Lovley site we had a xl pitch with electric hook-up and it was large enough for our tent gazebo & car.Water points & recycling points were close by. The staff were all very friendly & helpful. Toilet blocks were very clean, and all of the facilities were as stated in the brochure. We had a great time, the children age 12 & 8 both enjoyed there stay , and as adults we felt the site was a safe enviroment for the children to play. Even though there were a lot of young adults on site we didnt get disturbed by loud music etc, everyone seemed to respect the privicy of others. The beach & town centre were only a short car ride away, the beach can be reached on foot but there are no footpaths at the side of the road so we felt it was safer by car. While we were at watergate bay we visited paradise park & flambards we spent a day at each park and had a fantastic time, both attractions are well worth the admission fee.The Boys also went fishing on a boat from Newquay harbour for 1 hour & Dad went for 1/2 a day on his own, both times returning with their catch for tea !

We stayed here for the proximity to Newquay airport, we flew to the Scilly Isles for the day and from here we could leave the van and walk the short distance, (20min) to airport. It's only a small airport, so it's not too noisy!
The site is flat, quite big, served by two toilet/shower blocks. The one we used was clean, warm and modern, a plate wash area and chemical desposable point. A shop, a laundry and a club house were also on site. A children's play area with a play galleon, looked good. The site was a bit noisy for us, discos and the like, but we do like peace and quiet.
The beach,(with plenty of parking) was about a mile away. We walked, it took about 20min.There were no pavements, quite hairy at times, I wouldn't do it with a family. The road was quite steep,a bit of a haul back. The beach was good, mostly used by surfers, a compertition taking place whilst we were there. In my mind, not good for young familys.
Basically, horses for courses, if you like plenty going on, this is a good site.

I've stayed at Watergate Bay Touring Park twice, once in June 07, and again in August 07.
Fantastic site. Huge pitches I was able to get a large car, 3 man tent with utility area, + a large utility tent on the pitch, with ample room for another large tent.
The toilets / showers were very clean, and plenty of them. I only had to wait for a shower cubical once for about 3mins and that was during the busiest time of the year.
The onsite facilities are great. Decent pub, nice cafe which do a great english breakfast. The shop is fantastic and has everything you will need, including some of those things you forgot to bring along with you (regular trips were made).
My only complaint is from the end of field G it is somewhat of a walk to the toilet / shower block, but I did book very last minute.
Booked in again for June 08 this time in a static caravan and very much looking forward to the great service we have had so far.

We went on the recommedation of friends and were not dissapointed. No need to walk down the road to get to the beach take the footpath, bit of a walk but really worth it! Good facilities including shop, pool, and bar area which we did not use. Has one Victor Meldrew moment when youths turned up opposite us for them to gratuitously play an accoutstic guitar really well and stopped at a reasonable hour- what a cheek!
Will definitely wish to return to go to surf school when the youngest can swim more than a width.

My nan and Grandad lived one Watergate Bay Holiday Park for 10 years, but due to unforseen circumstances, they moved back up to Bham. Throughout the 10 years, me and my family who go up and visit them for 6 weeks at a time.
The whole of the camp site is just fantastic. All facilities are on site including showers, toilets, static caravans, shop, evening entertainment ~(disco, bingo and singers). My nan and grandad were very good friends with the owners of the camp site (Gwen and Brian) and they are really very nice people. I really do recommed watergate bay to anyone!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights in August, arriving on Bank Holiday Monday, and leaving the following weekend. Can say, without hesitation, that I shall be returning sooner rather than later. Upon arrival, staff at reception were friendly and helpful. The pitch that had been reserved for us was plenty big enough for our tent, the car and a section for us to put the table and chairs outside, (and when you consider that our tent is approx 9m x 9m you can imagine the size of the pitch). Although the site was busy on arrival, the general feel was very relaxed. Children are encouraged to use the playing field, swings, slide, etc, so the noise is kept away from the main camping area. The swimming pool on site is free and, with sun loungers placed all around it, is an ideal place to relax. There is a small bar which provides the usual alcoholic refreshments along with live entertainments on certain nights, and also a shop on site that sells a wide range of goods. The shower block is kept clean, and showers are free. In the early and late parts of the year, the blocks are heated, and they also have local radio piped throughout the blocks. The site is situated on the cliff top of Watergate Bay, and the bay itself is stunning. There are a few restaurants down in the bay itself, Phoenix being the one that I would highly recommend. They provide a friendly atmosphere, along with excellent cuisine. They also have a take-away which does pizzas, burgers, etc. The bay can be reached via the cliff path, or by road. If, however, you walk down, be prepared for quite a tiring walk back up. It only takes approx 15/20 mins, but is very steep in places. In Newquay itself, there is plenty to do from shopping to museums to surfing. As Newquay is famed for it's surfing, you will find numerous schools and shops that will accommodate should you wish to have a go yourself. Boards and Wetsuits can all be hired from most places at very reasonable prices. Due to it's location, we found this site to be a perfect base from which to explore Cornwall. The staff on site will be happy to give you information about near-by attractions and there are leaflets available to back this up. There is however, one negative point that should be noted. Due to the close proximity of Newquay airport, some noise will be experienced from planes. These, however, do not fly through the night. They start from about 7:00 a.M. And the last one comes in about 8:30 p.M. Overall we found this site ideal for what we wanted and, as I said earlier, we cannot wait to return again.

Arrived here and was welcomed by very friendly staff, site is well looked after and very clean, with security on hand 24/7 checking round site. Toilet and showers a bit small for the site size, but were cleaned regularly, its a very friendly orientated site and people we met seem to return regularly. Nice little club with varying entertainment from discos, kids face painting ETC, and all free. First day was when great grandkids went in the pool, after that the weather turned, nothing but rain for 5 days, but staff on hand with tractors for motor-homes or caravans with any problems on grass pitches (no charge), so left early. Would definitely go again and hope for better weather. Just a point to add, after a pitch is vacated it is brushed and swept with a big vacume cleaner on a tractor, when I asked the driver why this was, he said it removed all foreign bodies or litter left here and would be clean for the new occupant's ,GREAT LITTLE SERVICE.

When we arrived we were immediately impressed, site appeared clean and well kept. Staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We had a standard pitch which was more than big enough for a people carrier, Vango Diablo 6 berth tent and room for the kids to run around in. We liked the way the site is laid out with plenty of green space for the kids to play on as well as a huge playing field. We went in June so the site was not particularly busy and pool was empty most days which we loved. Toilets and shower blocks were very clean. Virtually everyone we spoke to either keeps their caravan in storage on the site or return there year after year. We will definitely be making a return visit.

We visited this site In July / August 2007. The site was very busy and the pitched were of a fair size. They are very close together and you don't have much personal space. We had a camper and a khyam motordome awning and just managed to fit into a basic pitch. (The electric hookup pitches do look bigger) There are only 2 toilet blocks for the whole site and you had to wait in line for the toilet / showers and sinks. That was a bit of a pain in the bum with a restless toddler. There are only 5 toilets per block too. They do have a family room, but they key was never available so I can't tell you what that was like. Also, we heard lots of people complaining that there was no hot water before 8 and after 6. Having said that, we never had a problem. The on site shop was well stocked and did the best morning croissants ever! (but get there as it opens or you'll have to wait in line!) The on site club was brilliant. Very family friendly and safe. Friendly staff and decent prices. The cafe was good too. We can recommend the pizzas! Lots of kids and teenagers so if you want a quiet holiday, this is not the place. But brilliant if you o have children as the playground and skate park are fantastic places for them to go. The beach is a 20 min walk down the hill (not recommended for small children as the road is narrow and the cars bomb down there). Beach parking is a small mortgage (£7 a day) but the site does do a free bus service in peak season to ferry you down there. Porth beach is close by and is brilliant for children as a freshwater stream runs into the sea and small children (like mine who are frightened by the sea) can spend all day pottering about there. Reception staff were brilliant, really chatty and couldn't do enough for you. We'd go back again.
