What a great site. Really quiet with stunning views of the lake from the caravan window. My 3 children loved watching a farmer with a collie in the field behind rounding up his sheep. The playareas are great and my 3 year old was okay on most of the equipment. The toilet block and showers were without doubt the nicest I have seen. There were plenty of fresh water points. The shop stocked a good selection of food etc and had a decent stock of camping things and toys too. The opening hours were fairly limited but we didn't find this a particular problem. There is also a postbox, phonebox, carwash (jetwash) and take-away on site! The reception was really friendly and helpful. We didn't visit the bar but overall the site was very well maintained with clearly a lot of investment in facilities. The walk around the lake was great fun (not suitable for very young children - my 3 year old was fine - or pushchairs). The village has a nice pub and a few shops and is worth a wander around. My only criticism, which I feel guilty about making, is that the washing up sinks and the chemical disposal point were quite a way from the touring pitches. I usually carry the porta-potti waste tank to the Elsan point on sites but I was glad we had a trolley to get it there as it would have been a tough job without it due to the hill and distance. We've booked to go again though so can highly recommend!

We loved this site. Lovely and peaceful yet great play for kids and football and a bar if you wish to use it. Wardens were very friendly and regularly patrolled the site.
Showers and toilets were spotless.
Pooley Bridge lovely place. Only downside was as we have a young child we have a pushchair and we needed to walk on the road to get into Pooley Bridge. Quite hair raising on the blind bends. There is a footpath but it was not wide enough for it.
Great site would definitely go again

Just returned from a weekend at this very quiet and peaceful site. The site itself was spotless and well maintained, and the best toilet and showers facilities I've probably seen. Good play area for younger kids and only a short walk to pooley bridge and the lake.Plenty of activities to suit all the family on or around the lake.
On the down side the shop only opens at 8.30 til 10AM which is ok if your an early riser. The bar & family lounge is in need of up dating and a bit of life injecting into it.
If your looking for a quiet site then this is the site for you, would definitely return again for a short break

Stayed here for four days with our three young children. Family with children also brought their caravan and were able to pitch up next to us. Good space around us, not over-crowded.
Toilets and showers very clean. The staff work very hard and monitor the site regularly which I find comforting.
We used the clubhouse once and it was ok, may be busier during summer months.
Short walk to Pooley Bridge, though not that easy with toddlers and puchchairs. No pavements on roads and walk through wooded area proved problematic. Pooley Bridge itself was lovely.
Play area well kept and good size for children to play.

Beautiful site within easy walking distance of Pooley Bridge. Toilet and shower block immaculate (showers are free) with plenty of hot water. A lot of wildlife seen on this site early morning and dusk. Site is reasonably well drained - we stayed in the wettest August in years and did not flood! Shop sells usual bread, milk etc, but has very limited hours. Bar on site quiet and well priced. Site fees were very reasonable. Pooley Bridge has 3 pubs, all good food, again well priced and a fantastic tourist information shop. Site owners were very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Would definitely re-visit.

This is a very well maintained and well run site. WC & washroom facilities were immaculate (which is a must for us - given the fussiness of my wife!).
There is a bar on site with games room - much appreciated after a days walking!
The location was very close (within walking distance) to the village of Pooley Bridge and also within close access to Ullswater and surrounding lakes.
Lots to see and do - highly recommend to others -we will be returning (only problem encountered - which was not in connection to the site or facilities - was 'the magpie' who stole a water container filling pipe! Next time I will remember to store away all loose belongings.)
Overall a very enjoyable stay (even though the weather was not too good)- we were not disappointed. Thumbs up!

We stayed over the Whit weekend and what a lovely find compared to the other sites in Pooley Bridge which get too rowdy. The toilet block and washup areas were spotless with plenty of hot water. There is a large area for the kids with three play areas - which suited both our 3 and 7 year olds and an area big enough for a kick around with a football.
The bar area was open but needs a bit updating, but had splendid views over to the lake.
A short walk from the site took us to Pooley and the 3 year old managed it so it wasn't too far.
You can walk around the hill on the way to Pooley, or go up it if you are a bit more energetic.
Overall a very good site, kept very clean and nice and peaceful

Visited the site over the easter break, and what a pleasant surprise it turned out to be! We were recommended to try this site by a mate who stayed last year, and he was spot on, a lovely little site , spotless showers, loos and wash up areas, all very well kept. Pub wasn't open during our midweek stay which was a pity as I would have liked to have tried it , but the site itself was very sparsely populated at this time of year ( there was only 6 other fellow tourers on site, plus a handful of the static owners).
I will definitely return in the summer ( if I can get booked)as we were so impressed by the location, amenities and the standard of the site. Can't wait !

A lovely peaceful clean site. The toilet block very clean and tidy, lovely warm water for the showers. Pot washing room is great and heated for when it is cooler. The kids enjoyed the park with plenty of room for football. The club house is fantatsic with a large open fire. Pool table to amuse the kids at night and dogs are very welcome to go in. Pitch are ok could do with marking out a bit clearer. Dog exercise area very small. The price is great will be returning to this site. The food at the Kings Arms a few miles down the road is fantastic.
