Great location in the middle of a forest - a deer walked past as we were setting up our tent in the afternoon, and we saw another crossing the road as we returned from an evening meal out. When we went (October) there was lots of space and the trees looked great.
We were able to pitch looking into a clearing in the forest.
Facilities not great, but are clean. You have to watch out for the coin in the slot showers running out of time, or (in my case) starting up the wrong shower by mistake. The freezer for freezer blocks was out of action on our visit.
I probably ought to mention the barking of the nearby dogs which could be a problem.
Interesting fact: this is the location of the best attested UFO sighting, recorded in detail by the USAF. Spoiler alert: it was probably a lighthouse.
Would I go back again? Yes, certainly.

Stayed at this site for a weekend with a small group of families who have camped and been friends since school.
Pitches are nicely spaced, so you don't feel on top of each other. You have to pitch between bricks in in the ground. We don't have a huge tent, but did our best to do so - we ended up at an angle.
The facilities are OK. Glorified portacabin for the toilets, which were actually kept quite clean. The showers are 50p for 5 minutes. This is something which irritates my husband something chronic - he feels it's something which should be on tap. The showers were hot and mostly clean although my friend did mop out all of them at one point as it had got in a bit of a state unfortunately.
The site was quite lively in its forest location, but not rowdy. Kids were freely doing their thing and it was friendly. You are a fair distance away from things, which is quite nice. Woodbridge had plenty of amenities and we had a day out on the beach at Felixstowe, which was unexpectedly pleasant. We grabbed some supplies from Tesco in Martlesham on the way back to camp. Only ice creams were purchased from the shop, which were essential as it was so hot!
Overall a good stay, I'd go back with friends but not on our own.

A wonderful well run site in beautiful surroundings near Woodbridge for the sailing and the oysters at the smoke houses at Orford. For quiet wander and cycling in the forest immediately from the campsite so much to do went to Bentwaters Cold War museum and the museum at Near Orfordness about radar, dogs allowed on a lead at the site we are a family of four and have been to the site three times, a shop on site for your essentials. Loos and showers cleaned regularly when we were there. Bricks available for disposable BBQ, plots well marked camp between the four brick markers. A well run site

Great site, very busy when we visited but still ok. No playground in camping area but loads to do in the adjoining park, playgrounds, bike rides, walks and open spaces galore. All in all a great experience, the only thing we did not like was having to pay for a shower (50p a go), come on guys we have already paid a pitch fee! That aside we like this site and will definitely be returning here in the future.

This was our first camping trip as a family with a 3year old and a 1 year old. We loved this campsite. It is small enough to be able to let the children run around outside but still has a lovely family atmosphere. The forest is brilliant and the bike trails are great for young children who have just learnt to ride their bikes. The facilities were clean and the shop was great to get your essentials. We spent our second week on a much bigger campsite but much preferred Tangham campsite and we will definitely be returning in the future. The only reason I haven't' given this campsite 10/10 was because of the smell coming from the drains which was very strong at times.

A Lovely Site. We Got here on a Sunday and it was Pouring down, But site drains very well. Was shown where our pitch was. We pitched the tent in the pouring rain. Once up and sorted the sun came out. A lovely site. And Great access to Rendelsham forest for the play parks there and If you like biking its great for that to. The park on site is very limited and maybe could do with something else to entertain the little ones. Overall though a Great Site and we will be returning. Only other thing that we found was that a warden would of helped on site at night. One evening we had someone to our left playing music very loud, so I asked them to turn down which was done. Then the other side a bit later was very loud in playing there games. Again a quick ' can you keep the noise down' and all was ok. But I feel the warden should be doing this. So maybe they just need to enforce the rules that they have down for the site.

Our first camping trip with our 4 year old son. This is a lovely open campsite with plenty of space to play and the children's park and woods were well used.
We pitched under the trees which provided welcome shade on a very hot weekend, however did make it more difficult to dry the tent out in the morning. This wouldn't have been such a problem had we not had an enormous thunder storm both nights.
The toilet block is adequate, as are the showers, which are operated by a 50p slot machine located outside each cubicle. The shower cubicles aren't very large so showering a small child was challenging, but possible. However there was a plentiful and welcome supply of hot water, the major downside is that when your 50p runs out you have to open the door to put another coin in.
I thought it was a lovely site, but my husband isn't keen to return, feeling our stay was spoilt by the noisy inconsiderate neighbours, and other campers feeling it was OK to let their dogs roam free on site.

We (family with boys agreed 4 and 9) have just returned from 4 nights at Tangham during half term. The site was busy but the pitches are spacious and not too close together, it was relaxing and peaceful.
Pitches are laid out around a circular gravel track, with one row of outer pitches and 2 rows of inner pitches. In the centre of the field is a large area for children to play in without disturbing any of the pitches. Yes, there are indentations as mentioned in a previous review but nothing too problematic.
The play equipment is simple but nice and there are wooded areas around the edge of the site for den building, with a bit of imagination and a sense of adventure no child will be stuck for fun!
The toilets and showers were clean and well maintained and there is a good sized pot washing area.
The staff on site were very friendly and helpful. The shop is well stocked and sensibly priced and there is information area with freezers for ice packs and a book exchange.
While we were there there was a prolonged and torrential downpour, it rained continuously for over 24 hours, and other than a couple of small puddles on the gravel track, the pitches were incredibly dry. I was very impressed with how they held up in such awful weather.
The local area has some lovely walks and bike rides and geocachers are well catered for. There is a nice swimming pool in Woodbridge. The play areas a short walk away in the forest are great for all ages.
Would we go back? Definitely!

This site is ideal if you have lively older children who like going around the site on their bikes! If you like peace and quiet then this site isn't for you. It is in beautiful surroundings but the facilities are not very good quality, the toilets and showers were clean but awkward to use as they are very small and lack hooks and shelves and all those things that make life easier when camping. The field in the centre of the site is full of holes. I judge a site partly on what it would be like in bad weather and this site would not be good. However it is cheap and if you don't mind roughing it slightly then it has a lot to offer and the other campers were very friendly. In no way is it glamping though!

My wife and I arrived at the site at about 1230 on a Tuesday after a bank holiday Monday. We checked in at reception first and was shown to our pitch. This was in a separate field away from the caravans and motor homes with their awnings and separate tents.
There were only two other campers in the field when we arrived so we had loads of space to erect our tent and park the car. During the two nights that we were there, there was only ever a maximum of five tents in this field, so, for the time of year of our stay, it was very quiet. Only the noise from the caravan/ motor home site could be heard, and this stopped at 2200 anyway.
We didn't use the on-site shop, but it looked fairly well stocked. There is a separate shower block and toilet block. The toilets were cleaned regularly. I used them at about 2am and they were still clean from the night before's use. The shower block, likewise was clean and, although the signs say that you get five minutes for your 50p, it's more like ten minutes. Not sure if this is standard on other camp-sites, but there were a couple of chest freezers for ice blocks that were free to use. The laundry room had two washing machines and two dryers, although we didn't use these.
The site is situated in the middle of Rendlesham Forest, quite far from the nearest town. This was really good for us as we do like a bit of astronomy and being reasonably distant from the outside world, there was very little light pollution. There are a few walks around the forest, one of which is the UFO trail, relating to the alleged UFO landing from 1980. There was an extensive play area in the forest which, obviously we didn't use, being a bit too old.
Within ten minutes drive is Sutton Hoo. Very interesting. 30 minutes away is the lovely beach at Sizewell. Despite the nuclear power station nothing glows there, there's no mutated wildlife and the beach is clean. If swimming in the shadow of a nuclear power station isn't your thing, 20 minutes up the coast is Dunwich beach, which is also clean and doesn't have any mutated wildlife either.
All in all, a well situated camp-site that was good value for money.
