We have been coming to cliff top for the past 7 years, every May bank holiday and will be there this year too, only in a caravan, this time instead of the tent, my whole family, kids, friends and the dog. We came from Derbyshire and Lancashire and all meet up here.
It is a wicked site, the views are amazing, the showers, loo, s and facilities are fine, sometimes a bit grassy but you are camping after all! The staff are fantastic, and always helpful, it's the kind of site to meet up, have a drink, BBQ, and wait for the daily visit from the ice cream van.
The views are fantastic, and it's very peaceful. Hornsea has a co op and various other shops, sadly the deli closed a couple of years ago! Take always and corner chip shop also good.
The only negative that we have experienced is some caravanners, they buy heaters then blow out the site electrics, you see loads of box's in the bins. So all in all we think Cliff top is amazing, peaceful, calm and beautiful, we'll be there the first weekend every May for as long as we can 8 yrs this year.

Just returned from our second visit to this site, the first just a weekend, this time a full week. We loved it! The views from the site are simply fantastic.
The staff are very friendly, helpful and always on hand without being intrusive at all.
The views from the site are simply fantastic.
The facilities are very good. Toilets, sinks and showers are clean. A mop and bucket is present for those conscious enough to clean up after themselves, surprising how many don't!
EHU is 10amp and we had no problems at all with the supply.
Getting on to the beach is a careful walk /climb down the cliff face to miles of quiet sands.
Alternatively great walks along the cliff tops, although we did have to watch every other step for dog muck, I would point out this is on the cliff top walk which is the edge of farm land, NOT the site, although the dogs and their owners are from the site. Seems they only 'pick up' when on the mown grass of the site field not in the longer un kept grass on the farm land / cliff top ! (Grrrr!)
Great site for a chill out, cant wait to go back.

Been to this site a lot as with two dogs I love the ready access to the beach. But I do hope the owners / management read this.
Too many large groups with tents clearly come just to party all day & night.
They generally pitch up away from the main field. But the rowdiness carries and there appears to be no supervision of kids / teenagers.
The obsession with cutting the grass is ridiculous, on a Sat whilst having lunch I found it a bit worrying watching the Labrador on the sit on mower it's tail dangerously close to the spinning blades, I am sure he does it all the time but I cringed at the thought of witnessing an accident in addition to this the contraption used does not pick up. Which means very quickly you are walking grass into your tent / van and the toilet / shower block becomes saturated in soggy grassy clumps.
The poor chap comes and cleans but within no time it is full of grass again all over the floor, in the shower trays. Really not nice.
The toilet block is disrespected by the guests, water all over the sides, hair in sinks, loo roll on the floor this is not a criticism of the site but the clientèle.
I would remove mirrors above the sink so make up / hair is done elsewhere.
If I could find an alternative site with such lovely views of the sea I would, but it's location is second to none. The walk to the main site is nice across the tops for a pint & fish & chips. In the other direction the walk on the beach to Hornsea is also nice.
Access to the beach is a bit hairy to walk down as it is an unmade steep path however discarded beer bottles, tins, burnt out bbq's spoil the beach until you reach secluded bits I just I can't understand why people are so filthy and disrespectful of such a lovely place as it spoils it for everyone.

Just spent the bank holiday weekend at the site and was very impressed, this was our first time camping in our van and we couldn't have picked a better site, the staff were very friendly and not intrusive and the views we had from our van were second to none, not a lot to do but very relaxing.
We will definitely be staying here again. The site is within easy reach of its sister site Skirlington and we walked there along the beach and back through the walkway through the fields.

Campsite very quiet. But this time of year that is to be expected. Why were the toilet/shower facilities locked. Had to use the disabled facility and that was terrible. Shower had no temperature control and the head kept falling off the wall. Then, couldn't switch it off.
Came in August and July and we had to put up with constant grass cutting it was everywhere. Will have to try and find somewhere else.

Well we have been going to this site for many years and to be honest since it has been part of the Skirlington group we have noticed the prices going up and the standards going down. I do not want to use the facilities at Skirlington - if I did I would go there. There should be a discount if you do not use their facilities.
This visit our son was already camping there and we asked for the nearest EHU to their tent, we were told someone had booked the nearest one but had not paid a deposit so we could use that EHU but may have to move it IF they turned up! (how can you book a pitch without paying a deposit?)and he told us we could borrow an extension to the hook up so we could pitch nearby.
So we pitched up and asked about the extension only to be told 'Sorry none left they are all lent out!'
The toilet block was in a disgusting state the whole of our stay, I did not see it cleaned once. Families seem to just let the kids out at break of dawn and just let them do as they wish which included sticking a couple of rolls of loo paper to the toilet ceiling and the constant filling up of water pistols!
The site is now very noisy and security is non existent. The guy on the quad shouted abuse at our son across the field telling him to stop his children from playing around the loos when they were playing at the opposite end of the field.
All in all not a very pleasant experience this time will think long and hard about going again especially at those prices.

Just got back from four days at Cliff Top Caravan park.
Lovely spot, right on the cliff tops. Had a choice of where we wanted to be, so chose a spot with uninterrupted views out to sea. Perfect for a bit of chilling out and relaxing.
There was a pleasant welcome from the staff when we arrived (sales person for the statics I think). We were allowed to pay later as card machine was playing up, which was handy.
The site is small, with a few statics, an area for tents and the sea front area for tourers. We were one of about 6 tourers, and there was loads of room between each van.
The toilet / shower facilities were fine. I only spotted one other person there in the time we were there. Three showers, push button type, but large cubicles and a fold down chair to no wet clothes/shoes. Clean enough, but due to grass cutting floor ended up a mess after a bit.
There's two water points, for fresh water, near the toilet block, and one Elsan point. Disappointingly this was in full view of the site, I'd have preferred it to be round the back out of view, it also didn't have a hose on the tap, which made for hard rinsing of the loo cassette. Also, no obvious grey water disposal point, so we used the Elsan point. ? Worth noting the fresh water points are quite a trek from where the tourers are pitched.
Couple of issue for us, the grass was cut while we were there, and our mains hookup lead was disconnected while they mowed round our van, sadly the person cutting the grass then forgot to reconnect our van up! So the fridge had begun the warm up and some of our frozen goodies were no longer frozen. No big deal though, just a little disappointing oversite. We mentioned it to the staff and had a little knocked off our stay.
The second issue, is really cost, at £18 compared to some sites, it might seem a touch steep. I didn't mind paying that as the views are excellent, without the busyness of other coastal sites. I imagine you are paying for the facilities on offer at the Skirlington groups' other sites (pool/sauna/etc etc) just up the road (1. 5miles away). I'd prefer the option of not using these other facilities (as we didn't) and say paying £15 p/n - those wanting to use the facilities up the road pay £18 p/n?
Anyway, enjoyed our stay, managed to walk across the cliff tops into Hornsea (2. 5 miles), also can get down the cliff, carefully, at one point to walk on the beach, but its a bit steep and I wouldn't recommend to anyone not strong or confident on their feet.
Good pub nearby, a 5-10 min walk in the village, but no village shop.

Been going now for the last 5 years, with Tent, Husband and 2 children and a dog. The staff are lovely, they don't intrude.
The toilets and wash up room and showers are very clean. There is lots of room for the kids to run about and play games. I am glad there are no other facilities on site as it makes the children play cricket or fly kites etc and no extra cost.
There is a pub called the Black Horse in the village. They do excellent meals, and take out pizza and have a beer garden.
You also get passes for the Sister site, which is a lovely walk off the road. Lovely relaxing holiday, well for me anyway.

We have had our first visit to this site and fell in love with the place. First of all we met a very friendly guy in the office who passed us on to a man on a quad who give us a choice of pitches, again he was friendly and very helpful,
The views were second to none,
The toilets and showers were modern and clean with plenty of hot water,
The grass was nice and short and the place was spotless,
Not a lot for kids to do unless they make there own entertainment with a ball, kite etc,
Plenty of room without disturbing the caravans,
We have already booked our 2nd visit and cant wait

Just got home after spending a week at Cliff top. It was our first time camping, so we were unsure what to expect. Overall we were very pleased with the facilities which are basic but very clean. I was impressed with the shower block, which was always lovely and warm in the early hours. A couple of teens turned up for the night and left a mess the following morning, The site owner was quick to attend and deal with it. There was no mess at all around the site in general and there are plenty of dog poo bins dotted around and refuse facilities. The owner has done all they can to keep this site as clean as possible and deserves credit for it.
We would recommend this site for lovely views and cleanliness.
