We have just returned from a really lovely 5 day break at this great site. Brilliant location, very friendly staff, and it was very peaceful and relaxing. All the facilities and the pitches were very well maintained.
There is a small shop that carries the basics, but enough to keep you going if needed.
Great little playground for the children, and a clubhouse/games room.
Our only complaint (if you can call it that!) is that the toilet block was a little on the cold side when having a shower etc.
We will return at some point I am sure.

Me and my family have stayed here numerous times as we enjoyed it so much. The facilities are fantastic, with a park, and games room, a little chip shop and also a shop that near enough sells everything you may run out of! The staff are excellent for ideas of wear to go for different activities! Overall I excellent site would recommend to anybody with children.

Outstanding views on the approach to this campsite, the site was just as outstanding as well
The site is large with areas for both campers and caravanners. We pitched in the field across from the park which the kids loved.
Shower and toilet clean both with hot water, there is also a pot wash area.
Small shop in reception selling basic provisions.
Fish and chip shop on site, bit pricey but you are miles from any shops, The site was clean at all time.
There is also a club house with bar and games room for the kids.
Nearby you can hire boats, great fun on the lake.
Just over the bridge is a couple of pubs and tourist shops and cafes, makes a good day out, also close by are other lakeland areas to vist which makes good days out whether you are in to sight seeing, walking or shopping.
I would just like to say great site, wonderful area and that I will revisit the lakes in the future.

This site is in a great location for the lake & a good base for the lake & northern part of the national park.
Our visit this time was over the bank holiday weekend. We have stayed at the site a number of times in the past but always at much quieter periods. I am please to say that despite the site being extremely busy, it maintained a feel of quiet & relaxation. Very laid back place. Safe & secure for the kids to play freely. A reasonably sized play area is provided.
The Toilet/Shower & washing up facilities were good, clean and plenty of Hot Water for the showers both mornings and in the evenings. I'd quite happily recommend this site.

Just spent 3 days at Ullswater Caravan and Camping Marine Park cant praise it enough,
The facilities were good the pitches were good all seemed to have electricity hook ups, water taps and a drain to empty the sink waste water down,
The staff friendly, the club house which is next to a games room were children can go into was okay,
There is a shop that sells quite a selection of goods it is open 8am till 8pm.
Just down the road one way was Pooley Bridge which is a nice place to visit and the other way is Glenridding which is also a place worth visiting.

The welcome in the reception/shop was warm and pleasant, this reflected the whole stay.
The site was near immaculate at all times and there was even guys out repairing the odd pot holes in the camps roads. The toilet blocks were modern and spotless despite the site being fairly full.
Showers hot and free. There had obviously been a lot of rain and new turf laid to try to keep things usable. The play park was great with plenty to keep my kids busy. The shop although at first glance seeming a bit sparse turned out to have something to at least 'get bye' for every occasion. My only two minor criticisms which would probably be personal to me were, The curfew was 11. 30pm a tad late for my youngsters - that said it is very family orientated and never got very loud anyway. The second was the fish and chip shop was just that -you could have fish, chips or both - they don't do anything else.

Just had a lovely few days at the ullswater. Despite been busy it was still peaceful and relaxing. Even the heavy rainfall at the weekend couldn't ruin it.
The site has a games room and pub open at peak times and a chip shop that opens on an evening between 5-9pm.
The facilities are very good for kids with a large playground and ample room for a game of football or cricket.
Some lovely walks from the site one been Aira falls which is 3 miles away. I will definitely be returning in the near future.

This was a really nice site. It seems the further north you go in the lakes - the better. The overall size seemed just right - not too big and not too small.
The weather was really nice which can help things but the site had a really nice atmosphere at night with everyone sitting outside there tents chatting quietly but then in near silence after dark.
Showers of the expected standard - nothing too flash but good enough!
Site shop good and staff were friendly. The woman who booked us in was really helpful this was one of the few sites I could find ( in the lakes )where I could get a side by side pitch next to our friends who were in a caravan. Not quite sure why this was the case as money was not an issue and we wanted ehu etc.

We drove over to Ullswater via Kirkston Pass on a turn up on spec view. It was the first week of the summer holidays so were expecting to be turned away from a few places (which we were).
So we continued round the lake stopping at every site until we found one with room. We usually stay away from sites which cater for caravans and have statics on site as these sites tend to have a not so camping feel about them.
When we arrived at the reception / shop I enquired about the pitches requesting grass and no EHU (most campsites seem shocked when a van doesn’t want an Electric Hook Up for some reason) So we got a map of the site and were shown the areas we could go in and park wherever we wanted.
There was loads of space and it was all split up into little fields separated by mature trees which helped with the wind (as you are pretty high up).
We only used the toilet blocks at the site and these were up to scratch for campers but I don’t think I would have been too happy if I had a unit on the site long term. This has been mentioned before and I can confirm the toilet situation mentioned previously and the reflective ceiling! We were not fussed about this as we are happy with no facilities. Our pitch was flat and the ground was nice and soft for normal pegs.
After we had set up camp we went for a wonder down to the lake via the private road opposite the turn off the main road and down to the lake via the foot path. We crossed the marinas and sat by the lake for a bit before the long slog up the hill. We were up in the Lakes during the Windermere air show weekend, so we saw some pretty low flying planes circling the area before they were to have their run down the lake.
After a peaceful night sleep we packed up and headed off to the north of Ullswater where we parked up and went for another lakeside walk past a few more campsites which were right on the lake.
We paid £21 for two adults per night in high season

After a rainy week walking in Devon, we bailed out, got a replacement awning pole to replace the one snapped under force of the deluge, picked up my daughter and got on the phone to find a last minute in The Lake district.
Famous for it's rain, but on this occasion it was generally fine.
Being a Bank Holiday, everywhere was full, and we were therefore grateful for a pitch on this site, which was ideal for my 10 year old daughter to make friends on.
A quite lovely, mature site, with lots of statics and permanent pitches near the entrance, and wide variety of camping fields and areas, breaking up the extensive size of the site.
Great for families, not good at busy times if you want peace and quiet, though the crowds dissolved after the B/Hol.
No serious walking from the site, no pub and the shop is fairly sparse given the size of the site. The 'Club House isn't my thing, but again, great for families, with the games room etc.
As a few reviewers have commented about the toilets, lets go there eh? We were nearest the facilities block near the playground so this is what we used, and to what I refer.
It does appear to have been newly refurbished. My partner and I agreed that the level of cleanliness was adequate, but probably related more to the refit than the cleaning regime, Notable surfaces did not get a wipe during our entire stay, and the spiders were clearly taking over - as they always do.
The site was packed and on the face of it, 3 shower stalls (male) was not adequate. Neither was the hot water supply, always a problem at peak demand. The cleaners did seem to keep up with the highly visible muddy floor however.
I think the management of the site need to go back to the firm who specced up the loos. The stylish glossy roof panels may be easy to sweep clear of insects (though clearly this is not on the cleaners sheet), but stand in the shower and look up, and you can see straight down into the loo stalls. Sit on the loo and look up, and guess what - yup. Not the best idea I've ever seen in a public washroom.
ALSO
What you need in these places is some heavy duty flushing gear. Stylish, close coupled systems may look great from a distance in low voltage lighting, but my experience going to the loo on more than one morning was as follows:
Trap 1. Yuk. Hit the flush and move on.
Trap 2. Yuk. Hit the flush and move on.
Trap 3. Yuk. Hit the flush and.
Trap 4. Yuk. Err.
Trap 1. Still Yuk.
Trap 2. I'll risk it now.
On these occasions, a tank 2m high with a chain, is exactly what you need! Failing that, you need a loo that outperforms the ones fitted here.
Sorry to be so graphic, but graphic is exactly what it was!
I've stayed on sites with grimmer toilets, but given that the site fees were top dollar, and the occupancy rate was sky-high, the overall verdict is - must try harder.
