Stayed here for 3 nights with electric hookup and its been the best trip so far, The campsite was massive and not to far away from the lake which gave us some superb views and photo opertunities.
There are loads of walks around the place + Pooley bridge is about 30-40 mins walk away where there are some nice pubs and loads of places to eat, there are also a couple of shope in there too.
There are also the Ullswater Steam boats that go from pooley Bridge down the lake to Glenridding that takes about an hour but well worth it as the scenery is stunning.
Another campsite that we will be going back to.

We've just spent a lovely 5 days at Waterfoot Park and would recommend this site. Fabulous location with great views over Dummallard Hill and short walk to the lake.
Arrived on the Saturday and followed the instructions of just picking any pitch that was free and informing the office that we had arrived when it was open.
The shower and toilet block were excellent with good hot showers and free hair dryers (didn't need them myself). Can't comment on the bar as we didn't venture in there but it is in a lovely building.
The site has an abundance of bunny rabbits running around the site which is cute and another good reason for keeping any dogs/cats on leads.
Nice walk/cycle to Pooley Bridge (about a mile away) with nice shops, tea rooms (Granny Dowbeggins) and 3 pubs. We've been to Pooley Bridge before and always found that the Pooley Bridge Inn to be the best for food and beer.
A good alternative pub is the Horse and Farrier Inn in Dacre which is just under 2 miles away and a pleasant walk along quiet lanes. It serves good food and good ale (reasonably priced) with very friendly owners.
The Ullswater Steamers are a nice way of exploring the lake visiting Glenridding and Howtown. Although it can be a bit breezy, as noticed by the wedding party on the boat with us who quickly went downstairs to the more cozy bar area.
This was our 1st outing this year so only found out our water pump wasn't working. Luckily we got referred to Caravan Supplies Penrith via the site and were quickly up and running.
We would definitely return to this site as it is close enough to Pooley Bridge to pop in to but far enough away for it to be away from it all.

If you are a family of four or more there can't be a better value site anywhere and even for a couple. The clean, warm and spacious facilities, as well as the location, make this an excellent site in the lake district park. Pitches are not the biggest but are all hardstanding and have tv connection. It is a 20 minute walk along a safe path though the woods into Pooley Bridge where there are several nice pubs and a small shop selling basics. It is only 10 minutes from the M6 and Penrith where there are several supermarkets. On the site there is also a small bar open every night but Sunday. Access for all the Lakes is second to none. Brilliant site which I love going back to.

Just got back from 4 night stay at Waterfoot and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff are friendly and helpful and quite laid back. No allocated pitches- just choose your own on arrival. Good play area for the kids and a sports pitch as well. Toilet /shower spotlessly clean and free showers, even the mens had a hairdryer which was also free. Also a very transparent booking price system with all occupants/pets/awnings etc inclusive in the nightly rate. In a lovely location about a mile from Pooley bridge. Recommend the food in the Kings Head which is about 3 miles from the site.

Spent a week here and loved the site. We were unlucky to pick a week where it rarely stopped raining and our pich became waterlogged.
The bar / clubhouse was lovely and the staff very friendly.
Toilets were clean and heated. Only problem was ladies entrance was around the back of the building making it a bit scary in the dark.
Not too far from the M6 and handy for exploring the lakes.
Definitely be visiting here again in 2012.

Really enjoyed our stay at Waterfoot. The facilities were excellent, toilets /showers very clean. Children loved the play area, very good field for football /cricket.
Walk to Pooley Bridge about 10 mins where children played in the river or the lake. Ate at the Pooley Bridge Inn, good value and very nice homemade meals.
Lido pool at Ingleton worth a visit. Tried to go to one at Greystoke which was slightly nearer but closed due to wet weather, apparently closes more frequently than Ingleton one.
Ghyll Scrambling at Newlands Outdoor Centre, Keswick was good fun and suitable for our 9 & 11 year old. Very good base for the Lake District and lovely site, will return again.

Had a lovely 3night break here on this small site. Arrived to choose our own available pitch which in one way wasn't great as the only ones left were in the shade at the bottom of the slope and it got a bit muddy. The sunny side was all taken!
However, having said that, it was lovely for the children as at the back of the pitch in a small wood was a beck which they loved playing in. (Had it been a dry summer it might have been a better pitch)
Play area & field= really nicely kept.
Management & team= very cheerful, friendly and helpful.
Bar= open in the evening where our older children used the family room and had a great time with their dad for a pool tournament. No jukeboxes / gambling machines / sky sport - lovely and quiet!
Value for money= excellent for our family of 6 as it is a fixed price.
Weather= wet- but there'd be no lakes otherwise. :0) This led to mud on shower floors. (the only negative about this site here is that we couldn't clean our cubicles as there was no mop / squeegee provided)
Showers /loos, well-kept; nice and clean (except for the mud issue if you didn't get in first!)
Wash up area in laundry room, nice and warm!
Beautiful surroundings. Had a lovely 15 minute walk into Pooley Bridge across the fields which we shouldn't have left til the last day.
Typically the sun came out on our journey home. Sign of a great holiday? We didn't want to come home!

Stayed at this site with a touring van and family with two children aged 7 and 4. Super site, peaceful setting with excellent facilities. The children's play area was great with climbing frames and a football field for them to run around on. Safe for them to cycle about also. Toilets were clean and warm and the park itself was spotless. Nice relaxed bar open to eleven if you did not fancy the short walk to the village. Bar set aside for families and cards and dominoes and some toys available to keep the kids entertained. Owners friendly. I would recommend this site without reservation.

Pick this site last minute and was so pleased that we did.
Pitches, - We picked our own, good sized, price was all in, which was very reasonable indeed.
Toilets- good amount of toilet cubicles. Clean
Showers- Excellent, 3 in the ladies, which were warm, even had a sink in the shower cubicle, very good size.
There were 2 free hairdressers for use, and some plugs beside the mirror if you wanted to use them.
Laundrette, washing machine, spin drier and a tumble drier. A free Iron and ironing board
Dish Washing- Beside the Laundrette, the were clean and had draining boards.
Very relaxed attitude towards when you go and book in and pay.
Pub was only open at weekends.
Was very impressed by this site indeed, would certainly use it and recommend without any hesitation.
Saw the toilets etc being cleaned every day and staff were friendly.
Good access
Gem of a site.

Visited for a three night mid week stay in July, Great site in a good location.
Spacious pitches, great shower block with cubicles containing shower and sink.
Bar only open on weekends, but prices seemed comparable with the rest of the area. His son were
The manager and his son were also very helpful when we had a mini disaster with the van on arrival
Ten minute walk in to Pooley Bridge, no need to walk along road as suggested in an earlier post. There is a path that starts at the site that crosses the neighbouring fields, cross the main road then walk the rest of the way through the woods.
Pooley Bridge is a great little village with three pubs and a couple of shops and not heaving with tourists during the week, Our fave pub was the Sun Inn the food was first class, the Trio of lamb is a must try.
All in all a great base for exploring the northern lakes
