We have just come home from a fantastic weeks holiday. 2 adults and 2 kids aged 8 and 12. First time at this site. I will sum this site up in a sentence. Nothing at all apart from bin area, a shower block and pot wash. Having said that, we knew there wasn't anything on camp and was only using it as a base. A lovely place to stay if you just wanting to relax and chill out.
3 showers in the block, once had to wait 10 mins or so, but most of the time straight in. The water was always hot, no matter the time of day, but as with all camp site showers, the flow was not fab and it goes of every 20 seconds and you've to press the button again. Chair in each cubicle for your clothes and a hook at the back of the door. The shower blocks are warm and generally clean, although the frequent grass cutting, sometimes leaves the floor a mess, but they do clean once a day and that is not the fault of the camp. The Bin area has plenty of bins and are emptied regularly. There is a large open space for the kids to play footie, frisby etc.
There is a way down to the beach from camp, but is very steep and although my two kids managed, both me and my hubby ended up on our butts! The office/reception is a static caravan as you first enter the site. I found the staff both helpful and friendly, and apart from a every now and again drive through the camp by the owner, they were non intrusive and left us alone for the full week. Dont pitch a tent by the white track as you drive in because tractors drive past often and leave behind dust that lands all over your car, tent and anything you have outside!
The walk to Skirlington can be walked from camp in 15-20 mins (clear pathaway from roads and cliff tops) or driven in 4 or 5 mins(1. 5 miles away). On Skirlington camp there is chippy, shop, park, laundrette, club house with 2 bars and cafe area, pool and sunday and wednesday car boot and market. We went to Skirlington camp a few times and it was really good and all facilities are free to use with your pass, that is given on arrival at Cliff top.
While we camped we went to Hornsea Freeport, not massive but ok. We had 2 days in Bridlington, where there is loads of rides arcades, speedboat rides ect. And I cannot recommend enough the 'bridlington leisure complex' which looks like a giant arcade on the sea front but inside there is a cinema, bowling and the best cavery I've ever eaten at on the second floor. We also spent a few nights in the Pavillion again on the front, where there is a wacky warehouse style place for the kids and live music. There is also a leisure pool on Brid front and at around 4 quid per child provides a few hours entertainment. Although we didn't go this time, there is the john bull rock factory, with soft play centre attached, a Sealife Centre in Scarborough and Mr Moos ice cream factory just down the road. We also took a day to Flamingo Land, with is about an hours drive from camp.
All in all a really good camp if you are willing to find your own entertainment and we will definitely go to this site again.

Great campsite. Drive on and cliffs on left (with some static caravans on) and some tents, and on the right is a big flat grassy field for caravans and tents. Very spacious. Grass mown exceedingly short which is fantastic in the morning with the dew!Toilet block very clean and well maintained. 4 toilets and 3 showers in ladies, never had to queue to use either. Has some electric hook ups but not sure if there's enough available for every camper so check when you book. Campers are pitched round the edge of the big field so it's fantastic for kids on their bikes to ride round the middle on, play tennis etc.
No shop or other facilities. No shop in village either according to a local, although you can either walk across the cliff top (25 mins) to Skirlington caravan park (who are linked to this site)along the public footpath, or drive (2 mins) to the well-stocked shop there. Skirlington site also holds a massive car boot and market on Sundays (and Wednesdays too in July and August. ) The market and car boot are split so it's easy to choose if you don't want to visit both.
The Black Horse pub is a 5 minute stroll down the road, does food and has a quiz (I think) Fridays. Entertainment is on at Skirlington and you also have full use of their facilities (swimming pool, fish & chips, supermarket, bars etc. ) 40 minutes walk along the beach to Hornsea (check tides!) which is lovely. Hornsea has some lovely little shops and a quite large Co-op for a bigger shop and a museum which is worth a look for £3. It also has a shopping outlet if you're interested or if it's raining but that is further out of town. You can also walk to Skipsea via the other direction. Beach access down a steep slope behind reception.
BBQs allowed if raised. Not cheap at £17 per night per tent plus £2 per person but it's great for kids and it accepts dogs too. Fabulous views and wherever you are put on the park you will be literally 2 minutes from wonderful sea views.

Great site we went with our friends who were in a tent. The owner was very helpful placing us near the toilet block as we had a disabled child with us. There is lots of room and the views are to die for. The toilet/shower block was clean although the showers could have stayed on for longer. The washing up facilities were also clean and tidy. We will be going back.

Site is well placed for visiting the east riding coast with plenty of space apart from that its rather disappointing. The facilities block is modern but generally unkempt appeared to be cleaned once a day, no toddler facilities apart from a nappy changing unit in the washup room, I would say if you have young children then this site is not for you. Local pub 10mins walk from site serves good food but service could be better. Hornsea is quite unspoilt you can still have a cheap day out on the beach with the kids, lookout for the Panto at the Floral Hall cheap but cheerful and the paddling pool on the prom outside the cafe when the beach is rather cool the kids love it. Hornsea Freeport is disappointing with many empty units maybe a sign of the times. A visit to the mere is good plenty of space and water fowl, hire a rowing boat for the family approx £10 an hour for a family of 4, cafe on site for a reasonable snack or lunch. Went to Skipsea but I think it must have disappeared with the cliff erosion.
Brid was fine typical holiday resort with plenty of activities to amuse the children.

This was our first time camping so we decided that we would go just for the 1 night. There were four of us that went. Two of us were 17 year olds. This campsite was kept extremely clean and tidy. It was in a good location because it is located near Skirlington (1 mile away), Hornsea (2-3 miles away) and Bridlington (about 10 miles away). There was plenty of space to pitch your tent especially if you don't require electric. The toilets and showers were kept clean and tidy, and the staff were very kind and helpful. With Hornsea being a couple of miles away, we enjoyed a 35 minute walk along the cliff top to get to Hornsea. The only downside was that the site doesn't have many facilities and none for younger children. However, you can use the facilities at the sister site at Skirlington. We had a very nice and enjoyable holiday.

After a friendly welcome we were shown to our pitch by a fellow on a push bike. Because we had young kids he asked if we wanted to go on the camping field instead of the caravan part on top of the cliff top. Wow we have never had so much room the kids thought it was great as they could run wild without upsetting any one. When I say space I mean prob 3 to 4 acres, no doubt it will fill up in the holidays. The toilets were generally clean and looked pretty new. There is no park but who needs one. Only downside was the elsan point it could easily be missed as it was on the edge of the field and not part of the toilet block. I highly recommend this park very rare for me believe me very rare. If you so wish you can use all the facilities of low Skirlington caravan park 1.5 miles away. Will be going back with 3 other caravans in September.

This is a well kept site. The grass is well kept and there is plenty of room. No litter. I wondered whether the four loos and three showers in the ladies would be enough for all the women and children on the site but it seemed OK. On our first night the loo roll had run out, but at 6.30 the following morning the facilities were being cleaned and the loo roll replaced.
I went over a few weeks ago and the friendly staff were quite happy to let me have a look around.
Some of the pitches are close to the cliff and there is no doubt that coastal erosion in the area is pretty bad, but there is plenty of room well away from the edge, particularly if you do not need electric hook up.
There are no facilities at the site other than the loos/washing up, but you can use the other Skirlington Leisure site. We went there for Sunday breakfast and had a decent breakfast including tea or coffee for £2.95. There is also a shop and a swimming pool on that site and various other amenities which we didn't look at.
Convenient for Hornsea, not too far from Bridlington and with amazing views, Cliff Top is worth a try. It was £31 for two nights for a tent with no hook up.

Only our second outing with the tent and we have mixed feelings about this campsite.
STAFF:
The staff are very friendly and very helpful, our electric hook up was just too short to reach the outlet (because of the long line of other punters) the staff gave us an extension to use for the duration of our stay:)
FACILITIES:
We feel this is where the site falls down. Although we did go May bank holiday weekend and I dare say the site would be allot more pleasant when not full. There is only one toilet / shower block for the whole campsite and they got busy at times. I found the Gents to be very clean and well maintained. My wife found the Ladies to be very busy and sometimes unpleasant.
The electricity constantly tripped out on the first night, not from our outlet but, from the main service, this started of with a bit of humour as everyone cheered when it came back on then, boo-ed when it tripped off again but, ended up been a pain.
The view from the cliff top is stunning and the walks are lovely, be prepared for some wind though(you would be crazy not to expect it up there)
Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would consider returning on a quieter weekend.

First time at this site, chose it to try caravan out after being in storage since October last year, though £17 a night was a bit steep but when I found out this is the price all year round per pitch (regardless of numbers, awnings, pets etc) and if you wish have use of facilities at Skirlington caravan park with your receipt, bars, entertainment, swimming pool etc, I thought, hey this is quite a good deal. Can only repeat what has been said before, staff brilliant and friendly, very helpful, site clean, and clean all the time, site not full when we were there but lots of space and it was busy but still everything kept up to standard, god it felt good going into a toilet block and it being warm. Showers hot although you have to keep pressing the button, so what it is free. Have booked for a week during the school hols for grand kids, will definitely make this site a regular on my list.
