I agree with the majority of comments reference the views and staff. It is set in a very idyllic place. I felt so sorry for the cleaning staff.
I believe complaints had been made to the level of cleanliness in the toilet blocks. A serious look at the designers refurbishment is probably a positive step. There are no drainage points that would enable the floors to be washed and drained adequately.
I probably picked the wrong time to go ( half term) It was so depressing to witness such low standards of human hygiene, I really felt for the cleaners.
After the first day I felt it wiser to use the toilets off camp.
Maximum Mark's for the site location and staff, need to use signage more explaining peoples responsibilities to each other.

This review comes from myself camping in a tent with 2 other adults & 2 little boys (ages 6 & 8) but also my parents in the caravan, my auntie & uncle in their caravan, my uncle & his partner in their caravan, another uncle & Aunt with their 2 teenagers as well as my brother in a tent with his 2 year old daughter & his 2 friends.
We absolutely love this site, it's definitely one of a kind! We've been coming here for at least 8 maybe even 9 years! Before this site was available, we always used Skirlington! We never had a complaint about it until the price started going up! We'd been going there since I was a child & I'm now in my 30's!
My parents have their caravan on site most of the year so there's always someone there every weekend or holidays from school. My parents stay there the whole 6 weeks holidays & everybody else just turns up when there ready to join in on the fun!
There's not a lot on the site it's self however, with the site being partnered up with Skirlington. There's always something to do. If we're not on this site, climbing up & down the cliff to get to the beach or playing ball games on the massive field, were up at Skirlington enjoying the facilities & tthe weekly market!
The toilet/shower block is as you would expect, they also have a disabled toilet/shower to which you need to have your own disabled toilet key. In the ladies there are 4 toilets & 3 showers with 4 sinks - all having quite large mirrors above. There is also several plug sockets around so to be fair you could get ready in there using the plug socket for your straighteners. Also a very good thing I've found is that I've never had to queue for either the toilets nor the showers.
The site itself is very quiet, sometimes there's the odd group making a little noise but it's nothing to write home about. We've also found if we have had any complaints, the guys in the office alway listen & do something about it. I've seen them ask groups to leave because they were just too loud!
I personally would give this site a 10 out of 10 like I say there isn't a lot on this site but everything you'd want is just a few miles up the road at Skirlington, off my head I remember the Markets & Car Boots, the, Swimming Baths, Arcades, The Local Shop, the Pub on site has entertainment on most nights & I'm sure there's a kids part inside the pub too! There's also a restaurant next door to the pub which offers a wide range of food - including a kids memu. Oh and the Fish Shop is beautiful!
Or if you go left out of the site you arrive in hornsea where there is everything you could wish for. Beach, Swimming Baths, Co-op, Tescos with a petrol station, Arcades, Parks, lots of shops offering a wide range of stuff to fit all you shopping needs! There is a few chip shops which as all very nice too!
So we the Coates family would just want to thank the whole staff from the very bottom of our hearts, for a fun packed holiday spot. It's definitely a place we'll be coming too for lots of years to come!
Thanks for having us!

Just returned from a stay at Cliff Top Caravan Park, and I would recommend it to anyone. Close to Bridlington and Scarborough plus many more amenities. It's a nice little place for sightseeing.
The showers are very good although in the Female toilets there are no hooks on the doors to hang your stuff (the only one that does hasn't got a lock on it hehe). Close to the sister sight where the facilities are free which is good.
All in all I couldn't fault this place, great for people who just like the outdoors.

On arrival it was a not so warm welcome. Not everything was explained to us and when we asked questions the answers were quite abrupt.
The park was very clean and although there were a few large groups (which doesn't bother us anyway) there was no high noise levels on a night. It seemed that the electric hook up was there whether you wanted it or not, meaning it wasn't an added extra, it was thrown in with the price. We found out why the first night as one of our neighbours must have put the kettle on and off the power went. Seemed to have a lot of sockets on one trip as it knocked a lot of power off.
We were placed quite a distance from the socket and hired a extension for a returnable deposit but when we came to return the lead it was a 40 minute wait while the guy got out of bed.
One bonus is it's sister site at Skirlington Leisure Park, which is where we would have stayed but they don't accept tents, the welcome was warm and helpful, and we had access to all the facilities like the swimming pool.
We found the toilet block to be clean but the portaloos that were dotted around the park were not so clean.
Would we return? for the stunning views from the cliff yes, for the grumpy reception and dodgy electric supply probably not.

We have been going a few years now and always enjoyed every minute, easy to find, loads of space, electric hookup, meeting others who camp,
clean toilets and showers, beautiful views from the cliff top, 10 minutes to local pub, short drive to shops.
The owner always around if you need him, a must go and see for yourself,

Just had a four night stay at the Cliff Top, was a nice site in a good location but could do with a bit of tlc. It was a busy easter weekend and bins were overflowing and the toilet block became dirty quickly.
We had 2 dogs with us which we clean up after all the time but some dog owners just didn't seem to care (dog mess is not good were children are playing).
It was a nice 10 minute walk to the local pub which allows dogs in the bar area. Also just a short drive or about a three quarter of an hour walk along the beach to shops in Hornsea.

Live review, on site with '3' Mifi dongle Saturday 01/11/14, 20 degrees at 3. 00pm !
We would really love to say to all ~ Please do not come here ~ Ever.
Then we could have it all to ourselves, but that would be so unfair.
We have been coming here for many years now, and can honestly say, loved every minute and never had a problem. Superbly maintained, fantastic views to Bridlington bay, all lit up at night.
The parking pitches are all well lit, with hook up, on golf course type grass.
If you are into stargazing, with the blackness of the north sea, and no spoiling city lights, this is the place to gaze, the milky way seems so clear and close.
We live in Sheffield, under 2 hours away, we ring the site manager at short notice, (Mick) (you try and find me a nicer bloke) we usually book more than one night, (which gives a 20% discount)and as he knows we stop in Hornsea for fish and chips on our way in, he insists we do not stop at reception and pay later, so our chips keep warm, where else do you get friendly sites like that ?
The review below that complains about the dog sat on the grasscutter, a little unfair, maybe written by a city type person ?
The guy who cuts the grass has no driving licence, likes a drink, and is very short sighted, and without the one bark for left a bit, two barks for right a bit, may well squash a tent without his guide dog.
All in all, if you like quiet sites, with lovely coastal walks, very rarely kids on site (Bank hols excepted) sorry if your a family person, but I am not, been there done that, now prefer a bit of peace (dare say you do !)
And if you are a family guy, they have a sister site half a mile north, with all the family type of facilities.
Happy camping whoever you are.

Just returned form a lovely two days at the Cliff Top
A bit busier than last time we were there but still As lovely. The whole site is immaculate, and friendly
Close to other resorts, Hornsea, Bridlington and A little further Filey & Scarborough.
The charges are the same if you have electric Hook up or not. But I just like the site anyway. We usually go on the cliff top as it's quieter up There.
The pub in the village The Black Horse Do lovely meals and there was a small function On yesterday on the village green, with live entertainment Till midnight, it was a really fun day with BARBEQUE
Didn't want to leave today and will return.

Not a lot to add from previous review.
Booked for beginning of August the day I got back. Arrived late on the Friday so pitched in dark, with a little help from on site lighting. Not to obtrusive I might add as some sites I've visited the light streams in through your tent.
Toilet facilities very clean, lovely hot water and always
Plenty of loo roll. Plenty of rubbish bins as well as main refuse area, conveniently placed not far from the toilets allowing you to take your rubbish daily.
Fire safety features very good with RED boxes marked up with instructions all over the site.
I noticed that the on site warden was showing all new guests to their allocated pitches on arrival, obviously having checked in first.
I didn, t see a children's playground which I guess is great for some, but the facilities at its sister site are more than adequate and only a 5 minute drive away at the most, didn't walk round the coast to it so can't comment how long it would take. Might try that next visit.
The views are absolutely fantastic out to sea and across to Flamborough Head where in the distance you can see the lighthouse keeping ships safe at night with its piercing white beam.
About 12 miles up the coast is Bridlington with a choice of 2 supermarkets and 3 miles down is Hornsea with a new supermarket(Brand not to be named).
Should you wish to venture further up the coast you'll find Scarborough with its arcades and a fantastic beach.
All in all an excellent 4 nights was had.

This was our second visit here and we found it to be just as good as the first time (apart from the weather)!
Staff were friendly and helpful, pitches were good, not too regimented, toilets and showers clean. Fab views out to sea and a nice bracing walk to the market on sunday morning.
Will definitely go again.
