We went for the weekend. It was lovely, we all enjoyed it, adults and children alike. I felt the only thing that let it down were the toilets and showers. They could have been cleaner. But that did not mar our weekend and we will definately be returning.

A fantastic site nestled in Rendlesham Forest lets you get away from all the hustle and bustle of hectic everyday life and enjoy the peace and quiet this site has to offer.
Set in Forestry Commission land, there are many waymarked footpaths and cycle routes to follow, along with a cycle hire centre and adventure playground right next to the campsite.
Within a short distance lies the small town of Woodbridge with a supermarket, swimming pool and cinema for rainy days! In the other direction lies several small coastal towns and villages such as Orford, Aldeburgh, Dunwich and Southwold - all perfect for a day out by the sea.
The site itself comprises one large main area, most with hook-ups for tents and caravans all on grass pitches. (There is also an overspill area for tents only without electric. This is a lovely place to camp if you like to feel remote, but with the convenience of the facilities on the main field).
Facilities include hot (token) showers; which are kept clean, a covered washing-up area, a freezer service and a fairly well stocked small shop. Newspapers are delivered fairly early in the morning from a man in the back of a car travelling around the site with his car horn letting you know he’s there!
Despite being a clearing in a forest, barbecues are allowed, as long as you don’t let them turn into campfires! The resident wardens will tell you if your barbecue gets to campfire proportions – I’ve been told!
If you have children, you’ll feel secure that they can wonder about, make friends and play games in safety, and if you’re on the right pitch, all within your sight. As well as the adventure playground in the forest next to the site, there is also a playground on site.
A site my family and I visit regularly for weekends as its only thirty minutes from home, but once you’re there, you could be anywhere...a truly great place to camp.

Just come back from a weekend at Tangham camp site. It was our first visit and would definately be going back. Lots to do with the children, the play area and lots of walks and the Forest Centre next door was well equipped to keep children occupied.
The facilities were kept clean and the little shop seemed quite well stocked. We will probably just use this as a weekend retreat as we only live 1hr away.
A little downside was that it was fully booked up (so advance booking is essential) this made the site quite noisy.

If you like camping in the woods this is a great site. It's about half a mile from a road so it's really quiet. There is a childrens play area.
Cycle hire is just next door. The forest offers miles of tracks for walking and cycling.
A short walk away is the pub, the Butley Oyster. The garden is great for kids and pet lovers as there are a variety of pets to see.
The suffolk coast is a short ride away, visit Aldeburgh.

This is one wonderful site, particularly for the lightweight camper. It is situated in acres of Rendlesham Forest and is owned by the Forestry Commission. Tilley, the warden is a wonderful person who has brought a low-key site up to superb expectations, following the tragic death of her husband. I regularly visit as an assessor for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and find the welcome and the facilities second to none! When the main site is full - there is an 'overflow' facility which has NO facilities other than the natural surround of nature! I recommend it unreservedly.

This is a pleasant, well organised forest site located next to Rendlesham Forest Centre which has trails and play areas - useful for those with early rising children! However our sleep was disturbed by the constant drum beat of music from an all night rave - where this was we're not sure but it was a little surprising considering we were in the middle of a forest.
It was really busy when we were there and it is essential to book for Bank Holiday weekends and school holidays.

Have been here a few times. This campsite is great if, like us, you enjoy getting away from it all. Nice and quiet, great location. Good cycle route to keep you amused, or take a walk in the forest. Childrens play area.
Showers and toilets clean.
Would recommend to anyone who wishes a few days away from the phone ringing and the hustle bustle of everyday life.

This is a very popular site with us. The ground is quite sandy, which makes it very well draining when the weather is wet.
The showers etc are very clean and the staff are more than helpfull.
The campsite is set in the middle of a large pine forest so take your walking boots or bikes.
The surounding villages have much charm, Orford, with its castle is worth a visit.
A very nice site for a peacefull break, but watch out for the rabit holes...!

We stayed here for a few nights during the week and found it a very nice quiet campsite as long as you were not to near the childrens play area. The toilets and showers were kept clean but be prepared to wait as they were often busy. In the evening we often took walks in the surrounding Rendulesham forest which also provided a brilliant play area for the children(insect repelent is a must for eveining excursions). It is in driving distance of Woodbridge, a nice little shopping town but which also has it's own marina ideal for relaxing walks.
