As stated in previous reviews the big plus side of this site are the friendly staff !, couldn't do enough for you and managed to squieze us on to a grass pitch in between the static vans when the site was full ! The shower & toilet facilities are nice (not the 5 star as advertised but ok - nice) the site itself is nicely laid out with a lot of static homes and a small touring area with a large manor house at the top of the site which has a bar & cafe ! The bid disappointment was the fact that the site advertises stunning views over Ulleswater lake ! You can not see the lake from anywhere on this site ! And although the site is only 15 minutes walk from pooley bridge and the steamer peir ! The walk is either via a very muddy footpath across to fields and a wood or via a very narrow fast country lane road ! The latter taking your life in your hands ! Unfortunately it's 'not what it says on the tin'

This site is top of the list for having cheerful and extremely helpful staff.
The showers are about the best we have enjoyed at any site - there are three for men and the same for the women. Each shower is spacious with a hand bowl and chair with ample room so no excuse for splashing clothing.
The TV reception could be better but maybe we were a little unlucky with our pitch location, although we did use the site area connection.
The charge of £25 per night (2 adults and EH) is probably comparable with most sites of this quality, but I can't help feeling that prices are getting too inflated in general.

Cannot praise wardens enough on this site, they are incredibly approachable, helpful, kindly spoken and friendly. No issues apart from very sharp rocky and thinly spread core on hard standing pitches. You will need either a super thick ground sheet or to always leave van with something a lot more substantial than a flip flop or slipper. Even my walking boots didn't soften the harshness of the ground. Touring pitches are of sizeable difference, chosen for you but not by size of van which meant larger outfits seemed squashed in. Maybe size of van should be chosen to match size of van. It would only need an alteration to the booking form to include this and especially when you are not choosing your own pitch. Very clean facilities, very handy for all Lake District attractions and activities. We will visit again, hopefully the weather will be kinder.

Booked a five day break here but enjoyed it so much, we decided to stay an extra night. Would of liked to stay longer but we'd of had to change pitches. Nice quiet site. Check in was quick and efficient with an on foot escort to our pitch. Pitch was just big enough to accommodate caravan and awning. Also a grassed area to park the car next to awning. Toilet/showers were clean enough and each cubicle has it's own washbasin too. The showers are the push type every 20 seconds or so which is a bit of a nuisance. The water temperature is fixed which again was a bit irritating. I would of preferred it hotter. That system of push taps and temperature also applies to the wash up area. I kind of understand the consistent water temperature of the showers obviously taking into account young children using them, however I've never seen a five year old washing pots and pans. Us ladies can stand hot water to wash up after a BBQ!
The site is predominately used for statics with the touring section accommodating approx 35 units. Nice bar serving drinks in high season with fab views over lake ullswater. Altogether a lovely find and definitely one we will frequent again.

Lovely site just 5 minutes walk to lake ullswater.
Well laid out site with lovely clean toilet and shower room. There is a bar on site which was nice, there is still some work going on out the back of the bar putting in outside seating areas. We found a table out there even though it was still work in progress. Fabulous view over the lake from there as it is quite a bit higher up.
Pooley Bridge is a lovely quaint old village. Penrith is close if you need big supermarkets.

We visited this caravan site for two nights staying in the wigwams. Its was amazing the wigwam itself was immaculate and private area was just perfect. Staff lovely and facilities that were available e. G shower block was clean to however did not need to use as they were in wigwam. Lovely 10 minutes walk to poorly bridge with my 2 year old and 8 year old enjoyed we took baby of 10 months to and was easy to get around with pushchair. We took picnic stuff and went on boat ride. Will definitely be returning to the wigwams as we all loved it. We also had a BBC to save on pennies! !

Stayed 3 nights over Easter and we can only say it was effortless, firstly we got a call in the day from warden to advise us of our pitch number and were we could find her if we had a problem as we were arriving late. Got there to find a nice hardstanding pitch with room for awning and our car, there is a small shop on site but Penrith and all you need is only 10mins in car, great shower block with a wet room set-up in each compartment with a sink, chair, hooks for clothing so nothing gets wet, slightly busy in a morning but as it was Easter the site was full to the seems, great to walk to pooley bridge from site on paths off the road about 15 mins, they also have a public bar on site for a drink. There is a play area for the children with swings and slides, we will be using this site again through the summer that's for sure.

Stayed on this site for a couple of days in the middle of March to see how our new puppy got on with camping and caravanning,
Site was easy to find about 5 miles off the M6 jct 40, but chose to return home over the Kirkstone Pass not as boring (we only have a very small caravan not sure how larger ones would manage)
The site was very neat and tidy and you could see that there was a lot of activity going on maintenance for the new season ahead.
Warmly greeted by Michelle (i think) who informed us that they were in the middle of some upgrading, the large house in particular,
Toilets were lovely and warm which was nice in such chilly weather, exceptionally clean with hand soap/cream, hairdryers, the only fault I could say would be that I was a little nervous going around the back when the site was so quiet it would have been better to have the ladies at the front,
Shop on site was a little sparse but it might be more stocked when they have someone to buy it
Pooley Bridge was only a 10-15 min walk away and no problems taking the puppy into two of the pubs, it will be nice to just walk up to the bar on site when it is all renovated. (so rated lower than if was open)
Didn't have children with us but looked like there was a good play area
All in all will go again

We spent a week at Waterfoot park for October half term in our tourer with our girls who were aged 9 and 7. In October the nights were getting dark and we endured some pretty bad windy conditions but none the less enjoyed it. The girls enjoyed the park and I would imagine that it is a lot of fun in summer as the football/grass pitch which is part of the children's park area will, I'm sure, be a magnet for children to meet and make friends.
We dressed our caravan up and it was fun going trick or treating around the site. The owners put on a great Halloween party, I hope that this stays even with the change in management as a great time was had by all in a happy family bar area.
We went to the nearby Rheged centre, there is a good adventure park there. Keswick, about 20 mins drive was lovely to visit too.

Spent August Bank Holiday weekend at Waterfoot. Site is easy to reach, about 5 miles from Junction 40 on M6. Good roads to site and big sign at entrance to site that can't be missed. We were met on arrival and given directions to the touring area and told to pick any of the empty pitches.
Pitches are hard standing (gravel) and plenty of room but I do agree they could do with some tlc. There is a good play area for kids. Toilets were always clean and never busy.
There is a bar on site that was quiet. We felt there was a lot more potential for the bar that wasn't being used, but still a nice place to have a relaxing drink.
The site is very quiet and no trouble with noise at night.
We walked to Pooley Bridge, which took about 15 minutes. This was along the road with no pavements so not advisable with small children. Although we did find a path through the trees signposted Waterfoot on the way back.
Pooley Bridge is a small Village with a few shops, a Tea Room (nice cream teas) and Three pubs. The Crown Inn backs onto the river and children were in the water whilst their parents had a drink and kept an eye on them.
Keswick is 17 miles away, Penrith 5 miles away. Aira Force waterfall is only a couple of miles from the site and there are plenty of walking to be done.
Nice site and we would go back
