Stayed here for a long weekend over Easter. A lovely site well situated to explore the Lake District. Good shop and take away on site. Toilets/shower blocks clean. Good dog walking area and lovely views of Mountain and lake. We were on a fully serviced pitch and was on the large side. Very quiet site, there is a bar on site although we didn't use it so unable to comment. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would visit again if going to the Lakes.

Really good site.
We went as 2 families and camped in our tents in a field just down from the static caravans. Field was slightly wet but nothing too bad and it dried out nicely due to the amazing weather we get. Clear blue skies for 2 full days!
On site they have toilet/shower blocks, these were clean & well looked after with plenty toilets, showers which were good, and plenty loo roll.
There's a good park which kept the kids happy, a decent shop. A chippy which was OK, this also does breakfasts too but we didn't have any so can't comment.
There is also a pub which was pretty good, lager wasn't the best I've had and it wasn't cheap. It good quite busy as it got freezing at night quite early, so most people camping went here. There's also a games room inside the clubhouse, 2 pool tables & some arcade machines which again kept the kids occupied.
There is a pub nearby, but I'd think it'd be a fair walk to it, maybe 1 1/2 miles. Apart from this everything else is a drive away. Keswick is 20 minutes away & ullswater much closer.
All in all I'd say this is a very good site, great for kids & very good facilities. I can't really find a fault with it.
I'd definitely recommend it to anyone

Spent a week on this site in the rain, it coped very well with all the rain we had, never became water logged for the tents etc.
Reception - Staff very helpful, when called upon.
Shop - Sold the basics, not expensive either.
Toilet/Showers - Cleaned twice a day, the middle block coped well with all the muddy feet with all the rain, the top block was always clean.
Bar - Nice after a day of walking just to sit down and to relax.
Pitch - Near the playground, no problems at all.
Area, well all I can say ' The lake district ' speaks for it's self.
All in all, very good site would recomend to anyone, also taking tent up in a couple of weeks too. ( I think i've caught the 'camping bug' )

There were 5 large tents in total in our group & when we arrived at the campsite were pleasantly surprised with how nice & spacious it was. We had a good look round as we could camp anywhere & decided to camp at the back of the shower / toilet block so we didn't have far to walk if we needed to use the loo in the night. The showers & toilets were very clean & were cleaned on a regular basis.
We were able to make a good circular camp which was great & after checking out the shower/toilet block we were pleased at what we saw. The nice thing was that on the dates that we stayed there it was empty at first & we had the showers all to ourselves.
The clubhouse was a bit deadly but cosy & ok for a couple of hours or so, but the music was terribly loud so much so that it was distorting.
The launderette was great.
The park was fab for the kids they were on it every single day & never ever got bored of it & where we were camped we could see them easily.
There are lovely walks around the site.
We found it to be very quite.
We found a Morrisons in Penrith which was about 10-15 mins away which was the better option than the camp shop which was quite expensive.
We most probably wouldn't return to this campsite & this is only because we like to try different places, but we did enjoy ourselves & the scenery in the Lakes is breath-taking.

Just returned from a weekend away at this site and felt I needed to give it a new review that it deserved. It has had a total new refit, the toilets and shower blocks have all been replaced but have still left the nice added touch of the piped music. All the pitches have been turned into gravelled service pitches with own electric point, water and waste disposal. It cost us for the van 2 adults and 2 children £24.00 A night my hubby was disapointed in the price but I thought it was worth it rather than having to trek to get water and empty waste. Well done Ullswater.

Did a weekend at this site. The facilities are ok.Toilet block is adequate and the childrens play area is great for the young uns. We went with a family with two young boys and they loved it. In fact one of them loved it so much he set fire to our wind break but thats another story. The weather helped as in was hot.We could pitch anywhere we liked because the place wasnt full being early May
The bar is plain but serves beer so.
The chippy was expensive in the extreem so dont rely on that to feed you unless your richer than me. All in all a great weekend at this pleasant well run and clean site

Not a bad site but not great either. Tv reception poor you will need your sky here. If you want views from this site forget it unless you want a mountain view we got that over the roof tops pitch 5. The only view we found over ullswater from this site was from 3 static caravans or a walk out of site at top of the hill. We spoke to a lot of people who had come to the site for the views but were not pleased that they did not get one. The website says 'Set over-looking Lake Ullswater', no its not, only from 3 statics. Chip shop on site nice chips tinned mushy peas (batter on fish very weird said it was made with salt pepper and beer), but they were not open a lot of time or club etc as only a handful of people on the site Few more at weekend.

We stayed here for one week with our children aged 2, 4, and 6. This is a lovely site with friendly staff. Toilets and showers were clean (done twice a day, early and mid pm) and fine for all our needs. We were able to camp near the play-park which was great for the kids. The bar is open in the evenings from 8 which we used (although it doesn't do food there's a chip shop on site) - there's even a saturday night disco! Found the staff very friendly and obliging. We were grateful for the no noise after 11 policy - the owner drove round site ensuring this was adhered to. Lovely walk to aira-force from the camp-site. Just hoping for a little more sunshine next year! Will definitely go back. Much nicer than the busier and noisier Park Foot where we've been in the past.

Last minute we decided to go to this park as we had had the worst week ever at scarborough. I am so pleased we did as this site is great. Full of nice people with nice families not a load of people who just want to get drunk and fight! Well at least the people who were drunk were merry! Lovely setting lovely staff, we are going again whenever we go to ullswater, we are a family of 4 with a dog and all of us loved it especially our 8 and 6 year old.

Moderately pleasant with adequate facilities but stayed in much better. Seriously lacked decent pub nearby. Showers ok but could do with a mop to clean away mucky footprints. On site chippy was fantastic.Helpful staff. Would not got back. Smell of slurry very overpowering but handy if stuck for nowhere else to go. Did seem a good site for families. In short, ok, but overpriced for facilities. 2 thistles out of 5 bobbles. Back up, back out.
