We absolutely loved this site. It is only licensed for thirty tourers (no tents) so you are guaranteed to be spared the crowds and queing for facilities which is unavoidable in some parks over the lake. The facilities themselves are of the highest standard we have seen. It was a pleasure to have a shower here and we loved the wash basins in the shower cubicles (I hate brushing my teeth in front of strangers) and the free hairdryers available. The site is beautifully maintained and there is a huge field with football posts and playground equipment for the kids, all discreetly tucked away at the back of the park. The on-site shop is only open between 9 and 10 in the morning but we didn't find this a problem, the pub opens at 7.30. All in all we found this site perfectly maintained, tranquil and with excellent tarriffs. In low season June it cost us £14 a night for our tourer with no extra charge for hookup or awning. In mid-July it will cost only £18. Waterfoot Park is a perfect 1/2 mile distance from Pooley Bridge which is accessible by a footpath through the forest. It roughly follows the road and brings you out right at the bridge into the village. We found this great fun but bring a torch if attempting it at night otherwise use the road. Pooley Bridge is an expensive tourist village which does not offer much in the way of shops but good pubs with good grub (these will rapidly lighten your wallet). We do recommend visiting the Farm shop in local Stainton for some of the best meat, veg and jam you will ever taste.

We spent a lovely weekend here. The touring area is not too big, with hard standing. I must highly recommend the toilet/shower area, spotlessly clean and warm. A very clean and well maintained site, with security cameras. I never used the bar or shop to submit a comment. To get to the shores of Ullswater, use the public right of way through the field in front of the bar, its a nice walk and saves taking children down the busy road! I would definitely return to this site.

Just came back from our Easter weekend stayed here for four nights. This site is well kept and quiet, with a good play area to keep the kids amused IE: climbing frame swings and a good size field for a good kick around to tire the kids out before bed away from the caravans, but not far away.
The showers are of a good size which have their own wash basin, as well as a good sized changing area. But only three cubicles in either block, but nevertheless still very good. The park managers are very friendly and helpful. There is a small shop on site which sells bread milk papers. There is also a bar on site though not massive still good if that's what you want.
Pooley bridge is just a couple of mins away as well as Ullswater steamer. we will be going back to this site as its another on the list of good parks. And only 15 minutes from the m6.junct 40

Nice quiet site, excellant toilet block, the only negative was very narrow pitches and very waterlogged, mud everywhere, good location walking distance into pooley bridge. Friendly helpful staff. Bar on site and small shop, only about 30 pitches, the rest statics.

Aug 2004 We have just returned from this site and as far as we are concerned, we could not fault it. Facilties were spot on, the site was lovely and quiet, well mentained and there was even a shop and bar. I would recommend this site most definately. It was ideally situated - close enough to everything, but still nice and private, we stayed for a week and during that time, caravans were limited to hard standing only, this way it didn't become over crowded - I want to go back!!!

2001-2002-2003 Love this caravan park, unfortunately they do not allow tents onto the site. It is so peaceful and is very well kept. I try to go as many weekends as I can always start and end the season on this site. The facilities are very good and the park management are very helpful.
