A great site. This is our second visit this year and fifth visit overall. Fantastic facilities for the whole family. A good play area and swimming pool for the kids and a good bar with entertainment for the adults. Very handy on site shop which is reasonably priced. Superb location with a lovely cliff top walk down to Watergate Bay. I feel this is quite an expensive site but it is comparable to all others in the locality and has better facilities so works out to be the best option. We will certainly be back.

We've just got back from 2 weeks here. The kids really enjoyed it and made use of the play park and little smugglers club. The pool is brilliant, never saw it overcrowded even on wet days. Plenty of toilets and shower and they were kept nice and clean. The Staff are lovely and friendly. The Shop was well stocked and reasonably priced. There are 2 good sized fields to let the dog off in. The best part of stopping here is the free mini bus to the beach. The site was nice and quiet from about 10. 30 onwards. Wouldn't like to stop in the outer park though as you are too far away from everything.

Just come back from a week here and the site is excellent! Good size, level pitch. Clean toilets, friendly staff, lovely swimming pool, which is unsupervised and lots of children in there but wasn't a problem for us, it has been updated and is clean. The mini bus to the beach is brilliant! We could even take the dog on the bus! It is a windy site but you are up on a cliff with distant sea views! Didn't use the club or the café so can't comment. Our children are 12 and 15 and they really enjoyed their time there.

Playparks were great for our 4 kids. Too much swearing around the skate park though. Swimming pool was nice and warm, however the poolside could do with a deepclean as it is filthy.

Shop was well stocked and fair value. Shop assistants were very helpful too.

The on site cafe looks nice with fair prices, but shame the food didn't follow suit. It was awful, never expected ala carte, but it was still less than average.

Cribbar bar is lovely, didn't get to spend much time in there owing to being laid up sick for 4 days. Good range of drinks and not too expensive.

Showers were never more than luke warm, on and off peak but were always kept clean.

Dog walk areas were well kept, shame some owners didn't clean up after there pets. This will only drive the price up for dogs. No excuses, you can buy 300 value nappy bags for £1. Shame on you!

Can't beat the location and proximity to the beach and you're far enough out of town but close enough too. Morrisons is pretty close as is Lidl too.

Generally the park is very nice with very polite staff. We will be going back next year for sure.

Just got back from 5 nights here. Cannot fault anything about this place. Other reviews about showers etc played on my mind, but I have to say we had no issues at all. The staff are friendly and cannot do enough to help. The free minibus to Watergate Bay is a massive bonus, and the place itself is idyllic. Yes it is close to the airport but the planes are infrequent and do not disturb you as they are only daytime hours. Pitches are very well spaced with attention to privacy and there is a lovely community atmosphere. All play areas and amenities are close by, making it safe for kids to have their freedom whilst still being safe. The food in the cafe is reasonably priced and some of the best we had whilst we were in Newquay. We want to return in 3 weeks, but may have to settle for a non electric pitch, which is a sacrifice worth making to be back in Watergate Bay. Please DO NOT let any negative reviews put you off, I am so glad we didn't.

This is the second time I have stayed here and I really enjoy it, I stayed on a standard pitch, which is very spacious, we had a 4 man tent and large car, with still lots of space.

I love Watergate Bay, the beach is big and great for boadyboading/ surfing.

The walk down, if you walk down the road is very steep, especially on the way up and I would say we are a young, fit couple and I struggled, so found the coastal walk a lot easier though a little bit longer but the views are nice.

The staff are friendly and helpful, shop full of bits for camping and not expensive either.

The Bar is really nicely done and the food is good and good prices.

I stayed for the Boardmasters and there is a bus stop right outside that takes you to Newquay.

As this is the only place I have camped, so I cant compare but the showers are clean, busy in peak times but if you get there early evening, nice and hot.

Definitely converted to camping and I am looking forward to returning next year.

We took our Grandsons aged 7 and 9 in our trailer tent, the main park was fully booked so we were on the outer park, the outer park was quiet with a lot of space to pitch the tent with good views over the road of the beach which was a short walk away,

When booking I enquired about the shower and toilet block to see if they were as good as the main facilities, the lady said the same company cleaned them, we were not very impressed with them as they were dirty and looking tired, not the same condition as the main block, they never seemed to be cleaned from one day to the next cobwebs in the windows that were there all week, my husband had to wait for a shower because people were cleaning their wet suits and surf boards,

The shop was ok and the staff were very friendly stocked quite a lot of things, the café served good food and again the staff were friendly, the only thing was they wasn't opened long enough, the club was clean and tidy and things going on for the children but seemed to be a lot of kids without parents,

The swimming pool was good the Grandchildren enjoyed it, so was the skate park and pirate ship the only thing was it was a bit out the way from the outer park for the Grandchildren so we took the car for them,

Although we went home early nice site just the outer park facilities.

Spent 3 days here with my partner and two kids 9 and 11yo and our dog in a mazda bongo with awning.

Stayed here during boardmasters (never heard of it before).

Site looks very nice and clean, looks can be deceiving.

We stayed on field G with no electric hook up for £37 per night which I find very expensive but probably due to the pool, restaurant and bar etc none of which we wanted or used, this site was one of a few not fully booked.

The tent across from us had paraphernalia lying all around their pitch from the night before which lay for 2 days before they returned and cleaned it up, I don't mind the partying or the music etc but that's just minging and they should not have been allowed to do it, trouble is no one but the grass cutter or the bloke supposedly emptying bins travels that far away from the main reception.

This site reminds me of a Haven site without the half arsed teenagers in bear suits.

Sea views? Never once in 3 days did I see the sea from that site, perhaps that's only from the parts I saw - just field G, the toilet block, main reception and other fields you pass through en route to any of those places.

There is a big decent field for walking the dog although dog owners need to pick up more, I did see the black bag provided for owners collapsed on the ground covered in dog bags on the day I was leaving.

The showers were lukewarm mostly, feeling like they needed a deep clean and some partitions were leaving the wall. My daughter was disgusted with the dirt and cobwebs around windows - nice double glazed units - simply needing a real clean. Great to see the usual tiny hook on the back of the door (what are you expected to do with these?) although there is a (usually wet and dirty) wooden plank to try to balance your gear on.

There were too many kids in and around the toilets, I actually saw crap on the toilet roll holder and an empty can in another toilet among other things that I'm afraid I have to blame on kids. In my opinion they should not be allowed in toilets alone. I stayed on a site which charged 20p per shower and kids were banned from using the block alone, it was beautiful and cleaned regularly, I would much prefer this.

I think the minibus to the beach is a great idea though I never used it.

We went to the restaurant for carry out food and were asked by the stressed looking till girl if we could come back in 40 minutes which was better than being left to wait for 40 mins. When we returned we waited a further 25. At least the food was decent.

Field G was pretty empty so who knows how long you might have to wait if the site was full.

On the one visit I had to the bar/restaurant it felt so much like Haven with out of control kids running around and couldn't care less parents occasionally screaming out kids names. I just wanted out.

I wouldn't go back to this site unless I had no other choice, it is too big for its boots, there doesn't seem to be any control. The site runs kind of ok but if you have a complaint there doesn't seem to be anyone to make a complaint to besides a few teenagers in site uniforms. Its a bit louder than other sites with some folks playing loud music, which I'm all in favour of. I don't like sites which close at 11 pm - people are on holiday!

This site isn't the worst it just needs taken by the scruff and given a good shake. It maybe needs a warden especially around the toilets keeping some kind of order with regards to the kids and cleaning etc.

Anyhoo we won't be back.

Just got back from a 3 week holiday at Watergate bay, fantastic site. Staff polite and helpful nothing is to much trouble and felt very much it was a family business. Pitch size is as states 9m x 9m, shower facilities always clean, stocked up would advice not to shower between 5-7pm as they can get quite busy and the water Luke warm. Shop always stocked well even fresh pastries in the morning. The new look to the bar area is wonderful very impressed Well Done! Thankyou Watergate Bay for a wonderful holiday.

Just got back from 2 weeks at this site. 2 adults, 2 kids and the dog! It's a great site. Been many times before and can't fault it, especially for what you pay. Prices are per person and you can have whatever equipment you wish on your pitch such as a gazebo as well as your unit at no extra cost.

Flat, good sized, well spaced pitches. Toilets and showers always clean as well as dishwashing area and launderette. Very child friendly - good play area for the kids as well as the covered swimming pool, skate park and games room.

Tennis courts also available. Staff are excellent - family owned and family run. Cafe, bar and mini market all available and average priced. Free wifi in the bar/cafe (plug your laptop in for 50p). Free minibus service to the beach runs regular all day.

Great location for sightseeing North Cornwall and it's beautiful beaches. I would recommend this site - something for everyone! If you don't mind the banter choose a central pitch, otherwise Field G is nice and quiet with a sea view!
