Just spent a lovely week here. The Easter weekend was very busy but after Monday the site was fairly emptied of tourers and tents. We were very impressed with the pleasant and helpful staff there, facilities were as described and more than adequate - although hot water in the showers still seems to be a problem after 9am! Our only grumble was that although there was a ,short, dog walk - there were no "dog bins". Nevertheless we would return!

Visited the site over the Easter weekend and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Telephoned in advance to ensure that they would accept our large tent, absolutely no problem. Very friendly and helpful staff. Several fields available for pitching tents, all seemed ok although some people did end up on a slope but they did arrive late on in the weekend and the site was quite full.
Good childrens play area. Toilets and showers ok, nothing fancy but there never seemed to be a queue for them (probably too cold for most to venture forth!). Never saw anyone cleaning them but they must have been done quite regularly as whenever I went in I found them clean. Water was generally hot, only one evening when it was luke warm but again not bad for a busy weekend.
There is nowhere really to walk to from this site but there is a club house if you seek company in the evening. Owner came round in the evening and politely asked people to start to quieten down which was great and done in such a way that everyone complied.
Enjoyed stay and would return again.

We found this to be a family orientated site with adventure playground. They also catered for the children on a night, there was a games room located near the bar. Our children age 13 and 15 spent time in there while we relaxed. However in dire need of some modernisation still back in the 1980s . But overall very well ran and very friendly will visit again.

Very nice site, well laid out, shop very basic but staff friendly. Showers only superficially clean and no hot water after 9am. Site regularly patrolled by owner day and night. Would visit again, but not use the showers, reckon I came out dirtier than when I went in

A very busy site, but more than large enough to cope. Facilities were very good - toilets were regularly cleaned, but dirtied quickly due to volume of people. Why not put in a solid ceiling instead of slatted timber - this would keep it a lot cleaner and warmer and keep the insects out! Showers were adequate, but I hate having to balance on one leg to dry the other before putting it in my shoe - the cubicles are large enough for a drying area, but are open to the showers and are soaking wet and dirty underfoot. Apart from that moan, the kids enjoyed it and we loved the area. Watch out though it is quite high up and gets quite windy & cold quickly - and that's in August!

Just come back from a long weekend at this site - 2 parties - 2 adults in one, 2 adults and 2 children (8 & 6). None hook-up, although these are available if prep booked. Campsite is nicely split out into separate areas, so even though this is a big site, you don't feel hemmed in or on top of each other (we looked at 3 other sites whilst we were there and they were nothing more than a field with very little room between each tent - we certainly felt we'd made the best choice) - We arrived around 4pm on the Friday afternoon and and a fairly free pick of pitches. The toilet facilities are basic, but clean (which is the main thing) and the showers were free. It was particularly busy whilst we were there and most of the hot water was gone by 8.30am, but if you were prepared to wait about an hour it soon warmed up again. Reception was good and staff were friendly - there are plenty of rubbish and water points around the site and these were emptied regularly. This is NOT a lively site, so if you're looking for that, then look elsewhere. There is a bar on site, the usual camp shop, laundrette and pot washing facilities. You also need to be prepared to use the car if you want to go anywhere - unless you're there for the rambling anyway. The site had a very 'safe' feel about it and we were happy to let the children run freely. If we were going back to this area would definitely use this site again.

A friendly welcome and a pleasant site. Staff were very helpful and the toilets and showers were clean and well maintained. Top toilet block far better than the ones in the tent end of the site. Shame the site is so far from a good pub and local facilities. The pub on site didn't open until 9pm while we were there! Travellers Rest in Glenridding and the Sportsman were both very good. Only concern was the lack of control over the speed of vehicles travelling on the site. Very few speed bumps and / or controls in place so we didn't feel it was safe to allow our son to run around. Site staff in a blue pick up and Range Rover were the worst culprits! Great walk from the site to Aira Force Falls and if you time it right you can catch a bus back. Not a bad site but will look elsewhere next time we visit the Lake District. For the money would have hoped for better. Park Foot was well reccomended by some of the walkers we met.

Stayed here over the Easter Bank Holiday. Even though there were a lot of people there I never felt short of space. The site it sectioned off into a number of different areas all with their own water tap and bins that are regularly emptied so no long walks to get rid of your rubbish even at the far end of the site. Shop is well stocked and the staff are friendly helpful. The disco on Saturday night was a great laugh , like being back to the school disco!
Wash-up and shower facilities were clean and tidy especially the showers at the top end of the site. The walk to Aira Force was a nice trip out and easily accessed from the site. The only down side is that there are no shops etc. very near but that's nothing major

First Time on campsite - very happy overall. We have 3 children 9,4,1 and they were all catered for. We arrived on the Friday about 2.00pm and there was no problem in getting a pitch for 4 tents together and there seemed to be plenty of space in the other fields. The scenery was beautiful, the shop was reasonably priced and seemed to have everything in. Showers were cold after 8.00am because the site was so busy and I don't think it could cater for everyone, but I'm sure that on a not so busy weekend it would be fine. Would defiantly go again

Plenty of space, only one other tent in the field we were in. Well screened, lots of trees. Facilities good, plenty of toilets, showers and hot water. Shop reasonably priced. Large bar. A bit of a hike to the nearest pub. Will return next year. Only downside was the weather...gale force winds and torrential rain!
