friends that have not got dogs to visit as I think its a very good site.

Spent a fantastic 5 days on this site and will definitely be visiting again. Its position just outside Hereford is ideal for exploring the Marches and only minutes from the welsh borders
The site has large concrete standings with shingle standing for awnings. Your own water tap, EHU, TV point and free wifi.
Yes the showers and toilets are tired but are going to be upgraded shortly but they are kept spotlessly clean and the water is hot. There is the use of a fridge, microwave and wash up area. A reference area with information guides, books and dvd's to borrow.
In the village 1/2 mile away is the local shop/post office and an award winning chip shop Extremely large portions so watch what you order.
The owner is very helpful and goes out of his way to be of assistance

For us this is a perfect well maintained site. Very reasonable rates, we took advantage of the £85 per week special offer. That's just over £12 per day for a large pitch with hard standing, pea shingle area for awnings, water tap and TV point and WIFI. The owner doesn't charge for 'extras'. Awnings, dogs and showers are free. It's true that the showers are dated but were very clean. There is a notice that they are going to be replaced this year.
Lots to do in the area and a useful village stores and fish and chip shop within easy walking. (Warning. The portions are huge!) We will certainly recommend to our friends and pay another visit.

Interesting as just seen the most recent review of this site which is more realistic than some of the reviews we read before we booked it. We only spent one night there as we were visiting relatives on the way back up north. Not only is it an adults only site but they are strict about it - when we asked if family could visit for a couple of hours with a 12 year old we were told no.
The site is cheap, the pitches well maintained, very dog friendly and the guy who runs it is very friendly but the facilities are ancient - we always use on site facilities and my partner actually refused to use the showers. The noise from the road is constant but having said that it did appear that many people were staying several nights so maybe they not so bothered as others.
The dog walk is worth mentioning as it is fab. It is really handy for our relatives but we would not use it again until the facilities and esp the showers are overhauled

We've returned today from a 4-night stay, with mixed feelings about this site. I don't want to be too negative, as most points have already been covered by other reviews, but I just want to say that there seems to be more emphasis on the cleanliness and look of the grounds than the facilities. The facilities are very dated, and many shelves, doors, walls showed signs of years of lack of attention with a cloth or scrubbing brush, and cobwebs abound. Watch out if it's wet and you're wearing rubber soled shoes as there's no slip mat in the loo - I nearly came a cropper a couple of times! It was cold in the loos, too, as the windows were kept constantly open, and even though it was late May, the weather wasn't all that warm during our stay, and the small radiator wasn't switched on. Of the 2 (unisex) showers, the 'better-looking' one had restricted door opening, so someone of 'ample proportions' may find it a bit of a squeeze to get in and out.
On the positive side, the owner was pleasant, the site fees are very good given that they include electric, awning etc, most of the pitches are huge and flat, plus FREE Wi-Fi! All that can't be sniffed at! If you're looking for an adults only site near Hereford, use your own facilities, or aren't too bothered about how clean/modern a place is, or you don't need disabled access to a shower (the only showers I could see were up a couple of steep steps), then this is could be the site for you.

We have just returned from a 3-night stay at this site and feel it's worth pointing out the good and bad points in order to help others who may be thinking of staying here. Pros: it's tariff. £13 per night all-inclusive is extremely good value for money. It is an adult-only site, other campers being quiet. There were a few dogs in evidence but these were relatively quiet also. Pitches, for the most part are hardstanding with peashale for awnings. They are of a good size and there seems to be plenty of room between pitches. The site is well-kept and tidy with what can only be described as manicured lawns between and around pitches. No clippings being walked into vans here. The owner obviously takes a real pride in this. There are also plenty of signs around to indicate facilities which include emergency phone and firefighting equipment. There are recycling bins, also. There are plenty of useful leaflets and info in the facilities building along with a microwave oven. The site is pretty level. As the brochure notes, the site is easy to find from the road. And this brings me onto the cons.
Cons: the site is close to the A49 which is a busy and therefore noisy road. It is quieter at night but even during the evening there is a fair amount of traffic noise, in my opinion, a little too much to make you want to sit outside your van. One of the major cons, for me, at any rate, were the showers. Others have mentioned they are a little dated. They are. Some have mentioned them being spotlessly clean. They aren't. Although I found the shower cubicles themselves to be adequately clean, the dressing area floor was awash with water from previous users and this had, understandably, become somewhat muddy from footwear. Perhaps a bucket of soapy water and mop in each shower room together with a polite notice to clean up after yourself would solve this problem. We have come across this sensible precaution on other sites and found it to be very useful. Also, a couple more hooks for towels, etc. Would be helpful.
We were allocated pitch 6. I mention this as it falls under the cons section. For some reason, this is the only pitch not tucked snugly up by the fence line and meant that you were a/ a pea on a drum and b/ were much further away from the hook up and water. There was an area of grass behind this indicated as pitch 7. It had no designated vehicular access and appeared to be possibly for a tent, as there was a dedicated parking area across the access road opposite our pitch. On two of the three nights we were there, the grass area behind us was occupied from late evening on, by camper vans staying for one night before moving on. What's the problem, you may ask? Well, apart from the fact that the vans were very close to us, as mentioned, there is no proper access for vehicles so they ended up finding their own way over and around our pitch area. If we had put up an awning, they would have had an almost impossible job of getting round that side, and the other side required them to drive over our EHU cable. This was the case with one of the vans. The other skimmed past on the awning side. So our advice to anyone booking this site is to try to avoid pitch 6 if at all possible.
The surrounding area is very pleasant and has some beautiful countryside to be enjoyed. We dined at the Golden Cross Inn (mentioned in info available on site) and had a lovely meal at reasonable cost.

Just had 3 nights at Cuckoo’s corner. All the pitches have electric hook up and are flat, plus free Wi-Fi.
Nice small clean and tidy site. adults only. the owner is friendly and helpful. the toilets and showers could do with being updated, but they are free and for the price for a nights camping you can’t really complain.
Now the only downside to this site is the road noise from the main road into the site. it is constant 24 hours.

Spent a very pleasant week at Cuckoos Corner. Easy to find and easy to access from main road, always a plus when towing. A little road noise but not enough to worry us. All pitches had EHU. Although the facilities are a little dated were clean and the showers are free and hot. Nice walks around the site. Free wifi and added bonus and all for a very reasonable pitch fee. Plenty to do in the local area. Will certainly use this site again when in the area.
