A quiet little camp site based in the field at the rear of the pub. Stunning views and very quiet if you don't want too much noise.
A lovely couple run the pub. Brand new toilet and shower block on site and was very clean.
Perfect for a quiet weekend break or somewhere to base yourself for walking or days out to surrounding areas.
There aren't any amenities such as a shop etc nearby and the pub doesn't serve food but there is a pub a 5 minute drive away that does so we didn't feel like we had to fend for ourselves completely.
Will definitely visit again.

I have used this site several times. It is a small privately owned site with recently updated facilities.
The location is in the heart of the peak district with great access to some breath taking scenery.
The landlord and his wife are always friendly and welcoming.
The Pub itself is a genuine traditional hostelry a real gem.

Extremely quiet, especially as it was bank holiday, which was a bonus!
Fabulous views, warm welcome and a lovely little toilet/shower block so couldn't want more.
Great walk from the site down to the Ship inn for food, and a good 8 mile walk in the hills.
Dog loved his swim in the river!

Newly renovated toilet and shower facilities - very good.
Ideal site for tents, great location for walkers.
Good for us as we were doing the gritstone trail and it was half way.
Shame that you can’t get a meal at the pub, but there are others in walking distance.

The campsite is in a good location next to a pub.
The shower and toilet block was really good.
Didn’t go into pub as not open on night we were there but looks good with with live music.

Great little campsite and only a mile or so of the Gritstone Trail that I was walking. Yes it is basic but when you are after a pitch for the night it is perfect. They have a brand new toilet block with hot water.
The only thing that might put you of is that the pub doesn’t do food anymore, but for me that wasn’t an issue as I was carrying my own. Having said that the pub it self is warm and the landlord welcoming.
If you are just looking a place to pitch for the night then it is idea. If you are looking for a place to camp while walking the Gritstone Trail it is perfect as it is literally at the halfway point and easy to find when coming off the trail.
