Visited this site with my wife and 3 kids, facilities where spotless clean and very close to caravan. Kids park was great and all my kids really enjoyed playing and cycling in there.

The site almost sits on Ullswater and is about 10 minutes from Penrith. There is a bar/lounge and shop on site at the top of the hill. The Laundry room was a life saver for us as one of the days was very wet, and again spotless clean.

All in all a great family site, value for money, and well worth a visit

Having searched for a site in the area, I was pleased to find this is about the only one that doesn't charge for extras such as awning, dogs or extra adults.

The booking system is simple, ring and book, no deposit was taken.

The site is clearly marked from the main road and on arrival the signs on the site clearly point you in the right direction. Site your van in a vacant pitch.

The showers and toilets were spotless, although I must say the pitches could do with a little tlc regarding the grass being cut back.

All in all value for money and will return when we get the chance.

Spent a lovely Easter week again at Waterfoot Caravan Park. Snow still in places around the site. Plenty of snow still on the road side. Toilet block always spotless clean at all times of day. Lovely and peaceful. Great to have hard standing pitches even wide enough to put the awning on as well. Plenty of places to visit in the area. We did well with the weather as it stayed mainly dry. Will certainly be back again in the future. Television reception was good. Cannot comment on the play area as our children don't come with us any more. There is a small dog walk on site, but there are plenty of places out and about to walk dogs. Plenty of lovely places to eat out and about too. The owners are very helpful and friendly.

We used this site for a couple of nights on our journey home from scotland.

Unfortunately there had been some torrential rain in the area for about 12 hrs before our arrival. This lead to the touring area being partly flooded by a stream over flowing that was running through the site. This left our choice of pitches limited and left us a little squashed in one corner of the touring area, so sadly not a good start to our short stay.

The site is part statics, part touring, the static area looks lovely and is very well landscaped, the touring area looks slightly like a poor relation in comparison. Although I have to say it had a great area for kids to play. The toilet block is good and has very roomy showers. I personally didn't find the lady on reception that friendly ( maybe the weather situation didn't help ?? ) We also had some noisy neighbours with 2 kids and 3 dogs who partied till after 12am in the pitch next to us !

The surrounding area is very scenic but sadly Pooley Bridge wasn't as nice as I remember it. I think a victim of it, s own success and a bit to crowded with parking problems.

I would presume it is a site we won't in the future return to.

We liked this site; it was in a lovely setting with immaculate toilets, showers etc. We felt the Park looked a bit tired around the edges but this may have been due to the unusually heavy rains that we'd had.

On arrival, we were told to choose any pitch which were not numbered. If we wanted to leave the park and return to the same pitch we were advised to leave something lying around to indicate that it was still in use. Having a Motorhome, we found this a little off-putting.

Pooley Bridge is about a mile from the Park, with lovely views of Ullswater Lake. Although the roads are narrow with no footpaths, it is possible to walk through the woods.

We can recommend the Steamer Trips provided you wrap up warm and take a mac.

This was our second visit. Went last year and fell in love with the place. Just spent a week here again and it was lovely. Good value for money is an understatment. One all in price per night, no extra couple of quid here and there for awnings, dogs, hookups etc. Pitches are nice and spread out. Toilet blocks imaculate, very quiet site.

It was pretty busy when we were there but never noisy, no wating for showers or toilets. Kids (of which there were plenty of) seemed well catered for with the play park and field and we never heard them at all.

Dog friendly bar at the top of the site in a beautiful building. Staff are most friendly and always happy to help if you need it. Touring field surrounded by stunning trees full of wildlife. Easy caravan friendly main road to the site.

There are only 2 downsides to this site, its just a bit too far out of the village with a bit of a tricky (if you have a pushchair) but pretty walk through woodland taking about 15 - 20 mins and the dog walking field is about 12x20 feet. I can live with it as the site is peaceful and very reasonably priced compared to others in pooley bridge. We will return again and again!

We have just returned from a 10 day trip to this site. It's perfectly located for the beautiful village of Pooley Bridge and the staff are friendly.

It's a well kept site eg always mowing the grass etc. The club house is nice, but not overly well supported by visitors which is a shame. The only negative comments I would make is that the pitches are very close together so when it's busy it's quite tightly packed.

The arrangements on arrival are a bit vague and there isn't anyone around to help you apart from in the shop for two hours in the morning and between 4 and 5 pm. After that it's at the bar from 7. 30 in the evening. In the end I had to phone their contact number to ask a few questions.

There is an information board but it's not as helpful as having someone meet and greet you on arrival as you get in the Caravan Club.

Also the shower blocks are good but it would be helpful, as the Caravan Club do, to have a mop and bucket as when it's wet/rainy the floors get a bit messy and of course it often rains in the Lakes.

I would go back, but I wouldn't rate it as highly as one of the Caravan Club sites and it's certainly no cheaper, but it's certainly very nice.

We stayed here for 4 nights. It is about 5 miles from the M6 on a decent road to pull a caravan. The site has about 35 hardstanding pitches of various sizes and 5 grass ones.

They have tall trees down one side and trees and hedges on two sides separating from statics with the top end open. When we arrived we drove around as instructed to select a pitch, five left to pick from.
There were always at least three empty pitches during our stay, perhaps they plan it that way to give some choice?

The hardstanding we chose was easily big enough for the caravan, awning and two cars. We also had a grass area about the same size as the hardstanding to put table and chairs on and allow a 2 year old to kick a ball around. They have TV connections. I would have marked higher for water and drainage.

You pay at the shop or the manor house bar after you have pitched up. The man in the bar was very pleasant and helpful. The bar is 350 metres up a steep hill from the tourers. There is some parking beside it. It has a room for adults only and one for families with a pool table and lots of toys for young ones.

The small shop sells basics but is only open 8am-9. 30am and 4pm-5pm. There is a playground with slides, swings etc and a football pitch in a separate large field close to the tourer area.

The toilets were always clean when we used them. The shower rooms are large with a chair and plenty room to get dressed and a sink with a mirror. The showers are easy push button with good set temperature.

Close to Pooley Bridge. (I would not recommend walking there along a narrow road with no pavements) Pooley Bridge has a popular paddling river, cafes, pubs and shops.

Ullswater lake steamers and boat hire are available there. Easy drive to Windermere, Keswick and many Lake district attractions.

Very nice site, we will return there.

We stayed on this site on successive weekends when over-nighting to and from Scotland. It is conveniently located a few miles from Penrith and the M6, yet close enough to Ullswater to enjoy panoramas of the Cumbrian fells.

The wash facilities are excellent and very well maintained. There is also a rather grand club house with bar and lounge equipped with games facilities. The only downside we found is that the touring pitches are rather close together, which with the surrounding tall trees can create a rather claustrophobic ambience when the site is full, as well as making manoeuvring on and off pitches awkward (especially if children are playing).

Allocation is very much on a first-come-first-serve basis, so that it might pay to arrive early if you have a particular preference for what pitch you would like (especially as the lower pitches can waterlog after heavy rain). However, the staff are friendly and very trusting (the instructions at the entrance tell you to pitch first then can pay up later at the clubhouse once you’ve set up).

Touring and static park with excellent access. 20 mins walk from Pooley bridge, 10 mins walk from the steamer pier ( which is well worth a trip, the steamers are owned by the same company as waterfoot) Old school managers are very friendly and helpful. Clean facilities which look perhaps a little utilitarian. The site is fairly wooded which does make it a little dark. Lots of wildlife about, birds, squirrels etc. Overall, a very nice park in an area which must have some of the best scenery in England. Has more of an adult than family feel. No extensive views due to the trees. Not sure I would return as there are sites in this valley more geared to families and with better views.
